Very cool transformation. Sounds great and cool story to go along with it !
@@henrylawhon9830 thanks man! I'm glad you dig it
Good Lord this guitar sounds AMAZING!!!!!❤
@@jeffreyfoster4260 thanks so much!!
Fantastic guitar & restoration. Here in the UK, it’s well known that due to the Hank Marvin effect some dealers would refinish Strats with Fiesta red. I’m no expert but the brief shots look like that was the original colour which is great. Interestingly, my first knowledge of Hank & Strats was in the film The Young Ones with Cliff Richard around 1962. Hank is known for playing Fiesta Red with Maple neck but in the film he played a Strat with a Rosewood neck. My young self became obsessed with it. Right now I own a ‘62 AVRI in Olympic White & a ‘61 Vintage 2 in Fiesta Red. Well done for giving that Strat a new working life. 😁
@@denbodg9311 thanks so much! Yeah this was either a Marvin refin or factory I believe. I love it either way!!
Wow man! The strat turned out great!
@@brianyarbrough1720 thanks man!!
That's a lovely guitar! So nice that you restored that '62 Strat! So glad it has found you!
@@strumminronin thanks so much!
Awesome!!
What a cool story this guitar has. Sounds and looks great too mate
@@liamwalton8759 thanks for checking it out!!
That sounds great and looks awesome. I have a quick question. I am from Jacksonville NC and need to get a guitar stripped down to bare wood and then repainted. Not sure where to go for this and am looking for suggestions. Want someone that has experience and is known for great work. I am willing to travel a bit if necessary for the right person. Thank you for any suggestions.
@@roderickmarcum8945 thanks man! Darrell Guinn in Greer, SC is awesome and you can always rely on MJT aged guitar finishes. They do stripping and refins
What a awesome video have a wonderful weekend ❤😊
@@aminahmed2220 thanks!!
Maybe I missed it but what pickups are the brdge and middle ?
@@malcolmhardwick4258 I used the bridge and middle from a set of Lindy Fralin Vintage Hots from 1999. Bought them when I was 14.
Am I crazy for liking it more before
@@tannermcintosh1071 Nah, everyone has a preference
Nope that was a badass before!!!
why did u change it to the red 🥲🥲, it looked way cooler before
@@iaminsfiredbytrustfration8502 that was the original color. Fiesta Red is one of the most iconic finishes Fender ever produced.
Thanks for getting rid of that green. That's one of the worst finishes I've seen, and I've seen a lot.
I have a '61 and a '64. NFS!
@@danamcreynolds9456 thanks man!! I'm glad you dig it!
So how did the fiesta red finish get on the guitar, and what is the deal with the dirty pick guard and paint chips? Did you do a fresh relic on a 62 Strat?
@@waynehicks1969 Yes I had MJT Aged finishes refinish the body with a medium relic to match the neck. I already had the pickguard for many years and I put all the salvaged electronics in there and let Mojotone do a really slick wire up
@@waynehicks1969 Also I sent MJT 3 examples of vintage Fiesta Strats for reference. You could imagine how ridiculous a mint body would look with that amazingly worn neck. I wanted the guitar to look as it would if it had been played with the original finish. Now it's perfect for me and my stage performances.
@@justincodyfox I can't say that I completely agree with you. Guitars, especially Fender guitars don't naturally age that way. Only guitars that haven't been cared for properly. The guitar did have a refin, but appeared in much better condition before the restoration.
