Honestly, I loved Juno during her preview and didn’t feel the same now. Flats perfectly put it into words. She feels like she has to become a healbot to be helpful
Which is ironic because the patchnotes said they nerfed her specifically to reduce her healing output. Why they couldn't of just tweaked her healing number instead of messing with her rate of fire, I don't understand.
@@danielcooper3332 I cant believe the devs think "We dont want her to heal too much lets nerf her healing" and still not realize that means they have to put more focus on their teammates HEALING THEM because it requires more resources and effort

@@mitchellsalazar6276she absolutely needs some crit damage. Getting flanked by a Sombra or Tracer feels like a guaranteed death if you aren’t positioned well or aren’t near your second support. Getting some headshot damage would definitely help her fight off flankers better
Blizzard's balancing is genuinely some of the worst in gaming - they straight up REFUSE to ever do flat buffs or nerfs. It's always "well we nerfed this bit so we're giving the hero more power elsewhere" and that just doesn't work. All Juno needed was the HP nerf and a buff to the torpedo lock-on time, and she would have been PERFECT. Instead, they buff raw damage and healing (unnecessary) and take away your duelist capabilities (unnecessary) and that has left Juno in a worst state than before. Personally I'm tired of the "we're too afraid of backlash to straight nerf/buff a hero" mindset they have - some things are over tuned and can be nerfed without needing compensation buffs. Likewise, some things can be buffed without nerfs needing to "bring them back in line". If a hero needed a nerf or buff, it's for a reason - they are either too powerful or not powerful enough. That can be fixed by simply buffing/nerfing the hero, without any other changes. I don't think they'll EVER change this philosophy and it's so tiresome.
It was maddening reading the patch notes and seeing them buff characters like Sombra and Moira. No, Blizzard, you are allowed to just flat nerf a character. No Sombra didn't need more damage and speed, she'd have been fine with just the health Nerf especially since a lot of the mobile characters which Sombra helps to shut down got health reductions as well.
@@danielcooper3332 Sombra isn't even that strong dunno why everyone always thinks she is you'd complain about the next thing anyway a competent team would still shred her even faster now so she got a movement speed buff.

It's because it takes so fucking long to lock on. My teammate can be critical right in front of me and I know I can't shoot fast enough to keep them alive. Well her torpedos are so slow that by the time they lock on to the critical person, fire, travel to them THEN hit them, they're already dead. It feels incredibly bad. And the worst part is that her fire rate is so slow now that she can't sustain people while they're fighting.
@@魚-c3d No need to nerf the numbers. Even if they reduce the lock on time there's still plenty to keep the ability in check, including that she has to be out in the open if she's trying to tag enemies too, and they can avoid getting hit by ducking in and out of cover preventing a lock on, and then hiding behind cover if she gets a lock on to avoid getting hit. As for healing your allies, she's losing out on healing with her primary while using torpedos so even if they increase the speed of lock on there's still travel time and the heal has to be big enough to make it worth attempting otherwise you are just better off shooting which is FAR more reliable.
i see everyone playing her in my games like shes lucio i tried her for 3 games and had 20k+ heals on all of them compared to the second highest of 10k you just gotta play her like a mercy healbotting imo

As Support/Tank player, I love Sombra ever since her rework. I love having Sombra on my team, and I don't mind playing against Sombra on Tank or Support unless I'm running Ball or Doom ofc. You guys act like Sombra still has 6 second Ability Lockout on Hack, and a bs "press button to instantly escape" ability, when she hasn't been like that for about a year now. I give a pass to complain about Sombra to Ball and Doom players, for obvious reasons, but anyone else? I'll say it, it's cope. What made Sombra bs was the ludicrously long ability lockout, and more importantly the free escape translocator used to be, so even if the Sombra fucked up they would just live anyway. Now your ability Lockout is a grand total of 1.5 seconds long, and Translocator is actually a punishable ability, I don't really think you can play this card. I'm sorry, I really don't wanna turn this into smug "skill issue" post, but like... I don't like to assume the worst, but literally every time someone starts typing at the Sombra in the lobby, it's never some poor sap who's just getting focussed and bullied unless it's Ball or Doom. It's always the guy who splits from the team, it's always the guy who has no idea what cover is, it's always the guy who doesn't seem to understand that you can cancel hack by literally just ad strafing around a wall or pillar or shooting them, it's always the guy who's more interested in typing than helping. I really agree with Ruben, I’m a Sombra main through and through, but I think the burst potential on 225 hp targets is an AWFUL change to her. They leaned into the trait that feels oppressive in a 1v1, rather than improve her ability to do a bit more sustained damage in a longer team fight, which I’d argue was a much better place to look at if they really wanted to buff her.

