Most of us grew up listening to evanescence, paramore, linkin park, rock/metal in general. So that's why "break the wall" become the favourite of almost everyone in the fandom
Totally agree. DC composers draw a lot of influence from Linkin Park from what i've heard, not only taking heavy guitars and loud drums, but also using electronic elements fused with the rock stuff, with a pop songwriting mindset. For example, Handong's verse on Deja Vu, with the piano and the hip hop filtered drum groove gave me some "In The End" vibes. I really love that they take influence from that era of music.
@@JMC4101994 i never thought of 2000's music being seen as retro because it was the music of my teenage years. I also got a j rock/anime vibe from the song especially the group kalafina
"Repetitive" and "Predictable" is not a bad thing, most of us grow up with these kinds of music, less is more, and that's how Break The Wall & CGYOOMM hits. It's understandable that you guys expect something more as a misician, maybe your standards are a bit higher, it's nice to have your opinions on a more professional sight. I do agree that Break The Wall needs Siyeon's high note in the last chorus haha
Most of us don't even understand half of the vocabulary musicians are using, and have a unspoiled (no offense) candid ear and simply enjoy music, but it's good to have such educative opinions whether we agree or not.
A lot of people expect more from most groups. Even if it was something intentional. Take Dear for example, its soft, it's easy chords but executed differently and all has been done already by others. Now you get Break the Wall and we think it needed more, whereas if they left it like that, nothing more should be added in that case 🤷♂️ because as much as people with music ears, like me as well, think that something could've been more, I'm quite satisfied with the fact that all their songs ends satisfyingly.
Wow, until now, I never realized that "tired" feeling on Break the Wall chorus, it makes sense. But I still like it in this way because of the lyrics. Since it's about a world full of hate that they want to save and ask us to join them, this tired feeling sounds like them fighting against all those difficults and finding strength to get up and go break the wall. Like in those action/war movies, when they fought a lot, are super tired, but go forward to win their enemies (in slow motion) XD
I think the whole album is more focussed on lyrics, "message of love", and vocals that the instrumental itself. 1st and 2nd songs are about building a world of love by fighting a world of hate ; the 2 second songs are clearly messages of love to somnias ^^ I don't care if break the wall don't have enough high notes because in my opinion, it's on purpose. Breaking this metaphorical wall is not easy for people, so if we only had Siyeon's strenght it would not have fit the lyrics and the message. Moreover i'd like to say I love that GaHyeon, the maknae, is the last to sing the chorus. I think she represents "young people" or "new generation" and that's why it does not sound stronger, but it feel stronger, with a "weaker voice" singing this chorus. This song is kinda made for shy people, or teenagers facing hard times.... I'm sure they made Gahyeon sing this part on purpose. And I'm sure the lack of Siyeon's high note is also done on purpose. The song is made so that we can identify ourselves and thinking about breaking our own walls. It would have less impact to show only a perfect and strong Siyeon. She had to show some weakness, to hit the last notes while finally becoming strong. (Sorry if i love too much to analyze symbolism XD)
Kevin's reaction proves the power of Dreamcatcher's Intros. One of the things I love most about Dreamcatcher is listening to their albums all the way through. Often with kpop(with the exception of a few Red Velvet albums), I tend to select a few songs from the album to listen to(especially since I transitioned over to digital streaming), and almost never listen to them as a whole after the first few weeks. Dreamcatcher however, I always do two things. First, immediately upon receiving my physical album, I make a trip to my dad's house and put it into his positively glorious stereo system. I just have to hear all the little synths/background vocals, and I almost always discover something I didn't notice before. Second, the entire album from Intro straight through to the ballad at the end, gets put into my master Dreamcatcher playlist, which contains their entire discography in order of release. Every so often I listen to this all the way through, and I'm impressed every time. Each album is it's own little world, all of it Dreamcatcher, and yet all of it different at the same time. "Lose Myself" as an album is one of my favorites, though none of it's songs on their own are among my favorite tracks... well, with the exception of one. "Dear" is positively my favorite kpop ballad ever, and might be the song which cements the feel of this album for me. Which is only a little odd, since as a longtime metalhead, I've only ever had a begrudging respect for ballads.
Even though Break the wall and Can't get you out of my mind didn't have tons of complexity, I really enjoyed them because they were sounds that I experienced when I was younger, flaws and all. So all of it was a nostalgia trip for me.
