I loved and still love so much the Genesis' "Gabriel years", but when he left (I was in my teens) I lived it almost like a betrayal... Then came his first solo album and I was a bit older and something began comin' to my mind... Then came the Peter Gabriel IV tour, and I was a young man, and I saw him live, and the big picture was finally clear to my mind: he had to escape a place where his music, his inspiration and his aspirations would have had no future. Genesis became a mammoth business for the huge masses and Peter became one of the most brilliant and powerful creative artists ever. All my love and respect for him. 💖
we needed them both, we love them their creations their ways i just wish to thanks for all the music because the music is the best and their music has been the top
Simply amazing, perfect in such a sublimely imperfect way. I saw this tour in NYC. Had chills in many parts. Don’t Give Up, made me cry like a child. My wife is terminally ill so it hit home. But anyway was such a gift to have seen it.
I'm a huge Gabriel fan, since he started his career. But I think the Sting/Paul Simon show takes the cake. Their set list on that show was absolutely phenomenal!
This interchange showed the difference between great and incomparable. Gabriel is a funny story teller, with a great grasp on absurdity. Sting is a self centred egotistical solipsist. Sting definitely tried to turn Gabriel into a fall guy for his gags.
This is one song where the pacing of the original is integral. Why he would change it to a bloated, meandering piece and change the DRUMS... One can only imagine.
t's funny to me how Sting tries to be still young, tight wardrobe, muscles, dyed hair, Peter is relaxed, shaved head, overweight but I hope we know who is the genius here
That drummer had such a good opportunity at 5:31 , and he just had to fuck it up... I would have sworn that any drummer playing this song would live for that moment... oh well...

Wow! two incredible artists/voices on the same stage - two of my favs in truth
We need this tour on a live album!
Seriously though. They did such a great job. I saw them in Columbus on this tour.
100%!! Loved this tour, and I'm sure they filmed & recorded it.

Peter has a wicked sense of humor XD
Fantastic
Works so well all we now need is the new album please Peter
Please
Saw them in Camden NJ. Perhaps the greatest concert I have ever seen/heard....
Fantastic to see them sharing the stage with their respective bands. Thank your for the upload !
Music Legends,absolut poetry💞
Wow loss for words

I was waiting for Peter to do the bit where he puts the light bulb in his mouth and it glows.
Like uncle Fester? That is awesome.
I was broke when they were touring , and it saddens me that I probably won’t get that chance again
These videos are a small consolation.
I love seeing and hearing Peter Gabriel and Sting performing together! Just wonderful! Wow!

Amazing job keeping it all in the frame! You have some serious focus when 2 icons are showing off RIGHT in front of you, haha.

The original is supreme.. collins on drums..
Hate to say it but it's inevitably lost the power of the original
@@rachelar the power, the voices, the chorus, everything. This version sucks
Power yoga 💪 but I look past the physical..........it’s in the eyes 👀 Great sound ! New album please ❤️
pretty cool
Klasse
All 1st class baby
Can't figure out why Pete doesn't do (walk through the fire) live
Never Heard about this Tour!!
Has it ever been released..?
Great..
Nice
Amo el humor la ironía inglesa...
❤️❤️
Sting has been her twice, Gabriel never in Bergen, kongen, together.... To genius in the summer iht.
When in FRANCE ???
should have recorded this live back in 1980 with Phil Collins, Kate Bush an Robert Fripp.
Coño deja a phill en paz.. que no eres musico
Never seen it.amazing.i seen peter but never with genesis.he is still better than phil.
I like a bit faster. Larry Faster. Then it kinda gets Pert.
Gabriel te supera sting deja de tocarte nariz...gabriel estß gordito y qyñu
Globalist Rock !
Non riesco a guardarli. Sadness.
Studio versoon is SUPERB. This one sucks. Sorry Mr. Gabriel, but you kill one of your masterpieces
Miguel Angel Prieto everything about This version sucks... Totally agree
I think if you take this duet performance at face value then its ok but can't definitely compare it to studio version. That would be absurd.
@@JoseFernandez-fq8yl this version sucks, even if you want or don't want to compare with the studio version. But the original is a masterpiece.

if peter were s onstage with phil collins then it would be hard to tell them apart
not
10 cm difference
terrible sound quality
Mala reproduccion de sting y gabriel...

Agreed.
Whithout master Phil behind the kit these things are bound to happen
I was at this show, I never noticed until now. Whose fault is it? Sting's drummer or Peter's?
Agreed. One of the greatest drum fills in recorded history and he doesn't go for it.
The whole version has nothing to do with the brilliant original song

I like milk.
