  • Every week, Eco India brings you stories that inspire you to build a cleaner, greener and better tomorrow.
Social enterprise Urban Mali employs migrant farmers to tend home gardens in Bengaluru. The farmers’ indigenous skill sets are a gift to city-dwellers who lack a green thumb, and now enjoy the benefits of an organic garden.

Village farmer as the extension arm of Urban Mali is a wonderful idea. We get experienced gardeners to work on the gardens of urban people.

Definitely a trend that needs to catch on for people to adopt "functional" plants and gardens, this video shows that. However it's also a little confusing and seems almost like a paid promotion/ partnership for the businesses involved ;) It began and ended with the story of the farmer, with a lot more facetime of business achievements and gardens. Nothing wrong, simply an observation.

It’s better for Indian “migrants” to migrate within India - shows India is offering opportunities for their own instead of losing people to other countries

Did Bengaluru got name from benga tree? Not sure. Please validate the statement from Dr Ganesh Babu ( 8:10).