idk, I've been having success with her! She puts out a good amount of heal and mobility but man that dps does lack. Ive started to only go for dmg shots if two things occur. 1. I hit a torpedo on them, 2. welcome to orbit. Other then that doing dmg with her primary feels like tickling them. her hyper mobility, and almost camara man perspective of fights are what make her fun for me.
I don’t know why people keep insisting she’s “hyper mobile.” Mercy is far more mobile. Lucio is far more mobile. Kiriko is more mobile. Moira may not be more mobile, but her escape is imo vastly better. Juno has good mobility on a long cooldown, a middling (imo) speed boost, and the double jump. It’s not bad if you are straight up trying to disengage from the fight because that long cooldown can cover a lot of distance, but if you are just trying to stay slippery and avoid flankers while still helping your team, Juno gets caught and killed much easier than those other options because those long cooldowns are killer, and her only option is to run since her damage is too low to realistically fight back.
happy i'm not the only one who feels that they fucked up Juno with these changes. If I get flanked by a Tracer or something, I straight up can only run and not defend myself much bc the dps is so low. I want to like her, but she is just a Healbot really.

8:19 Little tech: You can shoot the ring at the wall so it spawns early so you can get an earlier speedboost through the half of it that sticks out of the wall. Doubt it would've made a difference here, but there are definitely times where it can.

I totaly agree with the fact that juno was feeling real good on the play test but now i just dont feel like it without self substain ability getting rid of her is too easy as à sombra or any flanker . Sometime your moving so fast your second healer can hardly hit is shot with a the speed boost in the team comp (lucio queen juno) Great vid you confirmed my first mix feeling i had yesterday
With the sombra buff I really think Blizz is trying to self sabotage the game. No way someone thought lets nerf a bunch of squishy heros health and buff Sombra damage on the same patch. That'll be fun and exactly what players want
8:22, I love that opinion cause I feel the same. I had tons of fun with Juno and now feels like shooting is not even worth it. She was balanced and fun, now is more balanced to the new patch, but its not fun anymore👊😞
The fire rate may have decreased but you can now kill 250 hp character with torpedo and 2 bursts instead of 3. With many characters now 225 hp this has also become easier
Anyone else notice that Genji didn't get the 25 Hp nerf? I think thats so funny that he is already so bad that nerfing his Hp would just make him terrible and blizz knew that, and now he's become even more obsolete with sombra getting buffed so Sombra, Tracer or Echo, Tracer will just be the better Dive combo, RIP Genji Buff blade to 120 dmg a swing (bc 110 cant even 2 swing a 225 hp hero)
Yeah this patch isnt great ngl. Juno is cool but definitely struggles, dont get why they buffed the damage on her homing missiles, they feel awful to die to. And buffing sombra while nerfing survivability on other characters doesnt make sense at all, she deletes people. Overwatch has this habit of nerfing solething that punishes a character while also buffing the character that was "struggling" so then they can just run lobbies now. I get it, im low level and i should get better, but getting one shot by sombra doesnt make me want to learn how to play against her, i just want to play a different game. The game isnt fun to learn anymore, and i think thats my biggest problem with overwatch 2. Sorry for the rant im just over it.
Imo junior should have no damage falloff, i don’t know if it world make ger too strong, but it feels as if her weapon should be more of a long range burst “beam” weapon instead of regular hitscan
I'm a Sombra player, and i really don't get why they had to buff her this much this patch. Giving her more first strike damage AND reducing the HP of some of her primary targets was definitely a bit much
I've had people for some games saying I'm the worst Juno ever and losing their minds. And I was over here like "I think she is just weak". Glad to know other sane people think she needs some help and it wasn't me.
whoever thought buffing sombra was a good idea: JAIL. She's really over picked in lower elo and unranked, idk why they would consider buffing her is beyond me
Because she idk lost health and most of the roster can basically instant kill her you overvalue how good she really is compared to so many other dps characters.
If Sombra's overpicked, that means the devs have a lot of data on her, and I think the truly deserves the buff. She's not even that bad to deal with and I play mostly Tank and Support.
@@RegBinaryi dont like this cute little catch-all the devs have set up for themselves. "Oh we have the data so actually ur opinion has no value" like no Sombra is horrible to play against and buffing her dps is insane, ESPECIALLY virus dps. When she's good the game isnt fun, simple as that
I will say Juno should get a buff with rapid fire. It feels so slow and her healing is somehow feel like your not doing much which is more likely because of her slow rapid fire or her heals dont do much
Juno was already right down the middle support wise. Nerfing her made her bottom tier support wise. Like WHY?! Leaving her alone would make her fun and a good speed character but now….
As someone who just went through a game playing with a LifeWeaver on my team and I was Juno...holy shit it is the same character now. It fuckin' sucks.

