      Steve is not a bad character per se, but yes he is more difficult in T8 than T7. Keep at it, guv gang strong!😎🥊

    Anyone else think steve is really tough to play with in this game against evasive chars. It seems like almost every character has high and some mid crushing launchers in this game and with heat if they catch you once youre dead. It makes it really really tough to play steve especially if they have good keepout moves. Also the uninterruptable attacks in this game are crazy and are also a real problem to deal with as steve

      I hear you,
      Steve is significantly more tougher to play, not only against evasive players, but players that turtle a lot (at least for me right now).
      Being patient is the first step. Observing how they like to approach or what they like to do as you are on the offensive. Then think how to work around it.
      Mids with low hitting hitboxes are definitely your best friend against evasive playstyles (for exampel: df2, ws1). It's good using lateral movement as well, it is a lot stronger in this game compared to T7. Throwbreaking and getting minor punishes here and there add up big time.
      All of this is of course easier said then done and it is tough from time to time. I understand the feeling.
      Much respect for playing steve, guv gang!

      @triqlead thanks for the tips. I appreciate it. I notice that df 2 is just a bit too slow and too short-range, to interrupt people who do controlled spam and then occasionally backdash in between strings. I don't understand why he can't have a normal mid counter hit launcher. No more sinds, he's a counter hit char, and every character in the game has good mid counter hit launchers except steve now. B1 is great but only against 10 percent of the cast in this game. Could you make a heat combo video? btw?

    • @triqlead
      @triqlead  5 месяцев назад +1

      @warfighter1988 If you want to fast midcheck, df1 is always the better option.
      A lot of the spam have openings somewhere, it is of course frustrating when there is so much to be aware of.
      df2 is one of the better moves Steve has. 16 frame start up is pretty good. It hits at around range 2,40-2,55 ish, which is quite far. On counterhit guarantees ws1,2 which equals to 44 dmg. Four of those and the opponents healthbar is gone. The only bad thing about it is its liniarity though. In general throwing it out at around range 2,00-2,50 is good. If at pointblank range, preferably when you have frame advantage. And especially when the opponent is abusing high crushing options.
      It all depends on the situation, but these are general ideas without writing a novel :)
      I appreciate the request, I haven't been focusing on heat combos as of yet. I'm sure there are videos covering that. I find poking during heat and wiff punishing to regain health very strong with Steve though.

      Thanks for the tips I always standard go for df 2 and sometimes with back turn chars sonic fang, but I notice that a lot of chars actually have mid evasive properties that go straight under df 1 and slide past df 2. 2 examples are lars his orbital that goes straight past my df 1 and Leo's duck move goes straight under my df 2. Also, jin has steve mid evasion when he does his bullshit stance, zafina even crushes sonic fang when she's in her spider stance and the list goes on and on. I have no idea what to do against those type of chars

      @triqlead  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah, it's frustrating. The mind game becomes more of when do they use evasive stuff. I also lack knowledge of zafina and somewhat lars. They used to be a lot more liniar but i don't know if that is the case anymore.

    What are the parry inputs?

    • @triqlead
      @triqlead  5 месяцев назад

      Basic punch parry, b1+3 or b2+4.
      In peekaboo pressing 2 has a sabaki punch parry built in.
      Lionheart in heat parries mids in to clinch.
