    #oldhollywoodstars #hollywood #celebrity
In the shimmering spotlight of country music stages during the 1970s and 80s, where traditional melodies met innovation, Barbara Mandrell emerged as a dazzling star. She was not only an exceptional vocalist but also a symbol of boldness, creativity, and resilience in the entertainment industry. With two prestigious Entertainer of the Year awards from the Country Music Association - an honor achieved by only a select few female artists to this day - Mandrell continually won the hearts of fans with chart-topping hits like "Sleeping Single in a Double Bed" and "I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool."
Yet, behind that glamour lies a story filled with contradictions and deep emotion. How could a star at the peak of her career abruptly step away from the limelight? What drove Barbara Mandrell to leave behind such a stellar career to embrace a peaceful life with her family? Was it the pain of a tragic accident, or simply the heartfelt call of motherhood?
Let us delve into the extraordinary journey of Barbara Mandrell - a legend who not only defined country music but also embodied a story of struggle, sacrifice, and profound values that transcend the bright lights of the stage.

I had the absolute pleasure of dancing with this Incredible little lady at the Women Marine’s Club at Camp Pendleton, California to a Bobby Vinton song in 1965. It was one of the biggest highlights of my life. She was Miss Oceanside California at the time. I even went through the Barbara Mandrell Museum at the top of Music Row in Nashville. What impressed me most about Barbara is - she put her family before her entertainment. Her children and her husband come first. I thank you Barbara for allowing me to be a part of your life - even for a few minutes.. I will have the Pleasure of meeting you again - in Heaven. I gave my heart to the Lord Jesus Christ - as you have Barbara - the same year you were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The memories we gathered while listening to her music, and watched her tv shows.
Mom and, sat watching BM and sisters on her tv show.

Was privileged to have met Her at the Lowe's Anatole Dallas Texas via the Merve Griffin Show around 1980 and Requested Barbara to sing "The Rose"..She did it marvelously and ask where I lived and I told Her Waycross Ga and She mentioned sweet memories of Fort Valley, Ga. I was born in Screven Ga on 12/30/1948 and She said She was born around that same time. I shall always cherish this special memory. Yahweh bless You 🙌 SHALOM

May God continue to bless Barbara. Her staunch decision to live by her true standards of devotion and integrity is truly an uplifting standard to give people the direction and example to strive for. I'ts truly nowadays rare to have someone as devoted to integrity and decisions to live a life of dedication to be true to her decision to not compromise her standards of her life and it is a very uplifting example for all of us to live by. God bless her with all blessings from above !!!!!!!

I've listened to Country Music for over 60 years, and I loved her singing.
Ironically, I was in a head on crash when a woman crossed the center line. It totaled my fairly new mini pickup. This was in the mid '80s. When the police arrived I was asked, "Where did they take the driver's body?" I told them that I was the driver, an was told that I was obviously not wearing a seatbelt because I was thrown sideways, instead of forward and the seatbelt would have killed me. I told him the truck was seven months old, and it was the only time that I didn't wear it. I had stopped for gasoline a mile before the wreck. When I put on the seatbelt, I had an intense, burning pain that went away when I removed it.

I knew Barbara years ago before she became famous. Her dad Irby and my dad Lloyd Wood were very close friends. They had worked together as young men before Barbara or I was born. Her and her family use to come by and stay with my family from time to time. But as she and her sisters Louise and Irlene became famous we saw less and less of them. I guess the last time I saw and visited with her and her dad was after the Houston Livestock show and rodeo after she had performed there around 1985. Fame and fortune can sure change a person whether they want to or not .

She had the beauty, the eyes, the hair, the costumes, the acting, the singing voice, the ability to dance, performing with any instrument , she was country, she was rock and roll, she was a leader, had her own show, she performed for the troops, and she is a Christian….!
And unlike Taylor swift she didn’t need to cuss or sleep with everybody or need Diddy and his warped , sinful, mind to get there….

I've always been a Barbara Mandrell fan, love her music, a true country legend ! I had 10-12 of her albums i treasured, but it still hurts that in 2023 had a house fire and lost ALL of them, along with a 150-200 other great albums ! Damn! And why the heck does a Barbara Mandrell tribute have a couple clips of Reba McIntyre?! Mandrell is a 9 stars out of 10 icon, McIntyre is a 2 stars out of 10 "so-so artist", AND a misguided, air-headed, has-been with bucket of screws and bolts replacing brains, for her dumb-ass move to become a gun-ban-and-control-freak!
