I hope you have a training soon because I would certainly love to attend. There is so much to be learned by you!!❤️❤️🙏🙏
For the past 34 years I had suffered from and Autoimmune Disease, but I only got my diagnoses 3 months ago. This led me to discover that there are millions that suffer like me, and many more who'll probably never get diagnosed due to doctors who treat individual flareups as singular events. After reading countless stories, much were similar to mine, I realised that this was the group that I wanted to reach. I took coaching courses and am getting ready to start taking on clients. I can't do anything medically, but I can work towards the mental and emotional health of these warriors. At this stage I'm not sure if I should focus solely on men, or women too. 1/4 people who are diagnosed are men. That leaves 3/4 people with no one to help them. How would be the best way? should I simply Niche down and work only with men?
@Dominique Thom I always recommend that your target audience should be who you enjoy working with and it's usually who you were right before you learned about your transformation/product/service. Hope this helps. Happy Tuesday!
Tanya, your video on ICA is super helpful. I was feeling pretty lost in this whole process. One thing a FB friend told me was that she interviews at least 5+ people that fit her ICA to get some real-world answers & data on some of the 10 questions you pose and more. I'd love to know what you think about the research part . I feel like I have more direction after watching your vid. Love to hear your thoughts.
@Marc Weisberg Happy Monday Rock Star. Yes, I agree with your FB friend. Interviewing several people that fit your ICA is extremely helpful in gathering data to see where their pain points truly are and to see how they describe those pain points so that you use their exact verbiage in your marketing copy. Hope this helps!
Thank you for this video. How will the creation of a persona from my mind attract real buyers? Should external sources of information be included in the creation process, and if so, what sources do you recommend?
Hey there rock star! I'm not too sure I understand your question, but I'll try my best to answer. Having an ideal customer avatar helps you to address their needs and concerns when you are speaking to them on social media, in your emails and in your sales copy. You need to understand your target avatar inside and out to speak to them in a way that they can respond. Hope this helps!
@Tanya Aliza I actually have the same question - I think what JamGirl is asking is.. how does creating an arbitrary character going to bring real results? How do we know that the avatar we created is accurate when we haven’t interviewed anyone or done research? For instance, we answer each question and we give our own ideal answer based on what we think, however there is no real data to extract these answers from so how can we be accurate? How do we find the demographics and the psychographics of our audience? Creating a customer avatar with no research data does kind of feel a bit like shooting a dart with a blindfold on. Where can we go to gather adequate data for our customer avatar?
Hi @R. O. Thanks for jumping in here to join the conversation and thanks for the clarification on the original poster's comment. In my opinion, people are people...meaning you may think that the character you are creating is "arbitrary" but it is usually based on someone you know. For example, most people's avatar is really them a year or two or three prior. You have a solution for that person you were a year to 3 years ago. Another is basing who you wish to help on a friend or family member. Example, you have a product or service that helps retired women, you can perhaps use your mother as an avatar to target. Another example could be you have a product or service that helps with weight loss, but you did not have that issue personally, but your best friend did. You can use your friend as the avatar and use her as the example when answering the 10 questions. Hope this helps! Happy FriYAY!
Great info! This may be a dumb question, but here goes. When trying to decide who my tribe is by going thru the questions, how exactly would I know how all my followers would answer the questions? Would it be beneficial to ask my followers if they would be willing to answer a few questions so I know how to better serve them and their needs? And that their names and answers will stay confidential. Then, I'd have a bigger idea who my audience is.
Hi Kathy. Not dumb question at all! You can certainly ask your audience directly. Another way is to join groups on Facebook and search for topics in there and gather information from questions and responses posted by others already so that you can get a feel for what their pain points are. Another strategy is to go to Amazon book reviews and see what questions people are asking on books that are similar to the service you provide. Thank you Tanya for always giving such great insight! I love all your videos and appreciate all the amazing free resources! I've done these type of exercises a few times and I feel like I know who my 'avatar' is but not sure what that means as far as knowing what to post etc. I guess I need to know how to translate this information to the next step! haha Do you have a video for that? THanks you!

