There is an evolutionary arms race between plants and animals. Plants want to survive and thrive but they can't run away from animals so they have developed chemical warfare. Almost all plants are poisonous, and those that aren't contain toxins, hormone disruptors, anti-nutrients, etc. to ward off their predators. Plants are no benevolent hosts for people and animals, they want to reproduce and populate the earth. Plants have more carcinogenic pesticides than those which farmers spray on their crops. They are NOT “cheesesteak subs”, “Philly cheesesteaks,” “Philly sandwiches,” “Philly,” or any similar name. It is a “cheesesteak,” and anything by any other name is not worth eating.) When I was in graduate school in Chicago, my sister brought a Max’s cheesesteak to me when she visited. I ate the cheesesteak outside in an area where vegans were protesting meat consumption. One of the protesters tried to knock my cheesesteak out of my hand. When I stood up to warn her of a consequential @$$ whipping, she backed down when she saw a powerful 6’1 female. It's weird that as a society we see more wrong with some diners having their meal interrupted than with a defenceless animal being killed, dismembered and eaten just because they think it tastes good.
@@Floydrush-zx9wz "how about you go to Africa, and protest to the Lions, Hyena's, and ALL the other Predators, to not kill "defenseless animals, dismember and eat them" just because IT KEEPS THEM ALIVE !" Because natural predators like lions and hyenas don't have the same moral agency that we do as humans. We've evolved with the capacity for greater empathy and know why it's wrong to kill or hurt someone without any kind of just cause. We aren't wild animals. We don't need to kill to survive. "Oh and before you claim that "Humans have a choice," yes they do...I chose to eat meat, AND, would/have, kill to eat." Yes, humans do have a choice. But that doesn't give us the right to act on those choices. For example, if I were to buy a machine gun, walk into a school and start shooting, that would be MY choice, right? Doesn't make it moral just because I chose to do it. In the modern world most of us do not need to kill to survive. This alone makes the choice to kill for food morally unjustified. "If you where staving in a desert, with No vegetation to eat.... would you starve to death, or kill any wildlife you found to live ?" I'd starve to death. I don't think my throwing up after having consumed raw corpse would really increase my chances of survival. But again, we don't live in a survival situation so this is a pointless avenue to explore. "What I would say is "Weird," is Vegans, who think they have "The right" to impugn on other people's rights, to IMPOSE their doctrine, by DEMANDING/DEMONSTRATING by interrupting people's meals" Vegans, as with every other group or individual in the west, has the right to protest. Do anti domestic abuse charities elicit the same response from you? Is their insistence that you shouldn't abuse your spouse "doctrine"? Vegans campaign for an end to unjust, unnecessary suffering, if that makes you a dick then I guess I'm a dick.
The vegan of a vegan restaurant is that the food does not contain products derived from animals. It would be like a halal or Kosher restaurant featuring pork, it would completely go against the idea of the restaurant. Vegan food being included on the menu of a restaurant that serves meat does not create the same contradiction.
you should counter extort them, offer to sell them a deer that will be slaughtered otherwise every time they show up. Or alternatively you could threaten to slaughter 1 extra deer every week for every protest they hold

7:50 "If you do eat meat you should be able to kill an animal, and experience it." He is so right. Later he mentions that this way people would not be wasting that much meat. That is also right, and in its weird way it is also respectful towards the animals that die to give their lives and flesh to feed us or other animals.
Ive been vegan for several years. Its the best health choice ive ever made and it aleves any conviction as im trying to live my personal philosophy. If you consume meat you should be capable of taking the life, and have the knowledge on how to skin, clean, and utilize every part you can. I personally believe with the rise of civilation, at a certain point its considered unnecessary and barbaric/tribal and its realized that hunting animals is only a survival niche when civilization collapses and we resort back to hunter gatherers. You cant worry about other folks. Even though certain vegans may be zealous and want to spread awareness of beings wanting to live their life, they fall into the same trap as religious zealouts who attempt to spread their message. It becomes forceful and too emotional based rather than understanding that if you believe this to be true, you can only silently live that truth to its fullest in order for it to imapct people the way you desire.
I am from India where I and my whole family do practice vegetarianism from many generations( which is little different from veganism). In India 34% people are pure vegetarian and 3% are vegans. However, majority of people do consume non veg items mostly fish or chicken but not beef or pork, unless they are not the part of Christian or Muslim communities. I guess we should respect everyone way of life and their eating habits.

Both of these guys admitted that they feel remorse about animals being killed. They even stopped themselves from that “necessary evil” bullshit because they know this evil we commit is 100% unnecessary. Trivial emotions can only overcome rationality and facts in times of disparity. That time is coming to an end.

