Thank you for the video! I just went to get covid tested today and when I put down the window do to grab the covid test the window dropped to the bottom of my door. I don't have a regulator yet, but with this video I was able to bring the window backup and slide Some pieces of metal into the window to keep it up for now until I get a regulator.

Some advice guys...if the window is down and you're trying to replace the regulator...you can't lift the window.Follow the cables from the motor to each corner of the window...and cut them with a wire Cutter. They look like brake cables on a bicycle....then there isn't any tension on the widow.
I do have a question about the tools, I don't have a socket set, but it seems like from comments and reviews on Amazon I can use a regular one and don't need to get an electric one. Is this correct? Update: Figured it out! Clicked link in description for Amazon part (used) $38, found socket set at Dollar Tree $5, also purchased clip removal tool $7 but did not use/need. Already had screwdriver, used cardboard from box regulator came in to hold glass in place. Basically fixed myself for under $50!!!

I'm trying to install led strips in my 2012 Chevy in my front and rear doors how can I fit the led strip from the back of the door panel through to the front side of the door panel its really a tight fit for me and suggestions?
Thanks for the video. Watching it I realized changing the regulator is simpler than I thought and I decided to do it myself on my Chevy Cruze 2018. One question though - I bought the trim removal tool, but I'm not sure how to use it - how do I find where the fasteners are, and what do I do once I find them? That part is not clear in the video.
@@joelthepizzawizard493 i just pryed from the top where the panel seemed it was wanting to come off from.. then worked my way down.. then later watched a bunch of videos. just to make sure when the part comes in tomorrow i do it right lol. stup 5 cent plastic clip breaks the whole thing.

I've only ever switched my wiper blades, as far as car do-it-yourself things, but I decided to at least check if this might be something I can tackle in this the information age lol. Well everything seems to work fine except that the 2 clips that the window sits in the rubber part are cracked so they are not able to hold the window and bring it down. I just need the rubber seats. I don’t need the whole assembly. Is it possible to buy it separately from the clips. Thanks
Same exact process for the 2016 cruze lt fyi.. but apparently is slightly different for the 2016. Odd how they never improved the design over several years to keep the clips from snapping off.

Your video was really helpful and easy to follow. I just replaced mines for my 2015 Cruz yesterday before it started raining. The connectors had these red and blue plastic slides you had to pull out carefully to detach the connectors. Also I made sure the windows were align with the rubbers on the regulator. I’ll know what to do next time the other windows need a replacement. I bought mines with a new motor attached. The plastic clip from the regulator broke. I’ll try to keep in mind to see if I can reuse the old motor like the previous comment. Part without motor was running $50 on Amazon vs $103 with the motor from OReilys. Thank u.
You may have to remove your door panel off, but I have got the window up and propped wood to keep the window up. I have also used duct tape to prevent the window from falling down until my regulator came in.
Purchased regulator from autozone now get error message advising to roll window down, then all the way up. Was told it’s due to it being aftermarket motor. Any fix to get the error message off? Would have purchased part from dealership if I had known!

There is always a possibility of that, but more than likely the cable in the window regulator broke. The frost put more of a load on the cable, which may cause it to break. You could always remove your door panel and inspect the assembly before ordering a regulator.
No. I mean there's a 'chance' of winning the lottery, or seeing a UFO, but unless you don't want your hopes crushed it's just about positive that your regulator is hosed.

Yes, it sounds like the cable in the regulator broke. I normally just buy the whole assembly. You may be able to buy just the regulator and switch the motor, but that is more trouble then it is worth in my opinion.
@@CarAddictGarage the piece that clamps the window and drive cable broke off leaving the cable loose, the bad part was that it broke with the window down. The good news is that I was able to replace the regulator two days later, really surprised how easy it was.
This helped me fix my window kinda. Some little black piece came out of the inside and now it won't roll up and down automatically but I've got it up and with the rain coming I'm grateful thanks!

I’m not a car person so this was of no help to me. Everything said here was common sense. I needed the how not the what. Every time he said you need to remove this I’m like, ok, how? Then he just move on to the next thing I needed to remove without explaining how.

You don't have to specifically pry it off those points.

What of the window doesn’t go up and down ?
My driver side window is stuck down. It wont roll up. Is there a way I can rig the window up? I use my vehicle for work. Any advice would help.

Had the reg replaced at a shop now the car horn wont chirp when locked. And it says roll window up and down to close message from time to time.
