    Enjoyed this. Few thoughts.
    1. There might not be glamour in women joining the workforce but what it offers is financial autonomy which then offers freedom - to exercise your will in the world and exit out of marriages and family structures if they get corrupt and abusive.
    2. At the end, Prakhar tried to define the role of the masculine and feminine where he says something along the lines of: the traditionally masculine acts in the world and the traditionally feminine enjoys it.
    I think the latter is different - the traditionally feminine human creates the resources and environment to nourish the masculine to be a more effective actor. The enjoyment of life is something they can both partake in once the survival need has been catered to.
    3. The traditionally masculine and feminine roles are drastically diluted in 2023 in societies with an effective law and order system, job security, easily accessible resources and food and shelter. This makes the job of being a man or a woman drastically easier.
    With the smoothing of this friction, the traditionally masculine archetype is able to exercise it’s will to greater extents and achieve new heights with each generation from which society benefits and the individual is celebrated. Therefore, there is an incentive to aim in this direction.
    The smoothing of friction with playing traditionally feminine roles plays out differently. A lot of women now have choice on how they wish to exercise their ability to give birth and cope with menstruation allowing them greater mobility, therefore the nourishing function of a household is now being shared by both men and women so that both can act effectively in the world. Furthermore, the easy access to food with a supply chain, caregiving resources for children like nannies, daycare, easy access of travel for relatives makes the nurturing part of a household easier.
    To summarize, we now are able to be less vary of danger and care for ourselves much more easily than we could before. In light of that, roles between men and women are becoming more interchangeable. The family unit is also hence becoming less hierarchical. We still bear responsibility for ourselves, our parents, our spouses and our children but we welcome them into a world where mankind is thriving and therefore able to go further than ever before. The new masculine and feminine is set to break and push boundaries.

      very very very interesting the way you've put it. you've offered an interesting and new perspective on it than the one i've held for a while now, this is a more neutral, more subjective one. definitely one that i am going to explore more with time.
      my stance on this still leans towards the idea that a reduction in dimorphism between men and women on a large scale is probably detrimental to society. i think its hard to escape the biological tendency of who we are and what path of least resistance to take. i like having sexual dimorphism within my environments, within my social groups.
      i don't look forward to an androgynous society which once again forces us all to conform to capitalist culture. but at the same time part of me recognises and realises that odds are that within the span of my lifetime, i wont have to face such a reality.
      but like you've said, the new men and women are going to be pushing boundaries, and im interested to see where that goes. but how far is too far, that i do not know.

    Great video. I do have to put something forward and would love to hear your take on this.
    Courage, discipline, responsibility, leadership…..AND care, love, compassion etc. are virtues and traits. There is nothing “inherently” masculine or feminine about this. These are just words being thrown around. This association of Masculine to men and feminine to women is very shallow and pretty useless. When a man is courageous just call him that. When he is playing with his pet dog and taking care of him, he is caring and nurturing, just say that. When a woman is taking responsibility of her family just say she’s responsible. When she’s leading, just call her a leader. This idea that he’s in his feminine and she’s tapping into her masculinity is not needed only. People get confused and become toxic.
    What is this obsession of reducing every “HUMAN” trait to “masculine” (and ultimately strongly associated with men) or “feminine” (and ultimately strongly associated with women.
    I understand the historical, survival and tribal dynamics that led to this association but if you reduce every trait to just these two then essentially we are ripping both genders off of their ‘humanness’

      A certain set of traits/emotions are okay for men to show but never the rest of them. Same goes for women.
      There's not need of this emotional bifurcation to improve yourself and the society.

