Begu did well to play high top spin balls, since Sakkari is quite short in height, it really bothered the Greek for the best of first two sets, then adjusted. In the end, the superior serve of Sakkari made the difference. I am Romanian, been watching Begu play for years, this was probably her best tennis yet, but hey, a weak serve is a weak serve, especially no2. She should have hired pro's to help her with the serve years ago.

Anything faster she will be hit out of the court by Aryna or Elena. Sakkari’s biggest weapon is her physical strength and training. Watch her training videos, she’s a beast. You can see how strong she looks. This really helps her generate and control spin even with higher balls. A fast clay or slower hard court it plays into her abilities the best into reaching a final or winning one. Anything else she’s not going to get passed the semis with the current top players.

Madrid Open is so ugly with those VIP terraces(you can see the majority of them empty, instead of them being full like in Rome). Went there 2 times, and you are sitting far from the players which makes it better to watch the matches at home, because it is cheaper, and you can see the players much closer. It's the only tournament that does that I think, which is so annoying. It´s like a deluxe sport to watch is Spain, which is ridiculous.
