The thing about trainspotting is that it kinda leaves you with a feeling like "ohh look at this mischievous fun they're having." This movie, Heaven Knows What is actually what dope addiction is like for many people.
I thought it was fantastic. It was completely true to it's message. She REALLY IS that person. She REALLY DOES have these problems. I loved her and I really ached for her situation. ❤
This movie is very, very accurate at depicting homeless opiate addiction. The characters and what they say is genuine. I can no longer watch this movie because it is a huge trigger to use heroin.
It’s one of those indie films which is perfectly well done but everything’s very flatly told and you aren’t given too much of a reason to care about the characters, it’s not as bad with that as some other films I’ve seen but still
@@craydogdog1530 I think he was actually referring to Kermode being upset that the characters are continually unsympathetic, which is to be fair to the film basically an accurate depiction of homelessness/addiction, much more real and hellish than what's comfortable to watch. I think the movie did right by showing her in a scene watching Hellraiser, as it's basically a horror movie of how far one human can fall, reminds me a bit of some Black Mirror episodes.
is the argument that the depictions are too realistic and aren't made relatable? sorry but "i don't relate to the characters" (and how could this guy) its not the fault of the movie

It was so real I forget it was a film. It had voyeuristic vibes
This film made me tear up by the end. It's incredibly depressing and so many people actually experience this plot every day.
Quite a good movie, but, man, was it a tough watch.
+0=Axel=0 Why?
Very gritty and depressing.

In my experiences being homeless and physically dependent on opiates this was similar to my life
@@systemvoid Yes, To criticize a film endeavoring to be gritty and realistic for being being too gritty and realistic is nonsense.
hold on, camera work is not hand held buddy
