Ever since I started watching your channel I have developed a sort of respect for you because I would never have the patience to go for a platinum trophy
@@nick_ar I managed to get platnum at the age of 12 and boy was it hard I almost broke my controller the worst was time trial and hard mode I was praying to get it my hint for you to get it is by using a speed character
As a long time CTR Veteran, I'm proud of you. When you first started out, you were merely coasting along the tracks, but once you had to buckle down and master drift boosting, you gradually got better and better. Congrats man. (Just be glad you didn't have to do the Developer Times. Now THOSE are hell.) Lol.
I love this video because it's a perfect showcase of what makes CTR the best racing game ever. Easy enough to pick up and play on Easy if you're a beginner, but there are enough advanced techniques to master that are so satisfying once you nail them and let you reach insane speeds.
Look man, the things that you do are ridiculously insane. I know you may think I'm overreacting but seriously you put a ginormous amount of work into these videos and platinums. This content is over my expectations and are fantastically done. You put pain and tedious effort into all these videos that you dont appreciate enough. Thank you for giving us these great commentated recordings. You'll hit a milion subs in no time!
ctrnf's platinum trophy was such a fun challenge i personally casually played it over 80 hours before atempting the plat so i got most of the trophies except the time trials and hard mode and basically mastered all the tracks and mechanics. this is probably my hardest and favorite platinum with resident evil hd. congrats on platinuming the whole series that takes a lot of skill and patience. can't wait for the next video
I did it the opposite way, I got the game for the platinum trophy. I can't exactly remember how long it took me to platinum it I believe around 40-50 hours? But even after 100%ing it I beat all the velo time trials and I was really proud of that so then I went for the dev time trials (I found them too hard not being able to do a single one and gave up) I eventually came back to the game and tried again, committed this time and boy was it one of the hardest challenges I've ever done. Mastering U turning was so hard for me lol. I still play it to this day and just go for personal PB's currently with 92 hours
I love that you practice and overcame all the difficulties that the game threw at you, some people struggle with the drift boosting perfectly to keep fires going and they just give up and its always such a shame to see that. So I am very glad to see you managed to get the hang of it.
As someone who did everything in this game, plat relics on all tracks, developer times etc. which are actually hard for even veterans, this brought me back to when I was starting out with the game. Once you start to understand how different flames work, which boost pads give blue flame, what shortcuts are usable by the ghosts in timetrials, U-turning to make sharp turns without losing your boosts are some of the most rewarding things I've felt in a videogame. Shame the game died out quickly once they stopped making content and they didn't do much with online, so much missed potential.
Just subbed very recently to your channel and you actually motivated me to start collecting platinums, I already got 2 in just 3 days and I plan on getting more. It’s like an addiction lmao stay safe bro
Man I LOVE this game! Easily the best kart racer I've ever played. Probably one of my favorite racers of all time actually. The skill ceiling is so high, and it feels so rewarding to get better. I remember hardly being able to beat Tropy on some tracks at the start, now I've beaten all dev times and I can lap the hard AI. Such a fun game! Cool to see new players still playing this
Finally!!! Been waiting for this platinum. I platted it about a year ago and it’s still my most proud plat this game will always be one of my favourites. Great video man
This game was so satisfying for me to platinum. That learning curve from beating the races on easy compared to beating the Oxide ghosts was great to look back on with your playthrough. Good job Nick!
I was actually thinking about getting the plat last week since I already started the game a while ago. But after seeing what it takes and seeing you struggle so much I know it'll be a while before I'm able to pull it off. 😅
I revisited this game after a 2 years break and got all oxid times and hard story mode run in one weekend. It made finally click for me how to hold my SF and USF a whole (or mostly whole) lap. Understanding this mechanic made this game more enjoyable and congrats!!
Really cool to see the progress. I highly recommend you going for the dev times, look up and practice u-turning which will help. I 100% recommend using only speed and drift engines to get them done.
Congrats man. Got the plat myself a week ago. Definitely a skill based game for sure. In the beginning it seemed impossible to me but after some practice it was doable.
As someone who has 1200 hours in this game and got all of the Grand Prix decals on two systems, I admire your diligence. This game is fun and can be played casually, but it takes serious commitment to really get good. Props to you, man. Edit: Yes, Oxide is hard on hard if you can't get past him fast enough.

Idk why but this was a very easy platinum for me. Even the time trials were easy. I would say the adventure mode on hard was difficult because that's the first thing I did and I wanted to get used to the game, but eventually I didn't really feel it was too difficult, and maybe the relics. I obviously didn't do platinum relics on everything. Idk it's maybe because I played the original so much as a kid Edit and Tip: for anyone struggling, drift boosting is key, try using the Drift type it should be easy to turn. For the best speed for time trials you can also use Speed. Speed is the best class if you're able to keep boost especially on tracks with blue flame
Honestly, I think this is more a 7/10 difficulty once you get a handle on the reserve system. That said, getting everything done (including the dev times in time trial) is QUITE a bit harder but very rewarding. If you're ever feeling a tad masochistic, I assure you they're all possible and seeing your Master Wheels just feels so good
@@goofballjim6167 I get it, I always try to keep in mind other people have trouble with different things, and the reserve system does admittedly take getting used to especially since there is really no in game explanation of how they work. I'm a pretty good player, my times are all notably faster than dev time on all tracks so it's a breeze for me as well, but I think that only means I've lost touch on how difficult it can be for new players
Nice video dawg, found you about a week ago and you for sure got me motivated to get some Plats. This week so I earned my first two, 1.) Minecraft 2.) Brawlhalla. Right now I decided to Plat the recent PVZ game. Aside that, coo video

