Someone who advocates distance, not harassing, and respect for wildlife. That gets a big like.
Wow, he’s gorgeous
He sure is Kim. Such a gift to be able to see a magnificent creature like this in real life.
I clicked and watched with hesitation because so many wildlife videos are of people being disrespectful of an animal’s space and territory. Thank you so much for doing it right and for sharing it with us. ☺️ ❤️ 🙏 Beautiful video of an amazing bear!
Wow, thank you
Wow, the first bear video with a narrator explaining the shoot and giving safety warnings. Thanks!
I was hiking in Banff one year, and although I never saw any bears, I did stop to enjoy the view over the valley from this one spot on the trail.
As I stood there, I suddenly had this feeling that someone or something was watching me. So, i looked around, and to my surprise and delight, I discovered that there was a wolf sitting about 20 feet behind me watching me. He (or she) looked very comfortable, and we just looked each other over for a few minutes. I didn't feel like I was in any danger, and the wolf showed no signs of aggression.
Rather, by his ears and his attitude, he seemed very curious.
Then, finally, he just got up and without looking back, trotted off at a slow pace into the trees and disappeared.
It made my whole day!
That sounds like an incredible experience. Good for you!
Not money, this makes me jealous 😍
You did really a good job by watching a grizzly without disturbing him and without putting yourself in danger and the most important without compromising the video quality😊
Bears are beautiful, yet, i hope i never see one up close 😂
Kudos to you and your warnings. Beautiful footage. We saw “the Boss” moving along the tracks by one of the RR intersections in town. We stayed in our vehicle . But Park’s wardens were quick on the scene to keep those with a lethal lack of common sense, away.
Oh wow you were fortunate to have a glimpse of this gentle giant. This time of year the Wardens are certainly on top of that area, especially when there are reports of bears so close to town.
Wow thank you for the amazing vlog. Everything is just perfect from the narration to the sounds of wildlife and the velvety bear.
Glad you enjoyed it! I was trying to re-create the real experience as best I could. I was fortunate.
yeah walks like a boss, looks like a boss...respect
That is one big bear, wow, such an impressive animal.
Great footage! Thank you for warning people and making clear you were on distance because if this thing starts playing hide and seek with you ...
I like the end of video telling everyone to have respect for the wild life and ex. Thank you
He is beautiful & huge!! Ty, for sharing & for staying safe & reminding people to keep their distance!
He is indeed a beautiful gift from nature. It was my pleasure to share and hopefully educate a little. Thanks for watching!
@@InsidersTravelGuideCanada Hi what do you think of the youtuber named Patrick Conley? He feeds black bears and has them visiting his house multiple times a day. Do you think this is safe like he says or is it extremely stupid and dangerous? I don't know much about bears so don't know myself. Thanks
@@InsidersTravelGuideCanada it looks like it might have been "the boss". not sure tho.
Bears are beautiful and huge, but never mistake them for friendly.
@@Neilukuk Black bear vs Griz is much different. Also a captive or fed/ commonly fed animal will react differently than a Grizzelyy in the wild with hurt cubs or maybe starving, I promise noone is feeding that bear by hand
What a beautiful and strong beast!
I appreciate your safety warnings at the end of the video. Too many wildlife videos make it look very easy and totally safe to come close to large and/aggressive animals for the right photo.
So Cute! 🐻
Great film and thanks for putting out advice for safety!
Glad you enjoyed it
was in jasper 2 days ago . 1 hour of driving into jasper we already encountered a black bear. it was a surreal experience
Gosh darn, he's so fluffy and cuddly looking, I just wanted to run over to him and give him a big hug!
We were soooo blessed to have seen it
This animals demands respect.
How refreshing! A sweet video about a wonderful sighting of a very huge bear in the wild. A message about loving wildlife and letting it be (they're not your buddies to sit and be petted and share a beer with). We need more of you to counter all the "scary bear" videos of people getting eaten alive.
Thank you very much! And I could not agree more. Too many videos out there based on fear mongering. Life is too short for that and the world is way to awesome!!
Stunning and very well said message!
Yep you don't have to tell me twice to stay back especially if they look uncomfortable. Love the video .. beautiful scenery and the bear is beautifully impressive.
You got that right! Thanks for watching my video and thanks for your feedback.
If you've never seen a diagram of a bear's muscle structure and skeletal layout ... they make any top athlete or muscle builder look like your typical human grandmother. And they're in peak physical condition, steel springs, armed.
0:27 maybe next time, you can stand there as a size reference.