My favorite song is actually Break The Wall. The lyrics of the song fit the vibe of having to fight sth even if you feel helpless. The near desperation of keeping to fight a fight that seems useless, because you know it has to be done. So instead of the epicness that the title would suggest it feels like going on and on and pushing and pushing
6:56 musical breakdown of Dami's amazing rap part This part strikes the listener because all the instruments (electric guitar, drums, Dami's voice) except bass guitar (playing straight sixteenth notes) emphasize certain beats in the 4 4 measure. So if you count straight sixteenth notes 1e+a2e+a3e+a4e+a (one ee and uh two ee and uh three ee and uh four ee and uh), the emphasized beats would be 1 a + e 4 +. The emphasized notes on 1 a + e would each be held for three sixteenth notes (syncopated) and the emphasized notes on 4 + would each be held for an eight note aka two sixteenth notes (not syncopated). This can be grouped as 1e+ a2e +a3 e+a 4e +a (each first symbol of the group is an emphasized beat). The hard-hitting syncopated rhythm makes the listener feel as if they are being driven forward, making the build that much more effective. Also this rap part creates a nice contrast to the mellow (piano, vocals) section right after where the piano mostly plays half notes. in conclusion, dreamcatcher has fantastic music
Break the Wall was the song for me on this EP. Being a Rock fan, it made me feel like home. There’s a theory that the songs all have something missing in them, being the theme of Losing Myself.
But the SELF MADE MV... Is absolutely gorgeous, the cinematography is amazing, plot is so well planned, and encapsulates the meaning behind the song so well🤧
Im so thankful that Im dumb when it comes to technical aspect in music because I enjoy alot even in a simpliest chords/melody. I just love how music magically connects me. Music is art of mystery for me and I make music without rules or formula 😄
As a rock musician and rock listener before anything, Break the Wall is definitely one of my favorite songs from them. Although Dear is also one of my favorite ballads from them, but that might just be because Jiu wrote it.
In my opinion, from my ear musically, I believe that this album is such a vibe. Like I don't think this album was just about only the messages of each song but also more about the technique and extent they can go to in terms of imagination of the progressions like Dami's verse in Can't get you out of my mind and the pace in her verse in Break The Wall or even Gahyeon's rap verse in Boca... It's all just original in their own way 🤷♂️I love it This for me is probably of their greatest.
Y'all broke Break the Wall for me, now I can't unhear how much a high note would have SLAPPED in the middle chorus. It would have ascended the song into insane heights... Glad Kevin likes Boca now more. Anyway super indepth review, thank you!
nah we have to give Siyeon a break lmao she can't do so many high notes in one song, we need to protect her voice, and I like the ending, I wouldn't want to remove that
I really like the megaphone voice in "Break the wall"! That voice really feels like they're singing behind the wall. When the chorus starts without the megaphone, it's like the wall have been broken!
When I read the lyrics to Break the Wall I cried, it’s very rebellious and so inspiring. I’m a sucker for that kind of “break the rules/save the world” kinda thing. 💜💜💜
I know nothing about the technicalities of music, but the sound of 'Cant Get You Out of My Head' and 'Break the Wall' is very familiar from a western music perspective however they really stand out to me amongst what I usually hear in K-Pop
She said in a recent Q and A that she doesn't like the way she raps (which is ironic because she was a lead rapper in Minx, and is officially still the lead rapper of DC), and said that Gahyeon does it better than her anyway. She's happier being in the vocal line.
Well, after I disagreed with 75% of what Kevin said in his BOCA reaction, I do agree with 85% of what he says here. Funny how things can pan out. :) 'Dear' was my favorite b-side as well, especially since Dreamcatcher is not a group I usually connect with 'nice chords and harmonic progression'. I hope they do more in that direction. Overall, BOCA is probably still my favorite, but really, it is just so weird to compare those two very different songs. Which, in my opinion, shows how they have expanded musically.
