  • This calculus video tutorial provides a basic introduction into l'hopital's rule. It explains how to use l'hopitals rule to evaluate limits with trig functions, fractions, exponential functions with e^x and natural log functions such as ln(x). To use l'hopital's rule, you need to take the derivative of the numerator and denominator of the fraction any time you have an indeterminate form as a result of direct substitution.
