This piece was originally written for one of my children's stories called 'A Day With Dad'. On a beautiful May morning when I was ten years old, my Dad invited me to stay home from school. We went together on an adventure. My Dad was building our house, and we spent the day working on it. As a highlight at the end of the day, he took me for my first ever chocolate malted. As I was spinning on the stool under the fan in that diner, my dad made it clear, no paper cups for us, we wanted glasses for our malted.
