Think this is a word play on how the roman republic just elect two dudes to be roman consul and they take turns to hold the fascis (the axe wood rod thingy) like how the sisters take turns to confuse you?
@@Rafael57YT You'd be surprised, but there's actually a lot of variety and power to royalty-free music. There're plenty of great tracks hiding out there for people to use in their projects; and, from my experience at least, there are Japanese soundbanks which are doing a tremendous work working with a diverse host of composers and providing music that doesn't sound like stock music. I haven't researched that fact or anything, but it wouldn't surprise me if there was a bit of a tradition for creating BGMs in certain circles in Japan (just like there's a specific culture around the development of doujin games) If you're curious and would like another example of a banger track you'd never guess was royalty-free (outside of Higurashi's OST), one that's been blowing my mind to this day is Nagi/凪 by MoppySound. It was popularized by Japanese dev CHARON using it in the games MehneRafflesia and Cradle of Ruin and goes _absurdly_ hard - it's a layered piece with a vibe that's both grand and melancholy. Looking it up and tracing it back to a royalty-free website was quite a shock.
A perfect presentation of the feeling Keiichi has in this scene - that he's about to die in one of the most gruesome ways possible. Also loved when this played in Chapter 3 with the Irie betrayal. Probably one my favourite tracks in the Higu OST.
Right? It's weird because overall Kai definitely has a more diverse and superior OST, but there are a few standouts from arcs 1-4 -- Fascism being right at the top of the list.
