Talkin Giants saving me from having to listen to these terrible beat reporters content this morning! 🙏
in this household we love darius slayton
Easy guy to like. However, I've never fallen in love with receivers who frequently can't catch the ball - kind of a fatal flaw in a position where job #1 is to catch the ball.
@@pcarlson214 to be fair, he cut his drops tremendously last year going from 7 to 3
@@pcarlson214 Frequently can't catch the ball-fatal flaw. You sound ridiculous.
Me too
Bad bunny comments was crazy
The Giants have to keep Slayton around because they need as many weapons as they can get
I’m glad I did
I mean Darius is nothing special except that he's undeniably been our most consistent reciever since Jones became a starter. He's aware of that and he wants a raise. I'm not dogging him for that.
Love Slayton. Favorite Giant. Has outperformed expectations, and salary, and draft position....very consistently
Slayton & his agent saw Gabe Davis get 13/year & Jerry Jeudy get 19/ year & now they want more money.
Looking forward to the pre draft mocks
I mean if max is to rich at 47, see if you can trade back.. I think the cb2 position is a huge need after WR, I would go WR, CB, OL, RB, DL, TE, ST,
wouldn't mind keeping Slayton around at all. I think he's earned himself a nice new deal, and if the Giants don't give it to him then another team definitely will, so he's going to get his bag next offseason at the latest
We haven't even drafted another WR yet & giants fans are ready to kick Slayton to the curb.
W video
.as much as I want the wr I still feel the cb room is weak as hell without a second guy. I want to trade back hopefully with Vikings 11 and 23 grab Mitchell and wr or ol or QB at 23
If we trade back to those picks there are so many spots we can target with those. Cb like you mentioned, we could get one of the insane 3 techs to put next to Dex, another edge (I'd only want Verse for us), could still go receiver at 23, Bowers is then an option too but I still wouldn't like him at 11, Barton, Fautanu, or JPJ to be our guard with all 3 having position flexibility insurance for either right tackle or center.
CB definitely a big need, maybe an underrated need by part of the fanbase. Our best CB is a 2nd year player who has potential but still relatively unproven especially as a CB1
Wow! That would be Great! But I think Schoen wants to finally get Jones an elite outside X WR to try and show he wasn't an idiot for giving Jones $160mil. We're going to have to cross our fingers for Pritchett in rnd 2.
Is somebody doing the dishes in the background? If so, what was on the menu? Can really hear it in my earbuds.
If we trade Slayton Id wanna double up WR for that WR 4 role so Mckenzie can play specials so 1st rd WR + Hyatt and wandale are out there
What your thoughts on the broncos wanting to trade surtain to move up in the draft should the giants accept a deal if they get the chance ?
Quinon is the easy target if we trade back to the 12 area after the WRs are gone. Witherspoon lite, but witherspoon showed all-pro HoF level play recognition, you never see college DBs like that. Does everything well with elite traits. If it gets us extra premium picks I would be cool with missing out on a top 3 WR for Quinon + a WR like Coleman, AD, Legette. Would give us the type of Def that wins games with multiple quality players at all 3 levels. Depends on the package we get, but has to be their target if they move back.
Extend Slay (but keep it reasonable and short term) because we need his proven production on the roster at least until we get a true WR1 and Hyatt puts it all together. Slay would likely be maximized with a better QB [like Drake Maye or JD5] also so there could be more production there as well. He fixed the hands a lot too. Solid vet WR2.
All facts.
My guy is Andrew Phillips. A lil short but I think he could be great in bowens off coverage defense. Can play outside and slot and Is a really sure tackler and a good run defender for his size. Hope we get him in round 2 or 3
5'11" isn't really small, but 4.48sec isn't great. He's more of a slot/nickle/spec teams guy. We need Outside CB day 1 starter. If he slips to 5th rnd, which u never know he's would be great addition but we would pbly have to cut Flott or Holmes.
@@Thagomizer-U235 I don’t think he’s a better prospect then both of them just imo tho
@@bark2650I think u r correct on that, but I think slot/nickle will be won by whoever doesn't win outside cb battle of McCloud, Hawkins, and Robinson.
Giants have to sign a veteran CB or just bring back Adoree
I wouldn't draft a CB until day 3
We need a shut down man outside CB. No way we can sign 1, Adoree Jackson couldn't beat out McCloud last year. We have 5 slot/nickle cbs, with 4 battling for outside cb: McCloud, Flott, Hawkins, and Robinson. Hawkins has 10% chance to be great, McCloud played ok with nice forced fumbles, Flott not fast or big enough, and who knows what Robinson could give u after not playing for 1.5 yrs. We need a >5'11", 4.3 40 with great cover skills, which is really hard to get on day 3. We need a shut down CB in rnd 2 or 3 or watch good teams put up 40pts on us.
Slayton will be a Buffalo Bill within the year
Get the wr at 6, 2nd round is sweet spot for cb, then in 3rd get DT or o line, 4th get a rb and we set
Hi
Is it crazy to think that WR at 6 would be a poor use of resources?
It'd be the third WR the Giants have picked in the first three rounds since hiring Schoen, and if you include Toney it'd be 4 in 4 years. With this being the second first round pick in those four years to be used on a WR.
Yeah it’s crazy to think that this isn’t a back of the first pick this is a top 6 pick in a class with elite wr prospects. WRs go high because they’re expensive and can change games same for pass rushers tackles qbs and cbs. But even then they don’t go top 5 unless they’re truly special and all three of the top guys have a legit case to go top 5
@j.r.3945 I'd recommend looking at the last 5 SBs and seeing the top receiver on each of those teams, and how many yards they had, I think (with the exception of Kupp) you'll be surprised.
@@patrickklaas3902 At 6. Either LT, WR or QB. We don't need a LT. Either WR or QB. Depends who's there.
No love for Wiggins out of Clemson?
Even though Wiggens is super thin he will be picked in back of rnd 1. If Giants trade back, and Wiggens agrees to work hard to bulk up, and Mitchell is gone, he would be Amazing!
I would give him a little more because he’s been a good player not great but can’t go crazy because Hyatt starting to come along at end of season wandale looked good and I’m hoping we draft Rome because Hyatt and wandale and slayton are all fast over the top guys we don’t have that big Calvin Johnson type guy which I think Rome odunze is like he’s tall and is great at 50/50 balls where nabers is great but he’s like a Odell I just like Rome little better but would be happy if nabers is guy but I’m nervous about his clout chasing and attitude
This is the fault of people who kept saying that Slayton was a bargain out loud
He is
Gabe Davis getting 13/year & Jerry Jeudy getting 19/year is the reason for this.
If the G-men trade up for a QB, I'm going to scream & smash my computer monitor!!!! I'm fine with DeVito as the developmental QB. And DJ is not the problem. Apparently last year was all his fault. With protection Dj will be the DJ from 2022. Only QB I like beside Caleb is Penix. Screw the rest of them.
Why does it say quarterbacks??? Lol
Does it say quarterbacks??? Lol
Joe Schoen said that the Giants would be good with going in with Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, and Tommy DeVito as the QBs and not drafting a QB. That's exactly what the Giants should do. Roll with Jones, Lock, and DeVito while filling in needs in the Draft.
Yes! I don't know why everyone thinks Schoen is lying and sending smoke screens. He stressed it's a deep draft and we have lots of needs, which screams trade back.
There's absolutely no reason to draft a developmental QB with all the needs that we have when we already have DeVito as QB3