After the Grizzly has left of course 😊
Thanks and great advise
My pleasure! I'm glad you find this video informative.
Fantastic!!! I've only seen a Mom with cubs!! So lucky!!
Wow! Did you see a Grizzly with cubs or black bear? Either way so amazing! Make sure you subscribe and you'll get notified about my upcoming video with Bears and Cubs!
@@InsidersTravelGuideCanada it was definitely a Grizzly mom with cubs. Walking near the railroad tracks between Banff and LL.
Definitely want to stay far away from mom with cubs! They're the most dangerous to ppl if they get too close!
Awesome!! ❤
Yes georgeous boss. Love him!
Beautiful ❤
Che magnifico esemplare !!
Banff and Jasper tourist information signs and literature make it very clear to stay 30 metres away from elk, deer, etc. and 100 metres away from bears, We ere there in the summer and people are taking selfies with elk 20 feet behind them. They are either clueless or just don’t care.
To Insiders Travel Guide. That is Amazing TYFS with us. I've never seen them in Alberta that Close, even when I Lived there from 1960 to 1976. While I've been in Wyoming, the Last 45 yrs. I've viewed them in Yellowstone, & Glacier NPs, from Say 400 Yards away too Less than 35 Yards, Twice in Yellowstone. The first in YSNP, was One Early May, at a Pull Out alongside the Yellowstone River, between Fishing Bridge, & going N. to the Canyon Village Jct, Complex & Intersection. A "Big" Sub Adult 🐻🐻 Boar! Came out of the Deep Trees 🌲🌲& Foliage alongside the Park Highway. He Stayed Parallel to the HWY for a Short Distance. And then He headed Over the Ridgeline. Down toward the Trout Creek Drainage which then Flows. In from due West, into the Yellowstone River. About a Half to Quarter mile. From the Pull Out, that Overlooks the Yellowstone River Valley.
That Encounter Happened in Late May of 1997, I recall 🤔🤔 it Was? On that Occasion. I Had the Company of,
A really Dear, Sadly Departed Friend, of Mine with Me. That very Great Day. The Memory, for Me? IS Just Like it Happened Yesterday Still. As For My Friend? He was Born a True Blue, Veteran & A Native Wyomingiete. Raised in the Bighorn Mountains. That was His One and Only Trip to Yellowstone National Park. As an Adult. So that made Our Visit that much more Special, for Us. (We saw more Bears both types, Bison, Elk, Deer, Moose, Coyotes, Wolf's, etc etc we saw them all that Day for His Sake I'm thinking it was.) So Thanks Again So Much for Sharing? Your Special Encounter with Us. May God Bless all The Beast's & The Children too. AMEN.
Wyoming, Robert,🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸👍🤔👀👀👏👏💭💭🙏🙏🙏
Robert, Yellowstone is a place I long to visit. You are fortunate and it sounds like you've had some great experiences there!
First of all, thank you for the short introduction.
You're welcome!
I have heard stories of the massive grizzly bear The Boss that lives out there in Banff National Park. Too actually see footage of him he’s a big intimidating but beautiful bear.
Gorgeous freaking beast.
Amazing!
Thanks! It was quite an experience for sure.
Great video. What was your physical distance from the bear?
Beautiful
Nice Video
Beautiful Big boy.
Thanks for beautiful clip,Can you tell which Camera and Lens you are using to shoot the bear.
Thanks! I belive at the time it was a JVC HM700U with a Fujinon 20x optical zoom lens.
Smart man 👏
Stunning ❤️
Thank you! 😊
Apex predator… just waiting for the next unsuspecting meal to foolishly enter its domain.
Run!!!!
Great advice keep your distance x
He is such a handsome healthy looking guy the bear of course and you as well sir 😁
Blushing. Thank you!
Great video and commentary
Glad you enjoyed it! It was a very special morning indeed. Something to never forget.
He looks so thick and all but the moment he starts charging at you, that story changes
Hey Bear ! Beautiful!
Hey hey!
so healthy never seen one that healthy looking
He's gorgeous!
He sure is.
He’s really dark in colour. Beautiful from afar. Oh boy BIG BIG BIG BEAR !!
Damn , he's super huge ...
Just wants a picnic basket
Curious how far you were away from the grizzly? I'm very surprised to hear clear creaking sounds from the Bear's walking steps.
Good point! I was very far away. I had a shotgun microphone on my camera that is like a telescope for sound. Very important piece of equipment.
LOL @ WILDLIFE SAFETY WARNINGS .
