Paul Potts is amazing in that he is singing in the Korean language. There is no end to his talent but what I can't figure is why he doesn't perform here in the states. He seems to concentrate in Asian counties.

Keep it short, the length is like 'sun', not like 'sahn'. The second syllable tends to be spoken at a higher pitch than the first, and the last syllable at a lower pitch than the first. No doubt Paul Potts is a great singer, but some of his pronunciation was quite off, especially the vowels. He probably hasn't actually studied Korean though, so it was a good effort. For example, 우 오 and 어 seemed to swap around at random, and they all seemed to be substitutes for 으, which I didn't hear clearly even once. I found it kind of distracting and couldn't enjoy listening as much as I should have been able to.

Well yeah, I made similar comments actually about pronunciation spoiling it a bit. I think he should have had more guidance and training, but knowing Korea I'll bet he didn't get as much time as he wanted to prepare. As a foreigner myself, I didn't pick up on the lack of emotion at first, but I just watched again after reading your comments and I agree, he looks and sounds like he is just doing his job, where as Ali is singing from the heart.
