Accompong from my youth and what it is today ...unfamiliar and commercialized. Maroons have every right to develop and modernise, yet when viewing this and there are brownies and hookah available, I question the authentic experience outsiders see. Thank you for sharing this. BTW, I am a Maroon.

    • @jennifersomers3267

Liga Rowe .. Maroons never tell secrets to the public. They are the first independent nation in the Americas for a reason. However, money is a necessity so they must accommodate the public.
      Bless up!

Great tourist potential going to waste from bad management. I visited and was severely disappointed. If I wanted Chinese products masquerading as Jamaican, I could have gotten those in Ocho Rios. Only the food was OK. Too many vehicles parked wherever they wanted, lots of people there who knew nothing of our history or were simply misleading the visitors from their ignorance. My daughter was very disappointed too. She thought she was going to be wowed by her Maroon heritage. Very typical of Jamaica. Rich legacy, disappointingly managed into a joke.