Well, Jiu was the one that made the song. So it's only natural that it would sound completely different from what we're used to. But I agree, that song is just so beautiful and is also one of my favorites
@@Claire-td1ng We don't really know how large Jiu's influence on this song was. From what I extrapolated from the recent interviews, I assumed that she did a lot of melodic content, and Leez & Ollounder worked on the track, arranging etc. I personally think that most of the 'new sound' comes less from Jiu being the 'producer', and more from her vision or idea. Leez & Ollounder certainly have the range to cover this type of music. I don't know, however, if this is true, and a behind the scenes video would be so awesome...
@@ringelgollum I agree with you. Jiu's the last one listed on the arranger credits, which means she's the one who contributed the least in terms of arranging. But she's first in composing, which means she did the majority of the vocal melody. And yes, there's also the recent Q and A where she said that she sent her recording(?) of the song and left the rest (implying instrumentals) up to Leez and Ollounder.
For me Can't get out of my mind is my favorite song of the album because as an EDM fan and I like a lot EDM songs by Dreamcatcher like Silent Night in the frozen sleepwalking... It just brings me nostalgia and I was so happy that they made a 2013 house EDM song that reminds me of Zedd Swedish House Mafia and Avicii and I must say that I admire that house even though as you pointed that It isn't so experimental...
4:00 so did Kevin change his mind about Boca 😂 ? Edit : I agree so such with what Kevin pointed out about listening to the title after the intro ! I experienced that with Goldenchild's One ... both the song and the intro(take off) hit SO hard but I was listening to them once and one was accidentally played after the intro and I was so shook about how well they connect with eachother ! LIKE REALLY WELL !
I actually loved the whole album, my favorite is either BOCA or Break the Wall, but I love the 5 songs, how they flow together make them somehow greater, like "better than the sum of its parts" but yeah, I like weird stuff, but I'm kinda basic musically, I don't mind repetitive or common songs, I mean, the album feels "cool" but "easy" to listen to, its catchy, it's good, it's Dreamcatcher, c'mon, absolutely great, and Dear is one of the best ballads I've heard, I usually skip them cause I'm in a "faster" mood, but I just feel Dear so much, it is special, it feels from JiU to Insomnia, I teared up the first time I listened to it after reading the lyrics. Overall I love this album but again I love anything Dreamcatcher does. Kudos to Leez, Ollounder and JiU
If I had to guess, I'd say that the majority of people's favorite track would vary by when they grew up. I'm on the younger side of fans I think so cant get you out of my mind was definitely my favorite since it reminded me so much of the best of the pop I listened to when i was younger. I'm sure the same can be about slightly older fans, break the wall, and rock.
Seems to me the intention was to make a punch-less album. All the songs, except for boca maybe, are very smooth and easy-to-listen-to kinda? The bsides dont have many surprising progressions or changes but i think thats what they were going for. With boca in the album, they would have already enough of surprising chorus and outcomes lol
Break the wall and cgyoomm are comfort songs more than anything, I think. They both have this throwback sound that is familiar. Also, I think Break The Wall is like the....day before the revolution song instead of the mid-revolution song. It's the song to get people to come to the rally instead of in the middle of the rally.....if that....makes sense
The album overall for me is a grower..the mpre u spend time with it the more matures like fine wine~ i was so excoted seeing Kevin made the connection of the intro to boca~ cause i kinda had the same experience too xD still not my fav intro from them but it works so well for the album~! My fav on the album is still Boca tho xD As for break the wall~on first listen i lowkey didnt really enjoy it until i saw the live which somehow made me appreciate the muffled sound more as they were emulating breaking the wall through the muffled vocals and clear vocals on the chorus....i agree on the progression though.....more variety n different play on the chorus wouldve made it likeable on a first listen but upon seeing some metal reactors explain stuffs n reading comments it grew more to me but still what umu said if done on the live is gonna be sickk. Cant get you out of my mind kinda have a nostalgia trip for me so despite it non changing much musically i enjoyed the heck out of their vocals nuances in the song amd that made it my 2nd fav of the album....i'm curious on the vibe kevin wanted it to go into though.....the way he explains it sounda kinda cool too but singing dami in this track won me on it xD As for Dear, i was surprised kevin liked it that much lol as for me an average listener~i was putting this one wayyyy lower on my dc discography tier list but man have that thought changed the more i spend time with it, taking the lyrics into account also made it a good finisher to the album and such a sweet gift to us InSomnias
I went to buy my dystopia albums at Choice Music and they were all sold out 😭 but I will make sure to at least IG something when I finally am able to purchase the albums!
