I use the instax wide to create a diary of the year I glue in a book. Take it it to our family Christmas gathering and everyone just loves looking back the past year.
Would you mind telling me how you compose the diary? Is it a one picture a day thing or how does it work? I'm looking for ideas as someone just getting into the hobby.
I love you just DUMPING on the other photographers bashing on "Instagram photographers." I'm in a local photography group in my city and there's a bunch of older guys who have been doing phtoography their whole life who ALWAYS shit on people and question everyone because they think they're better or have more experience. Yet when I see their images they just shoot in a studio, with studio lighting, and it looks the same as my highschool year book photos. THAT's a whole new type of photographer that I see a lot and they're annoying. Anyways.. great video and I love the zine idea!!!
Honestly they should be really lucky they can make a living and it’s stabilized. Photography is extremely over saturated. They can just go into their studio whenever they want and do what they want to do. Yet here we are busting our asses working 1 or 2 jobs to support this hobby/craft. Also we stress out a lot more.
It’s funny how photography is a medium that is so conducive to sharing with others but we primarily share photos through social media these days. As great as it is, it’s hard to appreciate photography on such a small screen. I recently started printing more of my photos this last fall and I’ve had so much fun seeing them in a new light. It’s also such a beautiful way to gift shared memories with others.
Some of my favorite (and family, friends, etc) photos are the ones I've printed using Instax printers. I see them stuck on fridges, in car visors, pinned to cork boards, taped to mirrors and walls, etc. It makes my heart happy.
I subscribe because you keep it real. I watch all your videos and want to say thank you for not gate keeping and actually empowering your viewers to be more creative.
I agree, printed photos are just so much better and more fun than any photo on my computer where they are just buried and forgotten, or seen randomly on different digital display. Also it is the most awesome backup when I have photos on paper. If and when my hard disks and backups die, I still can see photos - and best of all, other people can see those as well when they are visiting and we sometimes look those. It is much more rare to watch digital photos together and it have no same kind of emotion. I have A3 sized photos what I have taken on my walls and many of those are taken with 7.1 Mpx digital point-and-shoot camera and they look good. When people see the photo on paper, people probably more often just see the picture - not any kind of pixel peeping. When I see my photos on my wall, I don't think resolutions or any technical crap, but just the photo itself. Does it look good or how it makes me feel in general. Good timing for this video to pop on my feed, it reminded me that I needed to print some test photos taken by my new (old and used) digital camera. I also have Canon Selphy CP1300, it is just awesome. It just feels great to print easily and get good quality results with 4x6 (or 10x15 cm) for putting to the wall. Same time I watched this I got prints and yeah, even those 1 Mpx "preview" versions of the photos just look good on paper (transferred wirelessly and app resized those to smaller). You don't need much megapixels to get great quality 4x6 photos :)
I have a Fuji Instax EVO mini, which is the hybrid model camera/printer. I can send photos from my phone or tablet to the printer. I also have the Canon Selphy 1500. I totally agree with all your printing options. I looked into a dedicated 13x19 printer, but the cost of use versus the amount I print was not worth it. I love how real you are. Glad I found your channel. You stayed true to yourself since I first subscribed. No bullshit, just facts. Have a great New Years!!!
This video came right on time for me. After printing several film photos that motivated me to want to print my other digital work. There’s nothing like holding your own photo. Just ordered the Canon Selphy 1500 printer. As always, appreciate your videos and for always keeping it real.
I’ve had a Selphy 1200 sitting in the garage unused and only recently pulled it out to sell. It’s small but still large, so home use only. The instax printer is great for handing prints out while out and about. For my paid work, I have 2 DNP printers for onsite quick prints and 2 Prograph Pro-1000’s for framed and shipped wall art. Adding printers to my business increases my annual income 30%. More than covering the expense and hassle.
You’ve become one of my favorite channels pretty quickly, while most photographers on RUclips suffer from unoriginal repetitive content for the sake of views, i find your videos refreshing and informative. Also I need that printer asap

Amazing video keeping it real 🔥🔥🔥 I’m also looking to pickup that small canon printer you saving me money from buying Polaroids
THERE'S ONLY ONE THING THAT SEPARATES A GREAT PHOTOGRAPHER TO A REGULAR "PHOTOGRAPHER " AND THAT IS THE EYES AND BRAIN IN ONE'S HEAD! THOSE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT IN THIS PHOTOGRAPHY GAME...AS WELL AS OTHER ARTISTIC AND IN LIFE! WITHOUT A "GOOD EYE" YOUR IMAGES FUCKIN SUCK!!!!
I REALLY DIG THIS VIDEO AND YOUR OTHER VIDEOS! HEADS LIKE TO HATE OR TRY N DISS YOU, BECAUSE YOU TELL IT LIKE IT IS... AND YOU AIN'T ON IT, TRYING TO "PLEASE" EVERYONE! I'M DIGGIN' THAT SELPHY PRINTER AND THE ZINE TIP YOU DROPPED -MOST DEFINITELY GOING TO LOOK INTO THAT! KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO!!!💯🤘🏾🤘🏾👊🏾
Great video... disappointed I didn't find the rationalization here that I was looking for to purchase something exotic like a 75mm Noctillux (sarcasm)...
Oh that videos next 👀
wow, you took a long time before getting to the pitch...
You’ve watched 15 of my videos and left negative comments on 9. You hate watching me is a benefit to me so I thank you riding my meat.
@@DeeRosa I gave your channel an honest viewing and it's worth the criticism, especially since I actually PAY for this product... You being a nasty person who can't handle criticism, giving into ad hominem, is not a credit to you and, frankly, confirms my opinion of you, so many thanks.
@@klarion its funny because I PAY for my product. If you’re upset I get loaners then get the f u c k over it. You guys think everyone who is more successful than you is a walking ad which is amazing considering that if you take away the loans I still have all the same gear and am still doing the work and assignments you wish you had. If you’re jealous it isn’t you there is a reason: you don’t deserve it.
amen
These exact same ideas apply to videography aswell. No one gives a shit if its 6k, 4k or 1080p. No one cares about the chromatic abberation, the vignette or any of that. The work itself does the talking
Commenters on Reddit and RUclips would have you believe otherwise, but yeah. Make art and hone your craft. The rest is just noise.
Ah Instax. I love it...
That you see actual results in the real world. There is a beauty to that.
