All your videos are so good, and I find myself coming back to this one often when I think my drum beats are feeling a little stale. thanks for all the great vids! Keep 'em coming.
Awesome lessons, I’ve got a lot of fast punk beats down now but now I’ve no idea how to play interesting slow hardcore punk breakdowns. Do you have a video for this?
Love the video/channel. Do you find drummers love “cool” beats but the general public groove more to the “boring” beats? Like most radio friendly music
Definitely to a certain extent. That’s the challenge really, to keep the drums listenable while not being too much for the average listener. Great drummers can make something simple still have a lot of groove and substance. I’m still figuring it out haha
Yeah haha these heads are pretty old, so that’s a factor definitely but I also have duct tape on my rack tom, an old drum head cut up on both my floor tom and snare, and a bunch of tshirts in my bass drum.
ive been trying to learn double bass for ages but im very inconsistent with it, some days ill be able to do 16th notes at higher tempos while practicing with my band, but sometimes ill struggle to get up to speed, do you have any double bass lessons? if not i think that would be a great lesson :)) much love :awesome:
Been wanting to talk about this actually! Cause that happens to me too, especially when I don’t practice double bass for like a week or so, my stamina will be total crap and it takes me a couple days of intense practice to get that back up.
The most underrated drum lesson channel. Every lesson is dope and i always learn a bunch of cool punk stuff that's actually applicable

Great vid. Love the Istanbul cymbal peaking in the background. Recently traded all my K's for Agops.
Thank you! They make some amazing cymbals too!

Love the dead sounds of the drums. How? Does it require beating them till they are all dirty in the center?