Some of these comments defending sombra are wild. She gets to reposition due to perma stealth constantly with no risk on top of turning off your abilities. I was wondering what felt so wrong vs preview and release. 😢 I played Juno that whole weekend, great time and loved to play her. Tried her last night, switched to bap after first ult.
She had such a positive reception on the playtest and theyve conoletely destroyed her by nerfing her orimary. Im usually quite forigivng in blizzards balace and design ethis nut this was just moronic
It feels like a huge problem thats arising is that heros are losing their identity in overwatch. With Juno she just came out and it already feels like she doesn't have the same hero fantasy as she had pre release? I feel like she was perfect in the testing. I can hardly keep a tank alive now and 1v1 against any dive characters is almost a guaranteed loss. I switch back to Ana most matches just because I keep getting dove and at least on Ana I can win the 1v1 and sometimes even a 2v1. On Juno a 2v1 is out of the question right now.
Can confirm as a metal ranker that sombra was already the worst character in the game to play against (closely followed by dva). And now it's even worse. Was making me rage quit.
These nerfs to her primary fire doesn’t really bother me it’s just the fact that they nerfed that part of her kit but not the lock on heals and dps. I think Juno is still pretty solid I’ve won the majority of my games playing her but maybe add just a bit of her fire rate back or smth
Juno feels a lot worse now than she did before, the lower health pool combined with no self-healing and the lower fire rate on top of that really hurt her.
my biggest gripe with juno rn is that because she’s a new character, everyone in comp is playing her but very few actually even know what they’re doing and because her main healing is aim based but also a method of doing damage (like ana) it’s harder for arial, jubilant (all over the place), or even skinny characters like pharah, junk, winston, ashe, echo, etc. you see a lot of cases where players struggle to aim to heal certain teammates or all around ignore them because they’re so focused on doing damage to an enemy player. and i expect a problem like this to go away with time as players get better at the character or lose interest in playing her over more vital heroes, but still for right now i couldn’t even count a number with my hands the amount of times i have been match maked with a juno who even forgets they’re playing support. thank god for those rockets i guess
I honestly just play her as a different ana. Like when I play ana, I'm usually hard pocketing one of my friends who's playing rein or mauga. So with Juno, it's usually the same the same but instead of nade for extra healing, denying the other tank/team healing, I just use her speed ring for engagements or a slight for of " sustain ". Although honestly, I still find ana more fun. Also for clarification, before anyone says anything, I realize that I may not be playing these heroes in the most " optimal " way but it's what my friends and I have fun doing and it usually works.
I like how in testing I said this character needed some buffs and we somehow gave her stuff then took away stuff. Lol like wtf. She's back to how she was in testing..mid.
my only real complaint was just how many shots each click was, feel like for better consistency there shouldn't be like 12 shots per click and make lower closer towards baptiste's triple burst fire, but maybe like 6-8shot burst to keep her theme/feel or whatever. just seem like it'd be nicer and give steadier heals/dmg. but she still felt fine to me, you're not gonna be 1v1 very well without your torpedoes but she does good at helping finish off targets and follow ups. she felt best when helping flanker dps on dive or just dive teams overall for me so far. also, the fall off dmg is terrible, and sombra is busted i see her every/every other match now
please give me the fire rate back, it’s only one less burst per sec but i feel like i can’t protect myself in the back line whereas i could before, i know i just need to improve my accuracy but realistically who’s hitting all 12 bullets on a tracer or genji or lucio consistently every single time, also the 225 just makes me insanely squishy i dont see how a dive hero should be so easily susceptible to dive when her whole thing is her mobility but i explode before i even get to use it half the time
I didn't play Juno in the preview test, but I could just feel that she doesn't have any potential to be a "support" and is a straight up healer. With her not having headshots it makes it even worse, and much worse because she ALSO has damage drop off. I thought they'd at least remove drop off, when they already removed a significant damage multiplier. I was hyped to play her on release, but it's hard to have fun with this character.
as a more casual player I agree too, I'd rather have fire rate over more damage in the torpedos. they took away part of her skill expression and while I do still really like her, she's not as fun as she was in the beta. And granted I mostly play quickplay but still
Sombra just needs deleting from the game. Most players are playing deathmatch with no comms anyway, so this change just makes support life even worse. A character with infinite invisibility that can come out and burst you down in less than 2 seconds is just ridiculous
I played a couple rounds of Quick Play yesterday and encountered the highest volume of toxic players since I started playing again about a month ago, and now I remember why I don’t come back to Overwatch very often.
Nerfing both her health and fire rate at the same time was another short sighted idea from Blizzard. Also not enough characters had their health reduced.
Look. I respectfully disagree with all of y’all Juno is beyond fine. I have no doubt this character will define the meta as she is now no buffs required. That ring of hers is a crazy ability. And I myself have an 80% winrate atm hard locking juno. Shes still really strong, less of that power is in her primary fire, but she has so much power in other aspect of her kit. Just my thoughts.
I feel the same way. I'm really having a lot of fun with her now. I think Juno's healing is quite good, as well as her damage and her movement. Got some good rounds with lots of kills, balanced heal and damage and little to no deaths. I read comments here where some people would like to have buffs and I was afraid that Juno might be nerfed.
The problem isnt about overall power, its about where that power is stored. Hence why everyone is upset at "where" the changes are being made. not necessarily that changes were made. Taking power away from primary fire, makes plays be reliant on ability presses. press q to win so to speak. Rather then skill shotting or playing aggressive. if you play passive and you play a true "support" role, with poke damage and ranged pocket healing like life weaver, no doubt you can hit an 80% win rate. Ive had success with this style of play too, but, her kit is designed for movement, that movement doesn't matter if you cant do legitimate damage

