Heard this song last year and it touched me straight away far better than bang bang in my head . Well produced wish their were more tunes like that. His other song cold light of day is better . Trust me the words are lovely .

I have to say that the "gentle" male vocal ruins this song for me... This type of "vocal" always ruins liquid songs for me, sadly. I wish artists would include "instrumentals" to go with those. Moving on.
I know what you mean. Perhaps Logistics wanted to appeal to a broader audience, yet still remain true to the genre. You should definitely listen to "Sentimentality" on his new album, it's got that buzz that I think you're looking for.

First of all vocals have always been a big part of drum and bass, ever since the start. Second, McLean's vocals in this tune are really clean and anything but generic, he really takes me some place with his singing. Finally there are plenty of instrumentals on the album if that's what you're looking for.
In fairness I'm not knocking the talent of the vocalist in anyway shape or form. Its just kind of cheesy, reminds of UK hardcore.
