Alex, always love your content. As a mid pool 3 player, and a spender, this new token shop will greatly slow down my card acquisition. I was buying token bundles and token Tuesday deals. I was only focused on unlocking P3 cards from the shop. I'm not chasing the meta pool 4+ cards until I finish p3 first, because those higher cards will eventually drop down or get nerfed. This change has literally forced me to be more F2P. I have minimal reason to chase tokens right now. If they don't change this back, I see it as a huge step back for mid pool 3 players and below.
For the free pool 3 per season I think there should be an interface that you can just choose any pool 3 card at any time instead of it cycling every 8 hours. It'd be a lot better since you can only get 1 per month.
There are people in Cozy's Discord all the time asking about tips on there deck and what to include and how does anyone have a good deck list. I think it's a necessary allocation of time to Smart Decks for the lower skilled individuals when it comes to deck building. I know someone went to infinite on a deck wasn't theirs. This doesn't make the decks their own, but the ability to just have the last few cards in your list filled in for you is a fantastic touch. Not something I'll use either but I'm glad to see it coming and sooner rather than later.
Shocker is the odd one out I feel like you could cram all the no text cards in a High Evolutionary deck but you could also take the 3 cards that deal with unspent energy as a shell or take the 3 cards with negative power and use that as a shell.
One design space that I think would be interesting to tap into are "rows" at locations. I think there's a lot you could do with effects that differentiate between the "front row" and the "back row" at a location. A card like "Ongoing: Disable the effects of other front-row cards here" could act as a counter to both Armor and Cosmo while still allowing both sides to play around it by playing enough to reach the back row. Or what about a Location like "Back-Row Cards here have -5 Power", incentivizing you to make those first two slots count or combine your cards with something like Hulk Buster or Carnage? The fact that you can't play into the back row until filling the front row creates a ton of opportunities for interesting strategies and interactions, and I'm hoping to see it implemented in some way.
High Evolutionary isnt deck defining, he is deckS defining. At least 2 diferent kind of decks can be created with him. And on top of that he is just a good side tool to include in multiple kinds of decks, like Shoker, Wasp, The Thing and Abomination work really well by their own.

I think an unranked mode would be great for getting certain missions done. I feel like some of them force me to use a different deck or strategy and then I feel like I'm tanking my cubes just to get missions done. Maybe changing those specific missions to be more boring general missions would also help fix that, but I hate having to win with less than 10 power.

I think the Cyclops text is like that because it will give out 3 x - 1 , but it doesn't have to be the same card or doesn't have to be three different cards. So it could give one card -3, or one card -2 and one -1, or three cards -1
The Thing's power is worded that way because things like Hell Cow which discards 2 cards, but say you only have apocalypse in your hand it only discards it once. So basically, if there's only 1 enemy card at that location it will get hit 3 times instead of just selecting 3 on reveal which would only allow for it to hit a single enemy card once.
Here's a thought. Shuri: "Your next card here has its power doubled." This would include rock from opposing Debris, Green Goblin, etc. This would require initiative or risk downside. Red Skull: "Minus X power for each opposing chars." If X is large enough, doubling it would negate his impact while you can still play him after Zero to the same effect as before. Cheers
The thing is a -3 to one. It's saying pick 1 random enemy and minus 1. Now do that again 2 times. Meaning in theory it could pick the same enemy or a different. It can pick the same enemy twice and the 3rd time a different.
I think the reason thing is worded that way is unlike Wasp, he doesn't need more than one enemy card at his location. Wasp needs 2 enemies to afflict 2 random enemies. Whereas Thing could ping one card 3 times with only one opponent across from him..

Personally I'm a big fan of the token shop changes. I'm not pool 3 complete, but have a collection level of 2400. Being able to effectively choose your free pool 3 card once a month is awesome. I think the bigger plus for me is getting 300 collector tokens. Before it felt like I had to spend my tokens on the top tier pool 3 stuff because anything above that was going to take absolutely forever to get. But now getting 3 times the tokens in a cache and with card costs remaining the same, it makes getting pool 4 and 5 cards seem much more doable.
weren't you getting 400 tokens from collector's reserves anyways? i think the new change only helps those with collection level less than 1000 when you were getting only 100 tokens from collector's caches?