      Masculinity is more like a term which is made to make the men slave to women in this generation, see around you and observe that most of the hard work is being done by men, meanwhile women are always looking for easy jobs and rich guys, to live a comfortable life and they want a slave husband who will provide them everything for free because they have something to bargain with them, you know very well that's the most disturbing part

    • @Rumour10

      by the way I support your comments, these youtubers are just vilifying such terms

    • @abk23
      @abk23 Год назад +2

      by this logic the words courage, discipline, responsibility, leadership are all inherently ripping _everyone_ from their humanity. these words are just labels as well.
      when we use adjectives to describe something we are inherently making a generalisation. you can bring 5 "creative" people into a room but soon realise that all their creativity exists in different forms. courage discipline and leadership are all traits that can be clumped together and generalised and be labelled with "masculinity".
      language is a limited medium, and yes you are right in that these are all just associations. but all adjectives are associations. that doesn't mean that we'll stop using these words entirely, because we need them for function of communication.
      the choice is yours whether you want to use these words or not. whether you do or don't is of no concern. both are completely valid.

    You seem to be more aggressive on how men should take up responsibility, which they definitely need to btw and not talk even a little about women who are all about using some man for fending for them. You didn't talk about that.. and I've seen that pattern repeating in you.. what are women who don't take masculine roles here for ? enjoying the show.. besides the tough task of menstruating and reproducing and taking care of household.. even that they don't have to do anymore, cuz feminism.. can we talk about feminism.. how it's used for selective freedom and renouncing responsibilities that comes off of idea itself.. why don't you talk openly about it.. is it not politically correct ?

      Masculinity is more like a term which is made to make the men slave to women in this generation, see around you and observe that most of the hard work is being done by men, meanwhile women are always looking for easy jobs and rich guys to live a comfortable life and they want a slave husband who will provide them everything for free because they have something to bargain with them, you know very well that's the most disturbing part

    okay fair enough, I know my online comment serves no real value but I will give my two cents regardless. I disagree with the part where you patronize men for being a manchild while appraising women for "fighting" the societal norms, and communicating in a manner where girls become more "mature" than boys. I disagree with that statement completely. I am sure you're privilege enough to not experience the "things" at a young age. Good for you bro like genuinely. However, most "boys" are expected to carry the burden of responsibilities when the family lacks the financials or for that matter in any aspect. You don't know what shit goes through when the family looks down on you or when they treat the son differently while the daughter is still a "princess", when you don't "provide" and essentially you are ostracized from the family decisions for your lack of value and the state of being a liability.
    I hate the whole narrative "oh women sacrifice more than men... oh women are so mature than men...... but juxtaposing with... he is a manchild....he is a toxic masculine.... he is useless... he is incompetent". Sure men will do everything to become "masculine" in the modern times, we will take the role, we will protect and provide. We will die trying to become the "masculine" self, but what about women? They can be modern, woke, feminist while men become traditional and "virtuous". Oh but you can't tell a girl to not sleep with many boys because that's misogynistic and outdated. I bet you can't say a word on what a woman should be and how they should behave and their "mindset"/"traits".
    Edit: I have to say, I was a bit extreme with this. I realised men and women both go through struggle and suffering. However, you still appreiciate a man's struggle just like how you appraised women and their "maturity" in the video.

      so you think girls arent expected to do something for their family at tough times ? what age are you living bro ? I am an elder brother in my house, but i think the load on me and my sister mentally is the same, even though my parents expect more from me being the elder one and a boy, but as a brother i can see how much my sister struggles and works hard for my family. even if you think its your responsibility more than your sister because you are a man, but the mental stress a girl goes through is the same. i think you have watched too much videos related to western society, which many of the times doesnt relate to the society we live in and start to unnecessarily bring all those things in. acting like this will only repel women from you, remember that.

    • @drytube6907
      @drytube6907 Год назад

      @@goku9401 I wrote that comment a month ago, when I was so resentful and bitter as I was consuming excessive content. I then did some introspection and took a step back from this and fixed my hatred and contempt for women and stuff. Yeah, some women do experience the same pressure/pain as men. However, I do believe that a man's pain is often overlooked and ignored. Btw, I live in a Western society even tho I am Indian.

    but some times i don't understand the meaning of women other than raising the child which is not true I know but still, I am confused when I think and fight between the ideas so can you please make a video about it.
