May 4th, 2017 -- For my 51st outing of the year and second day of fishing in Charleston, SC, my fellow KastKing brand ambassador Dar Darcy and I go on the hunt for the "fish with human teeth." A.k.a. the Sheepshead!!! I can't recall how many times I have failed to catch such a fish; thus, I was determined that day. Even better...besides the Sheepshead, a few other surprises showed up as well. :)

I must've missed you by a week or two because I was just down there last week staying in a condo right in that background, I caught a huge sheepshead right out there on the D dock along with a trout and flounder. Always enjoy your vids but wish I could've been down there when you were!
Also, nice to see the identification of the Atlantic silverside, I caught one in my cast-net and wasn't sure what it was

Use to go fishing in sheepshead bay. I use the term fishing loosely, more like "I use to feed the sheepshead(and porgy) crab in sheepshead bay".
I caught some sheepshead the other day and we didn’t know they don’t like jigs, so they never hit our poles with jigheads and live shrimp, but they did hit the one pole we had out with a small bluegill hook. On 4 lb test. Took us 10 minutes to pull in a sheepshead!

I believe the Sheepshead is called a Convict Fish because of the black stripes, like a convict, not because they might steal your bait.

For sheepshead you really don’t have to set the hook, it will just pull on the hook and set it themselves. Also you can use frozen or live shrimp for bait too

Male fiddler crabs just like to show off the length of their "appendages" for the ladies ;) It's a trait that evolved primarily for the sake of mating. The idea is that larger pincers mean the male will be better at defending the female while she carries the eggs prior to them hatching.
