I'm proudly watching this on my OnePlus 3T. This phone is amazing. Major props to OnePlus for making a truly near perfect phone for way less money than those it directly competes with.
I'm from India, case, plus oneplus 3 in India comes with 1 year accidental damage cover from drop, water and some other cases, and you only have to way Rs.1000 ($15) and get your display fixed, other than that, nothing to pay. also its a door to door service.. so this cover, plus insurance, i'm good to go till OP5(yup, that's my next upgrade)
the one that comes with the phone is just a piece of plastic or something, just to prevent scratches, and the one that comes from OnePlus will have curved edges, or one which doesn't have any holes in the glass. So no, it isn't either of those.
It definitely looks like the Rhinoshield impact protection screen protector. It clearly doesn't provide full coverage, and helps this phone stay undamaged. This is a pretty misleading video considering it's using a screen protector.

Who would have thought that at a certain height, a phone using a protection case would still break. My perception of life has changed forever after seeing this video. Luckily I haven't dropped my OnePlus 3 from any height yet and wont ever try to do it on purpose ...
I think what did it in at the end wasn't the height, but the angle. All the prior drops were pretty much corner hits. That last one landed more on its face. I'd be interested to see if it would've lasted through similar face hits from the lower heights.

The trouble with these tests are that a lot depends on how the phone lands. You'd need multiple drops from each height to really prove anything because it makes a big difference if it lands on the screen, the back or one of the corners. On amazon a lot of people say this case doesn't fit snugly or i'd get one.

I feel like the main reason it broke on the 3rd story drop was because it was the only drop where the phone landed almost flat. It immediately rebounded and hit on both sides almost simultaneously unlike previous tests where it hit a corner and bounced. I'm not saying it would have survived a corner hit, but I firmly believe the way it landed did more damage than the height of the drop, But that's just my opinion. Still a cool video.
I ordered one of these for my new pixel but I have to wait a couple weeks and I can't wait for it so I can see my phone and skin without worrying about damaging it
you shoud test it by dropping it from normal level on the display maybe. besides, a screen protector additional would probably makes it even more robust. informative video, thanks
It would have cracked right on the first drop if you'd have dropped the frontside surface down like the last one instead of leaving the ph vertically. though you did the same in the last drop either but it came to be the facedown somehow.
Once, at work, I dropped a computer screen on my 1+1. (Yes, I know...) The screen protection had some tear. But the phone seemed alright. Though, since that day, the functions are getting worse with time; 3G/4G connexion loss after random time, communications with horrible reverb,... What I mean is: The result of a drop isn't always visible. Sometimes it's only the internal part that seem to suffer. (But anyway, that Rhino thing seems to do good job)

can do some speed tests and call them real life speed tests or something and eliminate all the apps that we never use ( games, video rendering and all that and just use apps and see what times will you get android vs iphone???

I dropped my 3t in a spigen case on concrete once and it cracked the screen and wouldn't turn on anymore.