I feel like High Evolution ironically devolves the way Snap is built. During turns one and two, you are mostly trying to get an idea of what deck the enemy is playing so you can positon your units around what they are playing. Typically, if they are going to play a squirrel girl on turn one, they are either going Patriot or Destroy. If they play Sunspot turn one, it could be literally anything and the follow up to that such as Lizard will still keep you guessing on their plan. With HE, you will know exactly what type of deck they are playing, what to expect and what to keep in mind. Basically, if I don't have Luke Cage in my deck, it will be an instant retreat from me, or at-least playing until they snap for some boosters. This is assuming I am not going with a high roller deck to mitigate how many cards are being hit with a -1. A free abomination, right after nerfing QJ, RIGHT AFTER stating that "free cards are too powerful", I bet the HE, the Big Bad, will be there for whales to access and abuse until it is played alot like Thanos was. After that, they will send him to nerf hell. I could be wrong, but HE will be an omen on snap as it kicks many design philosophys out of the window.
Can't wait for the new ranking thing to take effect. Fought my first Thanos/Lockjaw deck deck 2 days ago. I was around collection score 610 and rank 55. Beaten into the ground. At least I only lost 2 cubes from it. I saw the writing on the wall turn 4.
High Evolutionary has so many options. Pure tribal is definitely an option. There’s also a potential “float” archetype cropping up with Sunspot, Misty Knight, Shulk, Hulk(?), Cyclops I’m theory-crafting a Toxic Sera deck featuring High Evo, Thing, Abom, Wasp. Basically Sera/Zabu Hazmat, Wong, Odin, Luke Evo, Thing, Abom, Wasp Maybe add Lizard for more consistent priority early on and Shocker for more consistency on those coveted miracle plays?
i think it's interesting just how well GOTG cards work together cause on top of the typical on reveal cards, now you got _multiple_ ongoing cards that work almost like bait to better make the on reveals more predictable
@@AlexanderCoccia @CozySnap about Quinjet, Quinjet barely makes Hit Monkey any better. With Sera and Quinjet, Hit Monkey can become up to a 12 power card; with just Sera, Hit Monkey can already be 10 power. And that extra two power only comes if you don't draw America Chavez, which many of those decks want to be playing. So I don't think this was a justifiable reason kill Quinjet
So when the update dropped i had Orka as my free series 3 card. I said nah Imma wait, then orka is still there, wait another rotation, still there! I unlocked typhoid mary that day, so orkas drop made it the only series 3 i had left and so i had to take orka as my free card also 😂
Honestly, the uptapped decktracker is so good and utilizes the empty space so well that I don't really care about the widescreen UI. I *would* like the game to be higher quality on PC, though. I don't know if it's lack of anti-aliasing or what but I play on a pretty large monitor and the game does not look great, it's very pixelated and jaggedy.
no guys, i think u read the thing wrong. The thing will pick one card to nerf by 1 at random, 3 times in a row. That means that if the opponent only has one card there, that card gets -3, if they have several it spreads out. that contrasts with wasp and ciclops i think that will only give that nerf to one card, if the op only has one card there
I would love a draft mode, its my favorite way to play across all games, Magic, Hearthstone, etc.. cause everyone is more on an even playing field. If they did do that, it would have to cost gold to enter, credits might be too cheap of a resource imo, but there has to be some level of cost so people just dont keep rerolling decks until they get the perfect deck
I hope Howard the Duck makes a noise every time you tap him so when I am waiting for my opponents turn I can click him to entertain myself. That is one of the things I wish they would take from Hearthstone which is the interactive boards! Also if High Evolutionary stays the same Cerebro will need to tech in Luke Cage in all of it's lists!
So, as someone that is about halfway through Series 3, I don't mind the freebie card, but my biggest problem with the card acquisition by far is that they don't put new cards into lower pools. I actually get cards at a pretty decent rate, but I hate being excited for Kitty Pride and knowing that it'll be a long time before I get to try out decks with her. I wish they would have done more on that front. The season pass cards are fun, but the new cards that come out each week just seem so much cooler to build around half the time.
