Punctuality: Departed 18 minutes behind schedule. | Arrived 30 minutes late due to incident.
Today, I take a train journey on one of ScotRail's Inter7City HST's. There are not many HST's left in service around the UK, so why not try one whilst they're some still in service up in Scotland?
Not just that, I go ahead and try one in FIRST CLASS! I get a bit of a surprise with the seat comfort, but are these the BEST FIRST CLASS seats that I have ever sat on? Watch to find out!

Thanks, Ian! Yeah, it's a shame that passenger got funny with me but I thought the best course of action was to move away further down the coach.
I've always liked the HSTs, great trains which revolutionised passenger travel when they were first introduced in the late 1970s

Seats great, but no catering is, for me, a big fail. If I was ever to travel 1st by choice, there woud need to be some kind of set service catering. I mean, what exactly consitutes a decent 1st Class ? After all a decent seat is a reasonable expectation for anyone who's paying to travel , whatever class.
Yeah I totally agree, at least have complimentary catering instead of just the nicer seats. It's not worth it otherwise to be honest.