Juno absolutely did not need the HP nerfs. Like at all. Her mobility doesn't change the fact that she has 0 self sustain.

It's been happening to me so much. That window when she stops shooting to fire the torpedoes really messes me up.
I feel like they need to nerf the numbers and reduce the amount of time it takes to lock on targets

I really agree with Ruben, I’m a Sombra main through and through, but I think the burst potential on 225 hp targets is an AWFUL change to her. They leaned into the trait that feels oppressive in a 1v1, rather than improve her ability to do a bit more sustained damage in a longer team fight, which I’d argue was a much better place to look at if they really wanted to buff her.
juno does not need to be in comp the first day, especially with a soft rank reset, need to go back to waiting 2 weeks before going into comp
Hell no, throw them in comp day 1. It’s more fun that way, plus everyone played her in the playtest already so why wait 2 weeks

personally i play her like shes mercy and at the end of a fight use the auto aim thing you always get 1 or 2 kills had great success with er

Also for clarification, before anyone says anything, I realize that I may not be playing these heroes in the most " optimal " way but it's what my friends and I have fun doing and it usually works.
the fire rate nerf was criminal
i’m never scared of a juno mainly cause her lower hp and her self sustain and damage output is terrible
Playing Juno against sombra is genuinely hell on earth
Sombra buff is abbbsuuuuurrrddddd
they nerfed her skill based aspect and buffed her auto aim lol, litterally the opposite of what people said
I’m a sombra main(friendly)but I didn’t need that buff I was ok with 250 health I just wanted this update for Dva and tracer nerf
And granted I mostly play quickplay but still
They need to revert both the fire rate nerf and the torpedoes buff.
Blizzard pov:
Juno needed nerf
Sombra gets buffs cuz why not
sonic forces music at 6:20?
Nerfing both her health and fire rate at the same time was another short sighted idea from Blizzard. Also not enough characters had their health reduced.
I think they should have Juno’s torpedoes heal herself too like Baps regen burst.
Look. I respectfully disagree with all of y’all
Juno is beyond fine.
She’s the worst healer in the game + you’re low elo

If they want to nerf her burst speed, at least buff the recovery time (gap between bursts)