I would say that most Canadians have never had venison. It's very uppity, for the people who live in places like Rosedale or Shaughnessy. Them and hunters. Regular Canadians buy what's at the supermarket - beef, pork, and chicken. Venison is fancy-shmancy. Besides, it's expensive and not as tasty as other meats. Hm. @ecosophist I can only speak from my experience, and you are not my relative so I don't mean to contradict your beliefs or position here, but I do want to share from my experience. In my community/family hunting is more than necessary it is a responsibility, and a vessel to share important teachings, values, and beliefs to our young people. All things are living including the plant people, and there is nothing lost when an animal gives itself to us freely. There is much more to the practice of hunting than subsistence, it helps protect the integrity of our culture and gives us an opportunity to act with reciprocity and give back to the land and our non-human relations. I think the above comment regarding a disconnection from the land and nature is an important point across many communities and people(s). It is a concern I have for my own people and is something we should pay attention to even if this is not happening in our own communities as it will impact all of our relations and future generations. I just thought it was important to contribute this to the dialogue as well, thank you for sharing your experience.
ecosophist how about the ones in this story? do you really think your one case totally disproves the existence of vegans like that? even meat eaters are separated from nature and just because it isnt necessary for you doesn't mean it isn't for anyone else, people exist outside of you and your life experience
bootes buddy say what you said in your last paragraph to yourself and stop judging vegans. Start judging liberals vegans who protest and act like this, I'm conservative but don't eat meat and I'd never protest to those who do
@ecsophist Thanks for sharing this information. It appears we just have some conflicting beliefs and underlying assumptions about the nature of reality. I believe in the stories, practices, and traditions of my old people. My community does have access to an array of modern conveniences, I stated hunting is responsability because it plays an essential role in ceremonial practices and sharing our traditional values and teachings with the next generation. There is nothing lost when the animal chooses to give itself to our people. The argument presented by Francione is based upon the assumption that death is inherently negative and there is a loss during this process. My beliefs assume there nothing inherently negative about death when the animal people are properly respected and cared for in their transition to the other side. They give their selves to our people because there is no loss and due to the reciprocal relationship we have with our animal relatives since the beginning of time. I agree with your comments regarding the abuse of animals and am furthermore concerned about the abuse of the plant people(s)/nations as well. The articles you have shared also demonstrate my initial concern that a disconnection from the "natural world" is occurring within many communities and people(s). I am making the assumption that the examples you have shared of cruelty and a lack of respect towards the animal people are a product of the colonial influence from the indoctrination and adoption of external values through the process of colonization and residential schools. I agree the "Hollywood Indian" is a negative and misleading stereotype for Native People(s), it's not my intention to perpetuate that stereotype, and the culture is far from all peaches and roses. Equally so, it is difficult to adequately represent an Indigenous worldview/perspective in the English language without engaging external Euro-connotations. I believe in my old people's oral histories, teachings, and traditions they have brought a lot of great things into my life and make me feel happy. I also believe in the sacredness of my homelands and my responsibility to preserve these homelands for the generations to come, just as my old people did for me. We are both making some underlying assumptions about the nature of reality, I do not think either position is invalid. I appreciate you taking the time to articulate your position further and for providing resources for me to understand it further. In return, if you would like to understand my position further I recommend reading "Coyote and Raven Go Canoeing: Coming Home to the Village" by Peter Cole.

When I was in graduate school in Chicago, my sister brought a Max’s cheesesteak to me when she visited.
I ate the cheesesteak outside in an area where vegans were protesting meat consumption. One of the protesters tried to knock my cheesesteak out of my hand.
When I stood up to warn her of a consequential @$$ whipping, she backed down when she saw a powerful 6’1 female.
From that point onward, I never cared for vegans. They have no right to control what others eat. She was gonna get it big time if she f’d up my cheesesteak though.

@@Floydrush-zx9wz "how about you go to Africa, and protest to the Lions, Hyena's, and
ALL the other Predators, to not kill "defenseless animals, dismember

Because natural predators like lions and hyenas don't have the same moral agency that we do as humans. We've evolved with the capacity for greater empathy and know why it's wrong to kill or hurt someone without any kind of just cause. We aren't wild animals. We don't need to kill to survive.
"Oh and before you claim that "Humans have a choice," yes they
do...I chose to eat meat, AND, would/have, kill to eat."
Yes, humans do have a choice.
"If you where staving in a desert, with No vegetation to eat....
would you starve to death, or kill any wildlife you found to live ?"
I'd starve to death. I don't think my throwing up after having consumed raw corpse would really increase my chances of survival. But again, we don't live in a survival situation so this is a pointless avenue to explore.
"What I would say is "Weird," is Vegans, who think they have "The right"

Vegans, as with every other group or individual in the west, has the right to protest. Do anti domestic abuse charities elicit the same response from you? Is their insistence that you shouldn't abuse your spouse "doctrine"? Vegans campaign for an end to unjust, unnecessary suffering, if that makes you a dick then I guess I'm a dick.

