UP close with a Lion Pride | Monwana Game Lodge | Greater Kruger National Park

It was all about anticipation and finding the best possible place position - and that was exactly what happened.
Our guide Almero and myself discussed a plan, we risked going ahead of the pride with the hope that we can meet them head on, risk vs reward is always tricky but when it comes off its truly special and that is what happened on this morning.
Perfectly positioned the Monwana pride decided to playfully climb a fallen over Marula tree, a behaviour that is common in young lions as they try to push there limits and hone the needed skills to become apex predators.
Monwana Game Lodge played host to this unreal koment on safari - situated in Thornybush Nature Reserve in the Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa. This is truly one of the best safari destinations in Africa.