@@ReacttotheK oh my god but then again this album is their most sold albums to date doubling that of scream if im not mistaken so thats why it sold out so fast but damnn.....i wish ya best of luck on getting ur album! Though idk if u can find the S version around cause thats the best one and the photobook literally have every concept pics from the other vers amd comes with a mini dreamcatcher too of their lose myself logo xD
When judging/analysing Boca you need to consider the lyrics, the message is so important and needed, it highlights the fact that it isn't a "summer" song at all.
Do y'all ever notice how every intro has some tiny piece of the title song buried somewhere in it? For example this intro has the 4-note melody from the chorus of Boca played quietly at the beginning (or at least the same intervals).
I agree with Kevin the intro into BOCA definitely enhanced the experience that's the first way I listened to it and then the second time I just watched the music video and it was less impactful to me.
I love this album so much all songs are so good. Break The Wall became my most favorite Dreamcatcher song. I really love this as soon as I first heard it because I haven't heard something like this in K-pop and it reminds me a lot of Miku's Love is War not because it sounds the same but it just reminded me of it. Then when I watched the showcase I just figured out they used megaphones and then later on I read the lyrics. I feel that how they sing and the instrumental just goes well with the lyrics (I'm not a musician so I'm not pro with details), it doesn't have to be so grand but I feel the crying out to break the wall feels when listening to this.
Hi Umu, I was really interested in especially your take on this newest mini album from DC. I admit to being a DC superfan & think they've been on a roll all year starting with the best K-Pop album in years with ToL, but I also love LM ! "BOCA" is my favorite, but love all tracks. CGYOOMM is special, & "Break the Wall" sounds like it could be an Evanescence song(in a good way)! Strong finish with "Dear" by JiU!
I feel like I'm the only one who likes Can't get you out of my mind WAY more than Break the Wall. While I do appreciate a slow but powerful rock ballad, I agree that by the third chorus it feels stale. Can't get you out of my mind just feels really fun and high energy. To me, it's an even better summer song than Boca or any other song Dreamcatcher has made.
This was one of their weaker albums.I feel like in the bsides they went for a more nostalgic western sound. Which led for the songs being more simplistic. But break the wall is one of my favorite rock bsides of theirs. I can't complain much tho since they literally released my favorite kpop album earlier this year lol My ranking of their Korean albums 6. Escape the era(all the songs were good but there were no memorable songs) 5. Raid of Dreams (silent night is one of their best songs but I didn't vibe as much with the other songs) 4. Lose yourself (I generally loved all the songs) 3. The end of a nightmare (amazing) 2. Alone in the city (UNDERATTED) 1. The tree of language (perfection)
I’ve been waiting for the reaction to the intro for forever because I was wanting to know why it was so disarming( idk if that’s the right word) but the bass being on the off beat might explain that!
7:09 It seems to be an A# bending into B on the guitar over an F# and E in the piano. Key's E minor at that part, and the A# is a tritone so it sounds super unsettling despite it bending up into B rather quickly. Almost gives me Hungarian minor vibes. You could see it as using the II from Hungarian minor (F# chord as you said) and then going into i maybe? Super weird part either way.
CGYOOMM is my fave. it has maybe become my second fave dc track of all time it’s the perfect companion to when youre driving + the song reminds me of my childhood i love it
I really enjoy this mini album. It was solid on first listen but has grown on me the more I listened to it. None of the songs is my favorite but I enjoy them all and Break the Wall is definitely my guilty favorite.
Man ya'll are on crack, Break the Wall is one of their best this album, very Evanescence / Linkin Park like. They need to do more music like that, they are so good at it. This song is unique, we don't hear enough of it anymore, and for Dreamcatcher to do it is very unique, welcomed, and we want more.
Definitely agree with a lot of the things being said here. Both the praises and some of the criticisms. Thanks for taking the time to do like a 40 minute analysis of this mini album lol.
"Can't get you out of my mind" is my favorite b-side track from a whole album You know, Full English Lyrics And from the 1st verse, i know it's gonna be an edm song but i expected to be a future house like mike williams style I Kinda shock when hear the drop is Progressive House that kind of Alesso vibes..
