that's combined. and if you are in the reserve or guard, it's different. If you have a full time job and get called to active duty, some companies pay you a full salary. So on top of you normal 9-5 salary, you get a basic salary plus other allowance from the military, you can actually make quite a bit in a year. Plus if you go on travel orders, you get per diem on top of all that and food is covered.... you get paid if you claim a dependent. So yeah. we aren't necessarily broke in the military. The tax benefits are huge as well in some cases.

@@IlIlIlIlIlIlIlIl-v9h Actually officers just get more base pay. I was enlisted and now I am a Chief in the Army and yes, more money, but the BAH (housing allowance) is about the same, BAS (Allowance for food) is a little higher, and Clothing Allowance is lower as an officer than enlisted. There is no transportation allowance, but we do get paid for military travel the exact same as enlisted would. Like other people have mentioned they are military officers but they also get housing allowance from the government and more money for having a child. They also get free health care and free food in base. They literally have a free ticket unlike non military people where we have to pay for everything from our own salary. A military person can make 40k and a non military can make 70k but the military person will end up having more money saved and more buying power. I did 4 years and saved 100 k.

    7. Discounted gasoline on base
    8. Discounted daycare

Im a stay at home mom, and me & husband save between $7,200-$7,900 a month. We sold our home, currently renting. We are tasting financial freedom. We currently have a CD with a credit union and will mature next September. We are wanting to invest in the S&p 500 and SPYI.
    Any thought's?

I'm pretty sure 263K is combined gross pay. Or it is also includeds BAS and BAQ? Also, if they shop and buy gas on base they save a lot wiht lower prices and often no sales tax. Since the husband is a KC-46 (Similar to a B767) pilot he can easily get a job with any major airline.

There’s no income limits if you do a something called a backdoor Roth IRA, which is easy and still allows each person to contribute $7000 annually to it. No need for any financial or tax advisors and it’s perfectly legal/ very common.