I haven’t been able to move up in rank lately , I been stuck in the 60s, just sat down to play and moved from from level 66 to 62 losing games , so damn frustrating now
I think the The Thing hits 3 random targets for -1 power. because the effect is afflict one random card for -1 power. repeat the effect 2 more times. so it pings 3 targets. At least thats how i read it
Also I'm so hype for hit monkey. I really hope he isn't broken because he seems like a lot of fun and like a good buff to decks that aren't doing that great like bounce, Sara, and zoo
Do you think we are starting to run into too many different location types I will see locations that I haven’t seen in weeks and others I have totally forgotten about ?
I think there are definitely too many negative locations that seem to all want to lump into one game. You'll have one you can't play a card on, one you can't play your first card on, and another that makes your power negative.... They need to work on at least how the locations match up at times
I'm gonna try Zabu w High Evolutionary. He will help facilitate unspent energy. There are already 2 4-drops in the deck. Moongirl, wong, absorbing man would all be good value. I can see sunpsot, spiderwoman, scorpion as tech cards too
love the snapchat! finally darkhawk rotated to my shop and I'm having a blast with it. maybe I'm crazy but I'm tinkering with a darkhawk valkyrie deck and so far it really slaps and wins cubes out of nowhere!
I think the thing high evolutionary text means it will select 3 random cards and give them -1 power but the same card has the potential to get hit 2 or 3 times the 3 cards selected don't have to be different cards
I disagree with the idea that match making is unfair playing infinite players at low level. Play guys with infinite backs pretty often in the 40s and 50s. Being they're infinite they play other types of decks for fun instead of just the power house decks for climbing.
Crossbones is my guy! You can only play him on locations where you are winning, so he could be tough to use at times. I like using him in my goblin deck. I have this cool Noir variant for the card 🤵
The High Evolutionary will combat Thanos decks, but will be a Series 5 or 6 card. Back to not many people will have him. The FOX X-men 90s theme song is still own by Fox . I wonder how much money it was spent for the little rift from it on Dr Strange's newest movie. XMen 97 will be on Disney plus it will continue from the 90s X-men series. Cozy messed it all up X-men 97 is Fall 2023.
One thing is I don't actually think your going to have to just play high evolutionary in decks where it's all built around him like I could totally see you throwing him and just one or 2 of the 1 cost cards into a deck to get some pretty strong effects overall like putting him hulk and wasp into a lockjaw deck could actually be really good as an example
The reason they can do MCU variants is because it sells MCU movie tickets. You'll see and hear what Marvel and Disney want you to see and hear. It's like how WB now dictates a lot of stuff with Mortal Kombat right. New microtransactions and stuff that wasn't in before. Certain dlc. Whatever sells more Marvel is what we will see regarding classic stuff. So I doubt we'll see too much outside of the MCU. Which is fine cause every Snap original has been great thus far.
7:10 it’s not as easy as saying choose 3 random cards because a card could potentially be picked again. A card could honestly be picked 3 times. It’s not saying 3 different random cards.
I'm curious about how the deck of the bots worked since sometimes I feel like they had cards in their deck that didn't fit any strategy or that were even counter intuitive to what they were playing, but it was just the perfect card to counter me
I'm not surprised they didn't give that many more tokens to pool 3 complete players. For 1 thing, there are token tuesdays now. For another thing, If they bump it up too high, you'll end up having all the cards and having nothing to do with the tokens, especially for the "whales" out there.
I just really hope these new abilities aren't an April fools joke. I know they were probably planning this from the beginning which is why some of the no abilities like Cyclops seemed weak (are you kidding me? He now has the best ability of that group with hitting two enemies a turn... Your opponent will be scared to play there). I'm just going to be devastated if this isn't real because, one it opens up a new way to play no ability cards and a reason to add more into the game for Patriot. And two, because that gives a huge boost and really creates the aggro disruption archetype I've loved playing in other games. So much Wong hamat/gambit synergy. I'm over the moon after seeing it so I hope it stays true.
