For chipping all you need to know is your magic number. To get your magic number go to practice hole - go near green and chip towards the flag. Lets say distance was 40y and you hit e.g. 30%SW and wind up at 36y (4y short). Subtract actual distance from used % and mark. In this case 36-30 = 6. Go around the green try different distances for the same lie. Say you need 24y - you hit e.g. 20% and wind up at 26y. Again - 26-20 = 6. Now you know your magic number is 6 for your SW from fairway lies. What does that mean? Well you simply add your number to the yardage and you have the exact percentage you need to use on your SW. E.g. you need to get 42y and your magic number is 6. Simply add 6 to 42 and you get 48 - the % you need to get the ball within inches without taking weather, and stance into consideration.. Do the same for sand and for rough and you will end up with three numbers to remember. Mine are 5 for fairway, 8 for rough and 15 for sand. Finally check the influences of wind, especially for ranges over 10y. And of course - do not forget to record what happens when adding top and bottom spin. What happens when you e.g. add one, two or even three backspin in all lies and positions? Also there is the question of elevation and weather conditions in general. Test it ALL and register what happens in your personal log. Remember your magic number changes once you change your stats - especially power and stamina. If you made stats adjustments recalibrate your chipping. I took this class from the GM of TheHive (and I cannot thank him enough). O, and your number can be negative like in this vid it is -10 for A_IN_NS apparantly. So to hit 42 yards he needs -10 = 32%.

You can use any club. You enter charted distances in the worksheet. Cheers, A

You can not eyeball a chip. This is only for short shots where using the target circle is not possible.

I test this one on Sky Hanul 72 - before i try - i type in all the club distances in the sheet (sw/aw/pw). I take MS Excel for it. from 9 tests with the sheet - 8 failed clearly. No one was nearer then 4 or 5 yds to the pin. what i miss is also the height or when it goes down, thats something i dont understand cause this is the biggest fact of all. when the chip goes down it have to be shorter, when it goes up - wider... Sorry but the Calculator is useless for my belongings..

What kind of SW are you using because every SW hits different distances.

cant work - why? this calculator doesnt calculates wind, breaks, up and downs.. Every Hole is different, and you play never on the same position again... Cant work... Sorry. Only can work on flat surfaces or absolute flat greens...
