My exact setup. I just use a pmup on the OSC command and just adjust time on and or time before the next on time. Use an apex solenoid for safety tied to PH reading.
Hey Travis, any worries of the kalk stirrer being knocked into and tipping over? I am going to install one in a similar place outside of my tank however I’m worried about it getting knocked over by my cat. Think you could draft a 3d mock-up for a stand to prevent this from falling over? I’m worried my curious cats will for sure knock this over, dumping the solution everywhere. TIA
I wanted the K1 but it was never in stock, the two little fishies is so basic, you get what you pay for! But it works how I have it pumped off my RO with Apex solenoid
Keep an eye on the chaeto growth. Cheato uses Co2 to grow and the higher PH from the kalk might be a limiting factor in the algae growth. Probably one of the reasons your chaeto grew so well was because of the calcium reactor effluent.
Now will you clean the stirrer each time you refill kalk? I've been adding kalk to my auto top off container and mixing it in it. Should I be rinsing it out each time?
Avast makes a great reactor. I love my k1 reactor. You should increase the kalk dose to 5000ml or higher. I'm dosing 1900ml on a 20 gallon. Great video.
Dude on this ARM Media you can go dawn with pH. pH 6.0 is completly fine for that. Bellow 5.9 its starts to melt down. It's CaCO3 not corals skelletons. It need lower pH than two little fishies media. Try it.
If that is a working chiller, then I’d suggest moving the stirrer off from there. It is an unsealed lid, so if you have any precipitation clogging the outlet, you run the risk of overflowing the stirrer and having it spill all over the chiller.
I have been eye-balling one of these for years. Avast sells a DIY kit to build the K2 and I am going to do that some day. Not sure what your effluent ph is but l could never get anything above 15 dkh until I lowered my ph in the calcreax to 6.1. My Precision Marine calc reax sprung a leak and replaced it with a Lifereef calcium reactor and two little fishies media. Now I run 6.5 in the reactor and dosing a quarter of the amount I was previously. Was the issue the ARM media I was using or the reactor?!? Don't really care because the combo is working which puts off buying the K2 for a while. :)
If you slow your co2 bubbles per second down, so that you ph probe doesn't have to turn your valve on and off as often you would dump less co2 into your tank, and have higher ph.
Oh I see why your videos are not being recommended, your not pushing Safety Susan techniques. Chemical resistant gloves, 3m chemical respirator, safety googles and a fan venting to the outside. Also recommended wearing leather sized appropriately gloves when assembling the tubing because you could slip and get a terrible scratch from tour own finger nails lol.

I also use the pmup separate of my atk pmup lol
Question: Why don’t you run your Calrx effluent into the skimmer to degas some co2 and offset the lower ph?

No worries but yes I can make a stand
@@FishOfHex right on. I’ll reach out directly.
Awesome set up you have there! That sps tank looks great.
A trick : watch movies on Flixzone. Been using it for watching lots of of movies these days.
@Adan Messiah yup, I've been watching on flixzone} for since december myself :)
@Adan Messiah yup, have been using Flixzone} for since november myself =)

What size sump ?

I was wondering what camera do you film with

Howsit man,
You using the arm right? I use the same for years now and you can push the media down to 6.1.. it only really starts working at 6.3

Nice system, brother!! I just use a #BRS perlastic pump that connected to my Kalk reactor and its set on a timer which gets all connected to my Apex!

Why don't you control your DOS off your trident and ph probe...
Bc that's a bad idea for my setup
I dose about 2 gallons of kalk a day to my 90g system
Do you sell your Fish Of Hex banner that you have hanging on ur frag tub?

Are you dosing 50ml a day or an hour? You probably need to dose like 2 gallons a day... 50ml of kalk is absolutely nothing in the scheme of things.