I got Shanna and Kang on my POOL 3 collection track I'm still wondering what's going on I'm not looking a GIFT HORSE in the mouth but whaaaat....also good episode.
The only thing I hate is that they made all these improvements for new people and people who don’t have time to play everyday but for those of us who love the game play everyday and still at 4330 collection level have not opened a series 5 card that wasn’t downgraded or that I bought from the token shop or season pass and now I find out if I would have just waited 2 months I could have some of those higher series cards that I can’t seem to obtain also earlier today I got another 100 token spit in the face and my buddy I just got into the game got 800 in a box not finished with series 3. It feels like I’m being punished for playing and loving the game as much as I do and I’m about to stop playing because I went 58 boxes without a single new character 17 of those boxes were 100 tokens barely a fraction of what I need to actually obtain a new card then the card I get was a series 5 that was lowered to a 4 valkerie so I guess I need to just stop playing for a few months then maybe I could have an enjoyable experience playing the game.
How do you know nebula is a 4,3 because they’ve added it to the game and you can see it’s in the 1 power section , not to mention 4,3 is very bad , 1,1 makes more sense not to weak not too strong ?
Orka was the first card they showed me too 🤣 🤣 🤣 I skipped and my next was gambit! Instant snap! My season 4 card showing now is silver surfer, should it get it or wait for next card?
What about the other non ability cards, Mr Sinister Clone, Ultron Bots, Doom Bots, Brood... I wonder if they'll have hidden abilities. Any way the High Evolutionary deck is going to be the 8 cards plus Sunspot, Scorpion, Wave and She-Hulk right?
Sera miracle everyone will be playing that when hit monkey is out. Everybody start playing sandman ramp or any deck with wave. Turn 5 wave will kill sera😅.
I keep hearing everyone being so blaaah about nimrod. I love this card. It has kept me to one deck longer then any card out there. Maybe it sucks at higher ranks but I love this guy

Alex’s reaction the X-men ‘97 made me so happy 😂😂 another great episode
Agree 💯
Can't wait for the new ranking thing to take effect. Fought my first Thanos/Lockjaw deck deck 2 days ago. I was around collection score 610 and rank 55. Beaten into the ground. At least I only lost 2 cubes from it. I saw the writing on the wall turn 4.
High Evolutionary has so many options.
Pure tribal is definitely an option.
There’s also a potential “float” archetype cropping up with Sunspot, Misty Knight, Shulk, Hulk(?), Cyclops
I’m theory-crafting a Toxic Sera deck featuring High Evo, Thing, Abom, Wasp. Basically
Sera/Zabu
Hazmat, Wong, Odin, Luke
Evo, Thing, Abom, Wasp
Maybe add Lizard for more consistent priority early on and Shocker for more consistency on those coveted miracle plays?
i think it's interesting just how well GOTG cards work together cause on top of the typical on reveal cards, now you got _multiple_ ongoing cards that work almost like bait to better make the on reveals more predictable
Love the Snapchats! I tune in every week 😊
These two guys are great together, keep up the excellent snap content!
We will! Thanks for the support!
So I don't think this was a justifiable reason kill Quinjet
shoutout to the format. Yall know how to do a snap podcast
So when the update dropped i had Orka as my free series 3 card. I said nah Imma wait, then orka is still there, wait another rotation, still there! I unlocked typhoid mary that day, so orkas drop made it the only series 3 i had left and so i had to take orka as my free card also 😂
Suggested Guest: Molt on the topic of Move decks, what can be done to improve them, discussion of leaked move cards, hwy he loves playing those decks.
I haven’t been able to move up in rank lately , I been stuck in the 60s, just sat down to play and moved from from level 66 to 62 losing games , so damn frustrating now
Alex’s face when cozy said X-men 97 is a thing!😅
Iron Lad can't be played with Chavez interestingly because I think the Gabe puts her on top for her ability.
Yondu always seems to hit her.
I need the High Evolutionary in my life. I have both the winter abomination and the steampunk shocker and I need to be able to play them.