Big congrats! I freaking love CTR. Its one of the few racing games I played where you have to almost constantly be drifting to maintain your speed. When I went for the platinum myself, I played CTR so much, that when I went back to Mario Kart 8 with my friends, I was actually terrible at it, and I used to be pretty good at MK, lol
Thanks man, you've given me platinum perseverance for this game. I had all trophies except hard mode, full roster and time trials done in 2019 but I platinumed it a couple of days ago thanks to your inspiring video. I was middling at the game and I just wasn't looking forward to time trial rage on tracks like Dragon Mines. In the end I kept that track for last and beat it in about seven tries. Just barely, but enough.
Good to see Nick get better at enhancing the quality in every department, since I started watching him, (rdr2 streams) I'm happy to say he is a great youtuber to watch

The learning curve is not that aggressive. I haven’t played any kart racer or racing game since the original, but even i knew how to grasp drifting at the beginning when i came back to this game. What is aggressive is how to take tighter lines to beat the Velo and Dev times.
Having played the everloving-hell out of the original of this game on PS1, it is awesome to watch you get good throughout the video. Solid grind my guy.

Hey nick, been struggling with my mental health lately, just wanna let you know how much joy your vids have brought to me over the past year. You probably helped saved my life. Just wanna say thanks man, good luck with the platinum grind
Update bro, your video inspired me to to finally get this platinum!! I hate tiny temple, dragon mines, and oxside station so much but this is definitely my proudest platinum for my favorite childhood game!! Keep grinding bro love the videos!! 💯
I had the worst priority when I started the game. When I first played the game, I have a basic knowledge of the boosting since I've played a few hours of CTR and CNK years ago and knows that in NF, drift boosting frequently is vital. So, for my first time playing the game, I had an intent on getting the Platinum trophy... so I played Adventure Mode in Hard mode. It was hell, especially when Hard mode AI is artificially boosted, like your regular boost barely keeps up with their NORMAL DRIVING SPEED or how their items are more accurate than yours. After several weeks, I then tackled the ghosts and it was even more hellish as it took almost a year. After that, the easier ones were left and I finished the last trophy, which was the one on the battle mode but only one player. This was indeed painful but the ghost races helped me be familiar with the tracks and be competent enough to get 2nd or 3rd places online.
I spent so much time playing this game. All I'm gonna say you should be glad they added additional time trials to beat only AFTER the game launched because if they were required, you'd be here for much longer. Dev time trials don't mess around. If I were to give some tips to anyone trying to plat this game is to learn how to use the "speed" driving style as soon as possible as it's, like the name implies, the fastest but also the hardest to control. Drift is also a good option, despite not being as good

Nice brotha I was gonna comment u gotta platinum CTR as I just did it a month ago after I got crash 4's Master Marsupial! Was definitely easier than crash 4 but who cares WE GOT ALL THE CRASH PLATINUMS BABY
Yessir!
I've been recommended to do this and usually these videos would push me to go for them buuuuut, after seeing the struggles, pains, and accomplishments. I might have to hold off haha
GREAT VIDEO :D
😆
This is nuts man you've got great persistence and patience. You ought to try Wipeout Omega collection platinum if you haven't already
if you've done crash 4 this should have been a walk in the park once you get holding sacred fire nailed
Hey Nick! Love your content, you should try to do the challenge 30 platinums in 30 days if your up for it, either way amazing content my brother
Sounds fun but it would mean no vids for a month
@@nick_ar True, anyway tho love the vids, keep it up

Nick AR: I wanna go for another platinum. ( crash team racing appears ) Nick AR: we meet again…
Hey nick, been struggling with my mental health lately, just wanna let you know how much joy your vids have brought to me over the past year. You probably helped saved my life. Just wanna say thanks man, good luck with the platinum grind
I hope things get better for you and I’m glad I’m able to bring you joy!
One of my favorite games of all time and I’m still just a couple time trials away from platinum 😢 love the videos bro!
Adventure mode on hard AI is cracked
I would never be able to put myself through the HELL that is getting a Platinum on any game. Props to you!
Drift is also a good option, despite not being as good
The award is not that difficult for me, but congratulation, i literally stuck in that cave for a long time maybe for two weeks 💀💀
nice work on getting the platinum for crash team racing. plus glad i have subscribed to you when i first saw your incredly hard crash 4 video. i have been watching u ever since. because you are a great platinum hunter youtuber nick ar

You are unbeatable bro. I gave up on this one. Congratulations!! I am double happy because I was one of the few recommending u this title to play. Waiting for next video. Cheers

Nick seriously congrats on completing the series I know I wouldn't have the will power to. Congrats 🎉
I clicked on the new video as soon as I saw it in my feed, and also wanted to apologize for not subbing months ago but you definitely deserve every sub for all the torturous platinums ❤