While I'd say BOCA is easily a top 5 title track for them, this was definitely their weakest album in recent years, compared to the steady increase and variation they've been doing every album for quite some time. Especially after Scream's full album is was a downgrade but their lesser work is still very good. I'm excited for the finishing of this trilogy and what it'll bring musically.
@@songoftheyear7046 "more mainstream" for them is still not very mainstream which is why I like them so much and why neither of us is complaining lol. I would say it's better than some of their weaker pure rock tracks but not better than their better pure rock tracks so still top 5 but not on the higher end. It's them mixing music styles instead of having straight light and/or heavy rock for the entire song which they've been doing since deja vu last year I'd say. Deja Vu being a really good rock flavored ballad, Scream was very electronic and rock mixed, and now this uses the current summer song sound with a very distinct dreamcatcher rock element throughout (but especially the chorus) to make it theirs. And of course that matches the evolution of their b sides over the course of their whole groups discography. So we don't know what we'll get next! Very exciting ^^ I'm hoping we get like a winter rock theme for the next comeback but we'll see.
iluvdrakeandjosh and I agree with you on all points made. I love that even if they’ve dipped their toes on other music styles they’re still a rock and vocal group. I like them so much, I hope the fandom will grown even more.
Not sure if you both noticed but Can't get you out of my mind is the first full english song of Dreamcatcher. Oh, and for their last song Dear it has been Written and compose by Jiu and it's also a special song for the fans.
I always dislike it when the percussion /drums come in in ballads , but when there is none , it feels so boring and empty to me lol . I kind of don't know what kind of percussion sound I want to hear in a ballad song ...
Ok so I feel like the megaphone parts make u feel like they are actually singing behind a wall right next to u So that quieter ballad song sounds like it literally came straight from a kdrama ost.
15:36 If this was Umu's reaction to Dami singing just two lines, I wonder what she was like when the video of Dami singing Someone Like You surfaced...
I'm totally agree that Break The Wall need more oomph, pretty sure it won't have as much impact as Boca to general population if it were the title track, like so many people suggested.

oh that's such an interesting theory! I love that
That theory would be dope
Ironically, Handong's missing...
I think the lyrics for Break The Wall really elevate it. The song sounded more epic and even gave me goosebumps when I read the lyrics for it.
Same!!!!
It's all just original in their own way 🤷♂️I love it
This for me is probably of their greatest.
Y'all broke Break the Wall for me, now I can't unhear how much a high note would have SLAPPED in the middle chorus. It would have ascended the song into insane heights... Glad Kevin likes Boca now more. Anyway super indepth review, thank you!
nah we have to give Siyeon a break lmao she can't do so many high notes in one song, we need to protect her voice, and I like the ending, I wouldn't want to remove that
Break the wall for me like Linkin park , breaking benjamin ...nu metal ..
24:32 If Jiu watch this she may tear up😂
i know rght 😭
Yesss
A lot of their songs are also very lyrically valuable, so break the wall may seem “tired” but with the context of the lyrics it seems rightfully so.
I really like the megaphone voice in "Break the wall"! That voice really feels like they're singing behind the wall. When the chorus starts without the megaphone, it's like the wall have been broken!
Break the wall should be a AOT op
I already edited some anime op's with it. I have to try AOT 😄.
They did break into a new world
@@jennarusso6043 i would love to check it out
@@meriem-oi1nh are you on Instagram?
@@jennarusso6043 yep
When I read the lyrics to Break the Wall I cried, it’s very rebellious and so inspiring. I’m a sucker for that kind of “break the rules/save the world” kinda thing. 💜💜💜
I know nothing about the technicalities of music, but the sound of 'Cant Get You Out of My Head' and 'Break the Wall' is very familiar from a western music perspective however they really stand out to me amongst what I usually hear in K-Pop
I’m happy that Sua now appears to be a permanent member of the vocal line as opposed to wobbling between vocal and rap.
She said in a recent Q and A that she doesn't like the way she raps (which is ironic because she was a lead rapper in Minx, and is officially still the lead rapper of DC), and said that Gahyeon does it better than her anyway. She's happier being in the vocal line.
But i do want to hear sua's rap just one last time.. ive been waiting for one since good night.. just one last time..
she's the ace of Dreamcatcher, she can do everything and anything she wants
There's something nostalgic about can't get you out my mind..