I think the The Thing hits 3 random targets for -1 power. because the effect is afflict one random card for -1 power. repeat the effect 2 more times. so it pings 3 targets. At least thats how i read it
and its great that by the time high evolutionary comes out it will be within most players reach
Also I'm so hype for hit monkey. I really hope he isn't broken because he seems like a lot of fun and like a good buff to decks that aren't doing that great like bounce, Sara, and zoo
Thing is phrased that way so that it can hit the same card multiple times if your opponent only has 1 or 2 out
We need a card that says "have the same power as the snap count"
I see High Evolutionary giving us another Thanos moment when he comes out, It's definitely gonna be interesting to see what the meta would be like
I personally can't wait to try out the high evolutionary .. First card ima buy for 6k tokens ..
Howard the duck is awesome, more cards like him would be awesome
Do you think we are starting to run into too many different location types I will see locations that I haven’t seen in weeks and others I have totally forgotten about ?
I think there are definitely too many negative locations that seem to all want to lump into one game.
You'll have one you can't play a card on, one you can't play your first card on, and another that makes your power negative....
They need to work on at least how the locations match up at times
Bounce High Evolutionary sounds super fun!
Rereading all of the effects I think that would be a pretty interesting luke cage hazmat deck with huge power with things like hulk and the end
New hazzmats ,scorpion decks are coming.
Also hulks decks with wave and hulk to get even more power and magik.
I see high evolutionary in a jane-Jaw deck to abuse wasp Even better and lockjaw can give you a solid 7 power Card.
It means thing can give 1 card -3, 2 cards -1 and -2 or 3 cards -1. At least based on how it is written
I now want all of moonknights personas in one card and you can tap it to change to a random personality each turn
As far as audio , anyone else dislike the coin sound added to gaining cubes?
I'm curious about how the deck of the bots worked since sometimes I feel like they had cards in their deck that didn't fit any strategy or that were even counter intuitive to what they were playing, but it was just the perfect card to counter me
Bots should definitely not be able to retreat. That's one thing they could easily implement to improve QOL.
The thing is clear on what it does. One card could get picked more then one time. But if they only have one card there it would get -3
lmao i had the same reaction to the "Tap this card" text. felt like a real dumbass when i realized they meant "tap your phone idiot"
I'm over the moon after seeing it so I hope it stays true.
the hulk is gonna be amazing in that deck
High Evolutionary Bounce Deck :), can’t wait
If a lot of people play Hit Monkey, just play electro/Sandman.
I got Shanna and Kang on my POOL 3 collection track I'm still wondering what's going on I'm not looking a GIFT HORSE in the mouth but whaaaat....also good episode.
Im pool 3 complete. Bought the big bads because it made sense. And the 7 percent is so bad for tokem increase.
High Evolutionary will be high time to go full Chernobyl with a Hazmat deck.
What happens when Iron Clad is hit by Odin? Does it replace or add an ability?
How do you know nebula is a 4,3 because they’ve added it to the game and you can see it’s in the 1 power section , not to mention 4,3 is very bad , 1,1 makes more sense not to weak not too strong ?
they could have increase CREDIT and BOOSTER acquisition and still would have solved the card acquisition problem
ROFL , "Scorpion buff, which was what everyone was asking for......"
High evolutionary is going to be so fun. My hazmat is ready to go.
Hot monkey on amy 0 cost deck its gonna be nuts
Orka was the first card they showed me too 🤣 🤣 🤣 I skipped and my next was gambit! Instant snap! My season 4 card showing now is silver surfer, should it get it or wait for next card?
Bromance in sigth jajaja amo a estos muchachos 😂
Storm, Nebula. Doesn't matter what they played there. It's like sunspot. I hope she stays a 1/1 but we'll see
What about the other non ability cards, Mr Sinister Clone, Ultron Bots, Doom Bots, Brood... I wonder if they'll have hidden abilities. Any way the High Evolutionary deck is going to be the 8 cards plus Sunspot, Scorpion, Wave and She-Hulk right?
True!!
Orka or Attuma? My last two free options. Right when I was about to be finished pool 3
