    Autocar (UK) reports owners having serious software problems with their cars:

    I think it is well positioned as price point vs specs, need to be intelligent with your choices. Many niggles but all can be amended with the next face-lift. On finance buy it should be competitive. Good product, need to be communicated 2 the market cleverly. Well done Marek😊

    20 inch rims on a car this small... OMG. My first car, a Honda CRX Si had 14 inch rims.
    I love this car except for the "main screen do all" approach. In the end it's way too small for a family of 4. It would be great for a single person. Kind of pricey though. 64k CAD for the mid level AWD? That's the price of a top trim VW ID 4 AWD here.

      @@MarekDrivesENG 😅 I have to say, their esthetic designs, exterior and interior, are top notch. I do love them. In the past I never bought them because of their questionable durability but maybe that's not the case in their EVs. They really need to make the XC40...errrr EX40 and the EX60 dedicated EV platforms.

    I completely agree with your conclusion. I like the interior of the Volvo because it is simple, with obvious cost savings, but it is more charming than Tesla's interior with its various fabrics, materials, and colors. Unfortunately, I wouldn't consider the EX30 due to the obscene price. Also, the self-parking feature seems lacking compared to my (old) V90 Cross Country from 2017, which did a much better job. I see a lot of EX30s on the roads, so that's nice, but I'll pass an Electric Volvo (for now).

    I must say that driving through Poland was very… efficient. I rented a BMW 430d Gran Coupe, I’m glad I did, because it kept up with traffic well. And the adaptive cruise worked at Polish motorway speeds. (130 and up, shall we say).

    Volvo have somehow snatched defeat from the jaws of victory with this one. The EX30 seemed to have so much promise when it was announced but it seems that it hasn't quite lived up to it. There's so many design details that I like, but the decision to follow Tesla with the ergonomics and Geely with the ADAS means a no from me.
    I remember how Volvo was talking about the window switch positioning, 'soundbar' sound system and the lack of a driver's gauge cluster were ways to reduce cost... but why is it still so expensive?

    Doesn’t trip anything. I’ve had mine for 3 months and that is not an issue. They pick up speed limits from Google. So if nobody tells Google that the Road Works has gone, it will report the wrong speed

    • @MarekDrivesENG
      @MarekDrivesENG  2 месяца назад +1

      But the last time there were any road works in this place was several years ago. Also, it's not the first time I've driven a car on this road, and none of them has picked up a 50 speed limit. That's including cars, where I have Android Auto running from my phone, which shows the proper speed limit.

    • @Odinscrow1962
      @Odinscrow1962 2 месяца назад

      @ I understand exactly but that is the answer. The Google map even puts a small box up to ask you is that is the correct speed limit for that road. Like the majority of people, you are driving so just ignore it.
      Looking at the speed limit isn’t a problem, it’s easier than looking at your left hand mirror or radio . I also have my icons on Large which helps as I’m old. Lol have a great day and thanks for the chat. Again, I’m old…

    • @MarekDrivesENG
      @MarekDrivesENG  2 месяца назад +1

      I'd even say knowing the speed limit is the driver's job, and having it up on the screen is nice to have. And that's all fine. HOWEVER these days information displayed on the screen is used by Intelligent Speed Assistant (ISA), which will beep at you for going over the limit (which in this case you're not, because you know it's a false positive, but the car doesn't). ISA will also alert you that the speed limit's changed (another bong), and if you have the adaptive cruise control set to automatically set your speed to whatever the limit in the area is, all of a sudden you're decelerating from 120 to 50, when everyone else is still driving 120.
      So, I couldn't care less if it's displaying "time for ice cream" on the screen, as long as it doesn't make any noises, and it's not connected to my brakes. Unfortunately it does, and it can be. That's the issue I'm trying to emphasise here.

    • @Odinscrow1962
      @Odinscrow1962 2 месяца назад

      @@MarekDrivesENG I agree, usually you know the rough speed you are going from the sound your car makes - even EV’s make a noise + the tyres

    I think it’s a very nice looking car but the rear legroom is a bit disappointing, however it’s made in China and probably marketed towards the Chinese who are relatively short. The dash is so basic. I’m not a fan of a tablet controlling everything. I think I’d rather pay extra for an XC40.

    Volvo has always been distinguished by its elegant design and quality. But China remains China... even for a lot of money... well, they can't make anything high-quality, even with the hands of Europeans... or rather, with their heads)) Apparently, mass production wins over reliability.

    Beautiful in the outside, "not so good" in the inside. It is a "software car", and to make it more dramatic, it is an "Android" software car. In the future, maybe Android could a choice, at the present only to phones in my opinion. If the battery goes dead totally for whatever reason, would that mean not being able to open the doors??? These type of vehicles give you "added stress" (for that reason but for many many others also and in this particular car) instead of "peace of mind" when using/owning it.