Well, after I disagreed with 75% of what Kevin said in his BOCA reaction, I do agree with 85% of what he says here. Funny how things can pan out. :)
'Dear' was my favorite b-side as well, especially since Dreamcatcher is not a group I usually connect with 'nice chords and harmonic progression'.
I absolutely love Can’t get you out of my mind I don’t know why it gives me such a nostalgic feel.
This person Edms
Yeah, when I first heard can’t get you out of my mind I thought of a zedd song too!
LIKE REALLY WELL !
he's like me,,not really into it when the first listen 😩
Me 3
I actually loved the whole album, my favorite is either BOCA or Break the Wall, but I love the 5 songs, how they flow together make them somehow greater, like "better than the sum of its parts" but yeah, I like weird stuff, but I'm kinda basic musically, I don't mind repetitive or common songs, I mean, the album feels "cool" but "easy" to listen to, its catchy, it's good, it's Dreamcatcher, c'mon, absolutely great, and Dear is one of the best ballads I've heard, I usually skip them cause I'm in a "faster" mood, but I just feel Dear so much, it is special, it feels from JiU to Insomnia, I teared up the first time I listened to it after reading the lyrics. Overall I love this album but again I love anything Dreamcatcher does. Kudos to Leez, Ollounder and JiU
the transition between dami's rap and jiu's part on break the wall just so smooth..
Dreamcatcher - cant get you out my mind is good, love music
Seems to me the intention was to make a punch-less album. All the songs, except for boca maybe, are very smooth and easy-to-listen-to kinda? The bsides dont have many surprising progressions or changes but i think thats what they were going for. With boca in the album, they would have already enough of surprising chorus and outcomes lol
React to minx, dreamcatchers ironic dark past
I've already heard all Minx songs! ngl I really dig Why Did You Come to My Home xP
@@ReacttotheK I like minx songs, but it's so cursed to see the mvs lmao
@@dilfhunter19 true lol it's like seeing dreamcatcher on another parallel universe
love the irony here, intentional or not.
Dreamcatcher presented us with two of the best albums of the year so far ! Thanks. From N.Y.
It actually does. Couldn't have put it better.
Umu!! Your hair color is amazing!!
The album overall for me is a grower..the mpre u spend time with it the more matures like fine wine~ i was so excoted seeing Kevin made the connection of the intro to boca~ cause i kinda had the same experience too xD still not my fav intro from them but it works so well for the album~! My fav on the album is still Boca tho xD
As for break the wall~on first listen i lowkey didnt really enjoy it until i saw the live which somehow made me appreciate the muffled sound more as they were emulating breaking the wall through the muffled vocals and clear vocals on the chorus....i agree on the progression though.....more variety n different play on the chorus wouldve made it likeable on a first listen but upon seeing some metal reactors explain stuffs n reading comments it grew more to me but still what umu said if done on the live is gonna be sickk.
Cant get you out of my mind kinda have a nostalgia trip for me so despite it non changing much musically i enjoyed the heck out of their vocals nuances in the song amd that made it my 2nd fav of the album....i'm curious on the vibe kevin wanted it to go into though.....the way he explains it sounda kinda cool too but singing dami in this track won me on it xD
As for Dear, i was surprised kevin liked it that much lol as for me an average listener~i was putting this one wayyyy lower on my dc discography tier list but man have that thought changed the more i spend time with it, taking the lyrics into account also made it a good finisher to the album and such a sweet gift to us InSomnias
BOCA has made me appreciate me all their other title songs
break the wall reminds me of all the 00s rock music I still listen to, it's a bop and a half
Do y'all ever notice how every intro has some tiny piece of the title song buried somewhere in it? For example this intro has the 4-note melody from the chorus of Boca played quietly at the beginning (or at least the same intervals).
Me: Can't get you out of my mind best B-side ever
Also me: Didn't know it's full English for aorund 20 listens
I agree with Kevin the intro into BOCA definitely enhanced the experience that's the first way I listened to it and then the second time I just watched the music video and it was less impactful to me.
Ah, and so it begins.
THIS ALBUM IS AMAZING!!!! Dreamcatcher deserve more
Wish Handong was in the album.