7:50 "If you do eat meat you should be able to kill an animal, and experience it."
He is so right.

@@adamtheninjasmith2985 They have been going after HIspanics, Cubans mostly, and demanding they fire 1/4 of their staff and replace them with AA. They also must give a certain percentage of everything the business makes to BLM.
Johnny Rico RIP Stringer Bell literally nothing? Man those BLM guys are nuts, out there literally not doing the thing you just accused them of lmao

I wanna eat here in spite of the protesters.
I wanna eat there because of the protesters. Have a nice steak right by the window.
Ya, They fucked up! Now the guy has millions of views. This will do nothing but help the business.

I'd pay extra for that experience.
Same just show how much I’m enjoying it right infront of them :)
I want to go there right now. I want to know if you are considering outdoor seating and whether you serve deer heart and liver?
Dang, I belong in Toronto!
I’m a vegan but I do not push my views on anyone and couldn’t care less if other people eat meat, that’s something u gotta decide within urself! ✌🏻

What you on about, you eat BABY carrots you sick fuck
You're the best!
How many ecosystems were destroyed for ur lettuce farm? The trees the birds the squirrels the frogs the birds the hogs the bunny. You murderer!
Couldn't wait to announce your pussy veganism , could ya?
Eating deer meat (venison) is as Canadian as maple syrup and hockey.
Our ancestors were raised on it. I know ojibwa who still roast beaver for crying out loud.
Good for them!
Devin Bray lucky, Michigan Ojibwa are money loving tax evaders
I eat beaver at night only lol
I would say that most Canadians have never had venison. It's very uppity, for the people who live in places like Rosedale or Shaughnessy. Them and hunters. Regular Canadians buy what's at the supermarket - beef, pork, and chicken. Venison is fancy-shmancy. Besides, it's expensive and not as tasty as other meats. Hm. Looks like you might have to rework your theory there. Now poutine on the other hand, or Nanaimo bars, ... Well...
@@TILEROB hows beaver meat? i only know the living form of beaver engineering their dams....
He should've walked out there and started kicking ass and taking names. Use that deer leg as club.
I originally thought the title read "Butchering Deer in Front of Vegas Protestors"
I love it! The Canadian hunting community has been invigorated by this story, coming to the defence of the restaurant and proprietor. Either of you are welcome at the cabin for a wild game dinner any time!
My Self Reliance I know I wanna take a trip just to eat at his resteraunt.
Hey Sean, Never thought I would see you on JRE. Cheers from one of your subs in Bay Area!
My Self Reliance i loved those videos of you building and living out of your cabin, hated those facebook cry babies that said it was such a waste of time and wood though
Just finished watching your cabin videos. I love what you're doing with your channel. Keep up the good work! -From a fellow Canadian
Love your videos man. I hope to build my own cabin in the future

If I ever go to Toronto I’ll definitely be feasting there……keep defending yourself
The reality is that this guy didn’t start it, those hipster vegans did.
Yeah but he did finish it. LOL
Just mock their slogan and put "eat cleaner, eat a vegan"
Butchering deer and elk was a family activity when I was growing up. Dear lord, people have become so separated from the land and nature.
ecosophist May not be talking about veganism as a concept, but society as a whole
@ecosophist
I can only speak from my experience, and you are not my relative so I don't mean to contradict your beliefs or position here, but I do want to share from my experience.
I just thought it was important to contribute this to the dialogue as well, thank you for sharing your experience.
ecosophist how about the ones in this story? do you really think your one case totally disproves the existence of vegans like that? even meat eaters are separated from nature
and just because it isnt necessary for you doesn't mean it isn't for anyone else, people exist outside of you and your life experience
bootes buddy say what you said in your last paragraph to yourself and stop judging vegans. Start judging liberals vegans who protest and act like this, I'm conservative but don't eat meat and I'd never protest to those who do
@ecsophist
Thanks for sharing this information.
So this kind of protest is ok in Canada, but not the Truckers protesting for medial autonomy?
