I agree broadly that 5 nil has no excuses, and also that the first half was good and if we get a stonewall peno then who knows what would happen. But I cant help but notice that Delaney and Breen and Co castigated Kenny because "results are all that matter", yet praise elements of last nights performance and specifically praise the manager because of his comments? Kennys sides had far better performances against big teams than losing 5 nil to england. But apparently Halgrimmson gets away with far less good performances cus he says a few harsh things in an interview. What about actually playing better? Now results dont matter because he gave an interesting interview.... and blamed the players (not necessarily wrongly blaming them, but that is what he did). Just to clarify my issue is Delaneys agenda, not so much the specific analysis of this game.
Will ye gway and dont be annoying us. The first half was a disgrace with not being able to keep the ball for 5 seconds. Not playing our best player on the ball Mickey Johnston was criminal. None of the rest of them can control and pass the ball so we have no chance of qualifying for the next WC. We have to find to central midfielders or we have no chance. We also have a very poor defeatist attitude
