Thank you John. Your command of the English language certainly makes this walk enticing. I'm walking the Inn Way of the Lake District this year and will encounter some of these routes.

Thanks Roly. The official route is one of the easier long distance walks but it's one of the most beautiful and can easily be completed within a week. The mountain alternatives add plenty of excitement for more experienced walkers.

Hi John. Great vid and I've purchased your guide. I was wondering how achievable it is to do this route whilst wild camping or using campsites? Can't wait to do the Cumbria Way.

The official route is easy for a long distance path; the mountain routes add to the difficulty but would present no difficulties for those already experienced on mountain terrain. This assumes that you would tackle the route between Spring and Autumn and not in wintry conditions. There's a more detailed appraisal in the introduction. Kind regards,
      John