I’m SO happy I found this video! As a new creator, this has been the hardest part for me to narrow down. I’ve felt that if I narrowed down to a specific person in my mind, that my audience will be TOO small since I’m talking to ONE person - but I know that’s not true. Trying to override all this overthinking & you’ve helped with that! New sub here - thanks so much! 💓 Just one question - why would it be important to know if your avatar has pets or not?
Hi @LoveYourHealing Thanks so much for commenting here and Welcome to the RUclips fam! Pets are a good way to connect with your audience, especially if you have one. You will get engagement on your posts if you share your pet on occasion and your audience have pets as well. You can also use that information for ad targeting when you are ready to start marketing with ads. Hope this helps!
For me I offer a service and not a product and your right about "putting this off" and that "its not fun", but here I am. I think I know my target audience / market but its understanding their needs and "what keeps them awake at night", without outrightly asking them.
Very educational video, thank you! However, it is not clear to me how we deduct this information - is through intuition or data research which will mean paying someone to do market research? Also, my ICA can either be man or woman and I have no idea how to decide. What would you recommend?
Glad you found it helpful! This is something that you should do for your business considering what your ideal audience is. Give your persona a name and answer all the questions I share in this episode. I'm sure when you finish filling the whole Worksheet, you'll get so much more clarity on who your ideal customer is 😉
Hi Toni. I'm so glad you found this episode helpful! I'm not sure what you mean by post my avatars on my website. Having an ideal customer avatar is more for internal use. It's to help hone your message to be targeted to the right people.
Thanks for your content. First time on the channel. I really enjoyed it, and I am looking forward to seeing more of it. Sorry for the several questions I am about to drop, but what happens when you just have a certain notion of the answer, but some others you're clueless. Where would it be a good place to identify those data points, or how can you be sure that the information is valid; like where do they hang out online? What stuff do they buy?, etc
@juan reyes Welcome to the RUclips fam! I like to use Facebook groups and have conversations with my ideal customer avatar to confirm my notions. I also use polls in the RUclips community section and on Instagram stories. Hope this helps. Happy FriYAY!
@Anita P. Thanks for your question! My favorite way to find these things out is joining Facebook groups that your target audience is hanging out in. You can check out the conversations going on in there and keep a log of what members of the group mention (books, movies, magazines..etc) or you can ask a question in there yourself to gather data, just keep it conversational and ask as if you are looking for the info for your own consumption. Ex- I'm looking for some new books to read to help me with my money mindset. What are your favorites? Hope this helps!
Hi Tanya, another amazing episode, thanks! I am struggling to find my ideal avatar. The people that have purchased from me in the past are so varied it's hard to pinpoint who they are. There are two things that are common and that is they are all tech challenged and age range from 35-65. Other than that, they all like different things. They all have different professions. How do I create an avatar based on that? I have tried this exercise several times and I am hoping you can help me with clarity. Thanks in advance.
hey hey Millissa! I totally get it, there's not two people who are the same. The idea here is to create 3/4 personas that you can talk to and make your process easier. This is by far one of the best tools so you focus your communication on who really needs to hear what you've to say. Even if it seems like a confusing exercise to go through, imagine you're talking to a friend each time you create an avatar. Hopefully that helps, Millissa ❤ Here for you 💪

Seems like my tribe are women like me ? Is that good or bad ? Like same struggles, same things that keep them awake at night ? Am I being too subjective ? thanks
@Danijela Nakovski No, that's not being too subjective at all! This is true for most people. Your avatar or tribe is usually just like you, though maybe about 1 or 2 years ago. Focus on the pain points and struggles that you faced and overcame 1 to 3 years ago and speak to those people who are where you were then. Help them overcome the struggles you did. Good luck... you got this!

