If you look at bf3/4/1/5 gun sway its smooth left to right like a soldier running. If you play bf2042 the soldier gun sway is real bouncy up and down jittery gun sway and it really kills the immersion imo

BF4 is without a doubt my favourite BF ever. Wish they’d just re-release this with all map packs with a slight graphical upgrade and improve the vaulting mechanics a little

Wow...how can bf4 still look so good, not even the weapon models or textures look truly dated compared to 2042. This game was peak battlefield... bf4+bf1 would be an instant classic.
BF4 was probably peak Battlefield imo. Lots of weapon choices, awesome maps, and the vehicle mechanics actually felt good/realistic compared to 2042. If the next BF title takes the BF4 fundamentals, give it a graphics update along with a few other improvements, they'd probably have an instant hit.

I play on the German 24/7 Metro servers pretty often and it’s usually a pretty good time. I’ve only been banned from one server too which is nice. Generally the server jannies aren’t too awful.
idk how it is for the rest of the maps, bcs I only play metro and there is several highly populated servers, I play on the OLEG server mostly and its full in the afternoon/evening
BF4 with BF3 maps would have been perfect. BF4 mechanically was better but I still loved the map design of BF3 way more. All they had to do was keep adding content to BF4 and they would have had a fantastic Battlefield live service.
Actually they have the free dlc for bf4. I think its called legacy operations or something. Played Operation Firestorm and Caspian border today in BF4 atleast

Battlebit is great and I've been playing it a lot but I think the presentation battlefield used to have was such a big reason for me loving the series.

ALL of the DLC/Premium content was released within a year of BF4's launch replete with a ton of weapons and roughly 20ish new maps by the year end of the first year. "bUt wHaT aBoUt bF4 aT lAuNcH" doesnt matter because it became playable far quicker with much more content. It's a lazy, lazy excuse for how slowly 2042 has become playable and how slowly maps are being released.
Levelution as a term became a bit of a meme, but damn did BF4 have some amazing level changing effects in the game. That hurricane changing the map was fantastic, and that map with the skyscraper you could take down. Good stuff.
If only DICE had continue on this path we would have gotten bigger maps, more vehicules, weapons and a larger player count. But no they decided they wanted a COD/Destiny cosmetics based multiplayer salad.
I like the movement in bf4....feels smooth and purposeful.....bf2042 is way to fast and spastic....plus it uses stupid slide mechanics and the lame specialist that can fly and use a grappling hook.
Been playing BF4 since the failure of 2042, its so much fun and have met so many diverse people! Also, currently playing as an aggressive defib main only, shout out to the ZAPP crew.

Truly, without a doubt, those nights of adrenaline filled rage, quests for vengeance, frustration with yourself and teammates, endless curse words, caffeine induced frenzies at 3am. This was peak gaming. 2014 to 2016 will always be remembered thanks to BF4. I come on youtube every now and then and search BF4 for nostalgia.
I miss BF4. The last time I checked, no one was playing on the South African servers. What I really miss is the uncomplicated gameplay, you could pull in to a game and have fun for a couple of rounds.

It never died really, still can get quite a few sub 70 ping servers in the EU. People started coming back after BF1 and V. Still the best modern day BF game, along with BF3.
I remember leaving spawn in the heli and getting hit by active radar missiles from the enemy mobile AA sitting on the other side of the map. That's why all the heli pilots played Siege of Shanghai (to the dismay of everyone else on the server).

Played recently and plenty of servers were still populated, it’s not even just nostalgic - it’s still a genuinely BRILLIANT game! I had so much fun on it still - even managed a video out of it! Didn’t find it to be a one off session either, found myself playing a few times a week lately 🙌🏼

you know why this game is fun! i was hooked for years. i was stuck in the Golmud highway large conquest. scout chopper all day. 1st place every time and playing on pc. i took a break and havent played in over a year. i still watch your vids and live vicariously through you.
Masterpiece of a game. Honestly the best game of the series, and for me, the best fps of the 2010s. 3 was more impressive and had better maps but the balance in 4 is excellent.

Just jumped back on for the first time in ages, had a blast for a few hours. There's just something about that game, feels like seeing an old friend every time.
The sounds of the kills, the font and color of a kill; the way it pops up on the screen, the guns, are very satisfying. They just need to update it badly
Just happens that my friends and I decided to jump on BF4 on Xbox. Still has lots of people playing, didn’t see any hacking and still holds up as the best battlefield I think.
BF4 has the best replay value of any game I've ever played. For a game that's been out for a decade, it's aged phenomenally well. The sound design, the graphics and the gameplay still feel fresh. I'm still trying new weapons that I've never used before or just overlooked. Hell, I even bought a CZ-75 because I fell in love with how good it is as a sidearm on here.
Can we all just agree to start playing this game again please!

yeah battlebit was refreshing but the SFX quality and other art effects really make this type of game pop

I went back to this game recently, and was surprised with how slow and clunky the movement felt compared to the newer games. Gameplay is still amazing

I subbed to watch you play BF4 like 7 years ago, watching you keep the recoil down now like you’ve spent so long mastering the controls is impressive.

Parcel Storm was an amazing map, I have fond memories of it and even fonder memories of that map when they brought it to Rory McIlroy's PGA Tour.
