    Jeremiah 4:14
14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

The Bible says to walk AS Jesus walked & overcome AS he overcame.

Another proof good works don't automatically flow from a believer is the fact most who say they believe are just as wicked as a God hater their whole life after belief.

Amen! Excellent job, showing the truth; a voluntary, humble, return to God involving works of faith, is necessary for initial salvation, and it does not provide grounds to boast! Boasting is excluded by the law of faith (FAITHFULLNESS!) Romans 3:27. Abraham's faith was completed by works, and this is the faith Paul describes in Romans 4, which is WHY it was imputed to him for righteousness. (Romans 4:22) From the get-go, Paul pulls his definition of faith from Habakkuk 2:4, in Romans 1:17, which obviously means FAITHFULLNESS. The majority of the time, that Hebrew word was used, it meant faithfulness and fidelity, not a mere assent. How could these so, called bible teachers, in the reformed camp miss such basic, fundamental principles of Paul's argument, and in doing so, outright contradict Paul's writings!? You are spot on, brothers. Romans 2 is so clear. There truly is no way around it for these false teachers, although they go right around it by just skipping it and slamming their false interpretation of Romans 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 down people's throats, in which willful sin is excusable; a non-factor in being saved. I like 2 Timothy 2:25-26; "If God peradventure will grant them repentance, to the acknowledging of the truth, that they may RECOVER THEMSELVES out of the snare of the devil..."

Exactly right brother! It is so heartbreaking that so many professing Christians do not understand this basic gospel truth!

Even though the writings of the early Christians may not be the Bible, it's still good to show what was actual historical Christianity. The Nicolaitans/Protestants say Augustine, Luther & Calvin are historical Christianity, but they are obviously not.

Do you think we work by choice or by grace? Some people say it is the grace of God who causes us to work (repentance, obedience, holiness etc). Phil 2:13. But others say it is completely choice. What do you think?

I think it’s both! God works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Yet it goes on to say that you do all things without complaining and disputing…holding fast the word of life.
Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. 14 👉Do all things without complaining and disputing, 15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 👉so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.
2 Corinthians 6:1 We then, 👉as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. 2 For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation 👉I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
He helps in the day of salvation! He doesn’t do it all for you!

God does an inner nature change of pureness and godly love. Which renounces claims for self ownership of one's life and living independently of God. God looks for the man whose HEART is perfect TOWARD him.
I don't relate to people who are self opinionated and all they do is argue about doctrine.
You both are making a case for works. Could you please give some clear specifics as to what these works are??