Hey Tanya! I loved this yet I did avataRs before! What if you’re pivoting to something really really new that happens to have 2 separate targets, like B2B and B2C… would not answering this questions like kind of basing my business on assumptions? I mean, in my previous businesses I’ve always noticed that I would kind of invent my avatar and then move very slowly to attract the tribe initially. Thought this time I would use this an interview questions? Curious on what’s your thoughts about this! :) thanks, you’re a badass! 😉 ahah
@Ayrton Giulio Gonnelli Thanks so much Rock Star. Great question! Yes, you are basing your answers to develop your avatar on assumptions, or what I like to think of as educated guesses. Most already have an idea of the type of person that their product or service is perfect for and they have seen the problems/struggles that they have via questions on social media, etc. Good luck. You got this!!
Thank you Tanya :) I made this questions a few times yet. So my ideal customer AND business partner is like me ;D Between 35 and 55 with 2 Kids. They have got a dog and like to travel with caravan. Also they have got a job in Office. So they need some fitness because 8 hours a day in front of a laptop is not really ideal. They like to drive with bicyle too. They love their families and always think about to get financial freedom, so their kids would have better life at all. Because of that they want build up their own business. Here is my problem: In my network (health & wellness) my ideal customer is my ideal business partner too. I always will produce content for better business AND better healthy living. Should I generate 2 seperate Channel (like RUclips Channel etc.) or should I only use ONE channel?!
Hi Ralf. Thanks for your question. I always recommend having one channel and branding yourself. You can always focus on one side and sprinkle in the other on occasion. Focus on what you like taking about more, the business or the product/service. You may enjoy being a member of my free Facebook group the B-LAB. You can get answers to questions like these not only from me, but a ton of other Bosses. You can check it out here: training.tanyaaliza.com/join-build-like-a-boss/
@@TanyaAlizaTV Thank you Tanya. I am a member of your B lab Group :) But in many of your videos I ask myself again: "What should be MY focus?!" So I decide for Buiness now. No way back! ;D
Staying focused on your niche is important and not try to be everything to everyone. However, if your ideal client has pets will your marketing be focused towards people with pets?
How specific should I be in answering these 10 questions? Is the more specific my answers to these questions are the better? Is the more specific the better?

Thanks Voltaire! Which example do you find interesting?
Seems like my tribe are women like me ? Is that good or bad ? Like same struggles, same things that keep them awake at night ? Am I being too subjective ? thanks
@Danijela Nakovski No, that's not being too subjective at all! This is true for most people. Your avatar or tribe is usually just like you, though maybe about 1 or 2 years ago. Focus on the pain points and struggles that you faced and overcame 1 to 3 years ago and speak to those people who are where you were then. Help them overcome the struggles you did. Good luck... you got this!
@@TanyaAlizaTV Thank you so much ! I think I feel I did not overcome my struggles , so how can I help them ? I am really working towards it BTW... Still thanks a lot for the reply !
@Danijela Nakovski That's fine. We're always learning and growing. Just take your tribe on your journey and give them tips along the way about the things that have helped you. I'm sure you have invaluable knowledge that your tribe needs to hear! You got this!!
@@TanyaAlizaTV Thank you so much !
@Danijela Nakovski You're so welcome. Happy Wednesday!
Thank you so much ❤
You're welcome 😊 Do you have your Tribe defined?
@@TanyaAlizaTV I do but I really don’t know how to get them… how to engage them to my platforms
Hi Tanya, I love this episode, so informative. I have a problem to find my tribe, i am changing up my Instagram for 2021 and will be working on does and donts within styles. I want to motivate women to be the best version of themselfs, get confident and more stylish. Thank you for reading this and i hope you have a suggestion . Line x
Thanks Line! I'm glad you loved this episode. Did you download my 10 Question Tribe Worksheet? That should help you out. Here's the link: www.tanyaaliza.com/240
Hello Tanya Greate Info I am new to affiliate marketing
Awesome Ricardo! Welcome to the world of affiliate marketing! Curious, what was your favorite takeaway from this episode?
No way back! ;D
You got this, Ralf! Ask away in the group! The support in there really does help.

Hello looks great, very good morning
Do you know your ideal customer avatar already, Puneet?
I am impressed by you, by your voice, way of talk, and communication style.i m watching you from last week and I really like you and your videos
Glad to have you here! Are you implementing any of these tips? 😉
So if my ideal client has pets does that disqualify people who don’t but desperately are seeking my kind of services?
Staying focused on your niche is important and not try to be everything to everyone. However, if your ideal client has pets will your marketing be focused towards people with pets?
always
Does this work for artists
Yes of course. If you are acquiring buyers of any kind.
Thank u
@Mosfet Homes You're so welcome. Curious, what was your favorite takeaway from this episode?
How specific should I be in answering these 10 questions? Is the more specific my answers to these questions are the better?
Is the more specific the better?
Yes for sure the more specific you get the more targeted your marketing.
@@TanyaAlizaTV Thank you for your reply to my previous question, Tanya! 😃😉🤗 How do I know if my answers are specific enough? How about I send you my answers that I wrote to your 10 questions for you to quickly review my answers to see if they are specific enough or if my answers are broad, and to comment on my answers? Could you please review my answers, Tanya? 😊
If you would like to send in a request to support@tanyaaliza.com, we can do a quick review.
I have no idea how to find out the answers to questions 7-10.
Have you tried surveying your audience to get some ideas?
