I watched this movie in theatre and i was a high school kid. I remember when the national anthem scene came, a 50+ aged looking guy and his wife stood up saluting, instead of people shouting "sit down" everyone stood up. Since it was a movie it's not a general instinct to stand up to National anthem inside a movie scene but here everyone just got inspired by his action. After the scene the guy just said " We both are ex-military officers and we just cannot sit down to a National Anthem, we apologise if it disturbed anyone". That moment I will never forget.
And yeah it's more of pride too

I noticed, no matter what race you watch this movie, we will definitely cry.. the director and the actors managed to bring out our tears.. the most beautiful family movie, that's what can be said for this movie. Ouh yeah.. SRK (my love) has very very good chemistry with Amitabh, Jaya, and Hritik, looking at them, I feel like they are a real family, even now I feel that way. This pairing of four, is fantastic.

If you want examples, you have plenty of people these days dating a hundred guys or girls claiming they're in love just to break up and so on. Love isn't haraam according to islam. You can love your mother, your father, your siblings, your creator. You don't have to be married to them to love them. But, being in love with your partner is to commit to them. If you love someone, commit to them. Get married to them, and spend your life with them, caring for them, loving them, and always protecting them. Not to get over them and throw them away and use a new one. Don't twist islamic terms or ANY religious terms.

Girl I haven't cried this hard for years. Especially that scene where Amitabh sir asks for their forgiveness. For the patriarch of a family to bow down infornt of his sons like that is a huge deal. Something most of us have never seen in our lifetimes. That's why it hits so hard. Children don't want their parents to say sorry, they just want them to understand 😢

The reunion with Rahul's mom hits harder knowing how SRK lost both parents at a young age, and how close he is to the Bachchans.
Devdas, Chalte Chalte, K3G, Kal ho Naa ho, Main hoon Naa, Swades, Veer-Zaara, Chak De India, Don, Om Shanti Om...these Bollywood movies enriched my Indian roots especially as young kid emigrating to USA and not even being able to speak a word of english back then...Shah Rukh Khan was rocking and rolling...then i went back saw DDLJ, KKHH, Dil tho Pagal Hai, Darr, Baazigar, Anjaam, Karan Arjun....long live King Khan

My expectations when I want to watch this, 'ahh I've cried many times watching K3G, this time I want to see these two cry' then.... seeing these two sobbing, plus the background music of this movie, err damn! I lost again to this movie and you two! 😒🥹😭 k3g is the fav movie of Malaysians, this movie is often played on our tv..cz most of us loved SRK!
The excerpts of the movie is definitely inspired or influenced by "Ramayan".
1. Son going for long leap away from home.
2. Brothers love
3. When both sons talk of Following traditions. (Like Ram and Bharat did)
4. When younger son say that he will get her Brother back (that's when Bharat went to take Ram back after their fathers demise)
If they watch Ramayan, they will understand a lot of nuances even it’s k3G or Mai hoon na
yeah it's even referenced in the scene before interval where hritik says I will bring brother and sister in law back and camera shifts to the idols of Ram and Sita

I might have watched this movie a hundred times, but the Mother-Son reunion scene at the mall makes me cry every single time. Such great acting by both. SRK excels every time in such scenes.
And yes, when I watched this movie in Theater in 2001, the background sound when Mr. Bachhan slaps Hrithik was deafening. Imagine hearing that in a Dolby Theater, it sounded like someone fired a bullet! Lol..
The performance of amitabh bacchan, shahrukh khan and Hrithik roshan were great.
Weird how such a simple story can be so perfect n classic moral storyline...n the casting was perfect with great acting....especially the dynamic between jaya bachan n srk.

I watched this movie as a kid and didn't have a visceral emotional reaction but I totally hear Vivian. The movie can be healing in a way as an adult because it validates so much of our experiences as SE/East/SA kids. It didn't make the youtube edit but one of my favourite scenes is when Rohan sees his brother for the first time in 10 years, his bag drops from his shoulder and he goes down to pick it up. In an instant he's Ladoo again. It's beautiful acting from Hritik Roshan.

Kristen overwhelmingly understood how meaningful it was for Anjali to pay her respects/seek a blessing from her father in law after she was denied the last time. Although she didn't get her blessing, it was enough for Anjali to pay her respects before she tried to walk away.

This movie hit harder for me now. since the time i left home, no longer lives with my parents until i became a parent myself. Now I appreciate my parent much much more and miss them a lot. The longing of being their little kid again is soooo big. I know they still love me like that, but at the same time, things are changed.
So many Fathers don't know how to show love to their son, and we just take it on the chin and move forward and it's passed on and I think it actually makes great Men. It took me a while to understand that some love is shown in their actions, and words are only words. So if your Father is like this and can't express it, just look at his actions and all he's done for his family and that should be enough. It took me a while to understand this, you can't be sitting and waiting for an "i love you" from a father, that comes from all the hard work he did just for you. Some Father's just don't know how to say it and that alone is very powerful.
Whenever I watch this movie I cry every time.