The boss is missing part of his right ear. This could be the boss, but his right ear doesn't seem to be missing a chunk?
Good point! This video was taken years ago however.
Dayumn massive pre-harbination bear. Holy #$@#!!!!
Reminds me of THE BEAR in the movie THE BEAR..
He can smell u..😂
I wonder if his stomach is full of human meat now ? Reminds me of a giant rat without a tail.
I went to banff national Park
That's a big boy
He sure is!!
How big is the boss. At his size I would go somewhere around 900 to 1000 lbs.
Nádherné zviera . Odhadol by som ho na 400 kg . 👍👍🌲🌲
a very beautiful grizzly indeed. But when we see there is one of this in front of us, there is no time to back off as it will most probably go after us like a truck
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Something completely different, but: What was the meal 😳 0:19
Those of us who have enjoyed James Oliver Curwood's "The Grizzly King" are immediately reminded of Thor, the magnificent grizzly.
Parks Canada Elk Island National Park east of Edmonton, Alberta a PAMPHLET "DEAD MAN'S RUN." PICTURE OF BUFFALO / BISON RUNNING AFTER A MAN.
This is not said enough about dangers of wildlife encounters.
Big boss man I can't get enough of this massive beautiful bear
#122 The Boss
I think the boss has more scarring around his face from his years of fighting other males over females. This guy looks younger to me, but who knows.
This was years ago so what you say makes sense in terms of the changing appearance.
The boss?
I'll say!
I mean where the hell they disappear to ?
they dont hibernate?
I'm terrified of bears, they can tear you apart and there's not a thing you can do about it and it's a probably top 3 worst ways to die.
But seeing one in the wild is absolutely one of the top 3 ways to live!
Why does the guy at the beginning kinda look like a Romulan? 🤔
LOL. I'll take that as a compliment. I've always loved Star Trek!!
is this the bear that ate the two people this week in banff ? must be
Chonky bear. Great footage.
Thanks 👍
How the heck do they get so big? Seems like they would need to eat hundreds of thousands of calories per day to maintain that mass.
And...they are omnivors who eat primarily vegetarian! In the fall raspberries and bear berries are a rich source of sugars that help with those calories. In the spring the dandilions are the same.
Best advice ever - back off - especially if the look uncomfortable.
What part of Portugal is this?
Portugal? -this is in Canada - Rocky mountains Banff National Park.
Buddy reminds me of the blond guy that got eaten by grizzlies doing similar close encounters show off filming... probably the same bear that ate the 2 hikers and their dog, but we'll never know cause tourism is more important than studying the stomach contents and using the bear dna on the scene to track them down and put them down. I agree with the previous comment of how they actually do look exactly like a giant tailless rat.
I live in Alberta and see all types of wildlife often because we ski, hike, and mtn bike all year. One animal we do not have is rats. I have never seen a rat in my life.
A bear is a tailless rat.@@AB..__..
Well when the gov starts taking over the bosses territory and floods the territory with drugs and booze what do you think what would happen soon as the booze runs out the boss gets pissed
Steve Berr
Sure looks like it would be soft and cozy by my fireplace....what? I didn't say skinned.
Well, since it's a National Park you'll have to take him on without a weapon hee hee.
@@InsidersTravelGuideCanada I wouldn't take him on with a tank! har har
This people speak like these bears gone somewhere awhile and appear again ? What do you people mean by that ? You mean they holes or hide out for months , couple of months maybe after winter and they comes out ?
Is brown bear Syrian bear
The Syrian brown bear is 1 subspecies of brown bear.
Wow, you must have big rats where you live. There are no rats in Alberta.
Good advice, I would recommend not approaching wild animals even if they do look comfortable!
yeah i go out of my way to avoid these guys. Buddies tricked me into camping in grizzly territory, while on acid, and trekkimg through a dark forest at 1 at night.
Come on, this was no encounter, its a safety editorial👎
Well, it was a positive encounter that is for sure. And I'm glad you saw the safety aspect as well.
Looks like a black bear to me
The hump on the back is a dead giveaway for grizzly
mindless transporter of stolen life forms
Gotta love his swagger!!!😁
He certainly has swagger LOL!
@@InsidersTravelGuideCanada He's the John Wayne of the bear world!!!😁
A fantastic video.
This time of year bears love it if you run up to them and give them big hug before they go off for their winter sleep. If you have children with you encourage them to hug the bear also. Bears with cubs particularly love to be hugged.
Most wild animals love to hug humans, especially boas and pythons.
LOL.