I can't complain much tho since they literally released my favorite kpop album earlier this year lol
My ranking of their Korean albums
6. Escape the era(all the songs were good but there were no memorable songs)
5. Raid of Dreams (silent night is one of their best songs but I didn't vibe as much with the other songs)
4. Lose yourself (I generally loved all the songs)
3. The end of a nightmare (amazing)
2. Alone in the city (UNDERATTED)
1. The tree of language (perfection)
AMAZING! Break the wall showcase video version! So glad
I love Evanescence and Zedd so this album is great for me.
Yay, I was waiting for this reaction!
I can't get over Can't get you out of my mind
I’ve been waiting for the reaction to the intro for forever because I was wanting to know why it was so disarming( idk if that’s the right word) but the bass being on the off beat might explain that!
I love this channel! 💕💕
CGYOOMM is my fave. it has maybe become my second fave dc track of all time
it’s the perfect companion to when youre driving + the song reminds me of my childhood i love it
Can't get you out of my mind reminds me of avicii's type of song
For me, what matter is the message that the songs were conveying.
29:50 i knew you would say that 😂😂
31:10 now that you've metioned it, i actually wanna hear siyeon do it 😳😳
Break the Wall just screams anime movie with somber/sad ending to me. Love it.
Great review! As always!
I always find myself watching Umu's DC reactions again and again and again, especially when DC is on hiatus. 💖
I really enjoy this mini album. It was solid on first listen but has grown on me the more I listened to it. None of the songs is my favorite but I enjoy them all and Break the Wall is definitely my guilty favorite.
Dear is also my fav B-side from this album, glad to know that I'm not the only one :)
Break the wall is a killer sing-along song. The predictability of the chorus helps in a live setting to get the audience engaged.
드림캐쳐 리액션 늘 챙겨봅니다, 한글 자막까지 너무 감사합니다🥰😍
Man ya'll are on crack, Break the Wall is one of their best this album, very Evanescence / Linkin Park like. They need to do more music like that, they are so good at it. This song is unique, we don't hear enough of it anymore, and for Dreamcatcher to do it is very unique, welcomed, and we want more.
Omg finally 🙏 thank you
Definitely agree with a lot of the things being said here. Both the praises and some of the criticisms. Thanks for taking the time to do like a 40 minute analysis of this mini album lol.
except for Boca, Dear definitely my favorite of the album! that JiU's ending part was so precious to me TT but every other songs still slaps
Im really wating for your reaction!!! Very thanks
Can't get you of of my mind is like the perfect pop song for me; absolutely love it 👌
"Can't get you out of my mind" is my favorite b-side track from a whole album
You know, Full English Lyrics
And from the 1st verse, i know it's gonna be an edm song but i expected to be a future house like mike williams style
I Kinda shock when hear the drop is Progressive House that kind of Alesso vibes..
I agree, but i think it's because they focused more on the full album since it's their first and since only full albums are given awards
More like mainstream. Not complaining
@@thegreatunknown8574 I think Korean awards consider albums with at least 6 songs, not including intros or remixes/instrumentals.
Not sure if you both noticed but Can't get you out of my mind is the first full english song of Dreamcatcher. Oh, and for their last song Dear it has been Written and compose by Jiu and it's also a special song for the fans.
와 9분전이네😆😆😆 봐야징
I always dislike it when the percussion /drums come in in ballads , but when there is none , it feels so boring and empty to me lol . I kind of don't know what kind of percussion sound I want to hear in a ballad song ...
yesssss I've been waiting for this!!💓
Ok so I feel like the megaphone parts make u feel like they are actually singing behind a wall right next to u
So that quieter ballad song sounds like it literally came straight from a kdrama ost.
15:36 If this was Umu's reaction to Dami singing just two lines, I wonder what she was like when the video of Dami singing Someone Like You surfaced...

break the wall gives me paramore vibes and i love it
I'm rewatching this first listen and reading the comments.... I'm the only one that got the reference to Pendulum's Blood Sugar at 2:19?
Again Umu fangirling over Dreamcatcher and Kevin being Kevin😆😋
Break the wall gives me NANA's vibes

they didn't clock that one guitar harmonizing to Siyeon's run in the last part in break the wall
and CGYOOMM is in FULL ENGLISH TOO

I'm totally agree that Break The Wall need more oomph, pretty sure it won't have as much impact as Boca to general population if it were the title track, like so many people suggested.
I can't with Kevin's face
