Planning to go on this trail this summer! Hopefully we can make it all the way! I really love the watch you use that can record the elevation gain and distance. Would you mind sharing what is it?
Wow and Wow for this trail ! You were good to do this incredible trail. I have a technical question. What kind of Garmin do you have ? Inctinct, fenix 6 ? You like it. I am making research to buy one. One more question. The cardiac pulsation , is it per minute only on in % like the Polar ? Do you have only this choice to see it per minute ? Thank you very much.
Thanks!! Its such a special trail right! I wore the Garmin Forerunner 245 and it did great 👌🏼 Do you mean the heartrate? Because thats in beats per minute and constantly live on screen. Or do you mean something else?
@@WanderwithXander Thank you for the response. I thought that the Forerunner was not appropriate for hiking but it seem that it is. Good to know. So to explain the heart rate I will make a "copy and paste" that I took on the web site of Polar (I have a Polar watch)it will be easier to understand. WHY SHOULD YOU CALCULATE YOUR MAXIMUM HEART RATE? Heart rate-based training enables you to run at the right intensity in order to reach your training goals. In other words, training smart is better than always training hard. Training intensity is divided into five heart rate zones - from very light to maximum intensity. The heart rate zones are calculated as percentages of your maximum heart rate. To determine your personal heart rate zones, you first need to know or estimate your maximum heart rate. For example, within heart rate zone 4, you’ll be training at 81-90% of your HR max and increasing your maximum performance capacity. Alternatively, at heart rate zone 3 (which is usually your average heart rate running), you’ll be training at the slightly reduced level of 71-80% of your HR but you will still be improving the efficiency of blood circulation. To determine your personal heart rate zones, you first need to know or estimate your maximum heart rate. So basically, you take: 220 - your age. If you are let say 30 years old, it is 220 - 30 = 190. So 190 pulsation per minute is your 100%. Then you calculate your heartbeat with the rule of 3 to have the result of your heartbeat in %. Exemple, if your heartbeat is 160 pulsation per minute. You say: 190 = 100% 160 = x. And x = 84,21% This method permit to follow intervalle. So if I am near 100%, I know that my heart beat is really high for my âge. I am used to visualizing my heart rate in %. And that why I was wondering if Garmin propose the lecture of the heartbeat also in % . Polar does it but and think that Apple and Garmin don't do it. Anyway, you advise the Forerunner for Hiking ? Because I want to change my watch. And to respond to your question, no, I could NEVER to this trail because I would DIE for sure on the trail especially on the ridge sections ! I don't understand how you and other people can to these sections. It is INCREDIBLE. I would DIE for sure. You have all my admiration !!! So tell me if you advise me this watch or not after having experience with it. Thank you again for your response 🙂
No worries! Happy to reply! Aah I see, yes I would totally recommend this watch. It shows the heart rate zones and exact heartrate, but not in percentage. Maybe this will take a little to get used to but its very easy to adjust I think. I used the watch on the tour du mont blanc, my ultra marathon and a lot more hikes and liked it a lot. Good battery, excellent GPS, nice statistics. Very happy with the performance!
Thank you again for your point of view on the Garmin. I will consider this watch because I am very tired of my Polar !!! Have a nice day :-) Lucky you that can hike in Europe.....I am from Canada, (Québec). Very lucky, I envy you !

Planning to do the trail as well? :)
What shoes was he wearing
Nike wildhorse trailrunners
Bedankt!
Laat vooral weten hoe het was, heel benieuwd!
Wohoooooo!! Amazing ✨ Looks like an incredible and challenging hike. Would love to do that one day 🏔🙏🏼
It is a really nice challenge!! You should, first hike on the agenda as soon as the season is right 😄 Good luck in the future!
Hey super expierence, you have just 2 choice: 1. Bag whithin more water as you can 2. No more bag but not too much water … I try it on 23 augustus , with bag about 3 liter water, i hope these enough ,
Good luck man!! It also really depends on the weather. We hiked in a hot and sunny day. I would say always bring as much water as possible since there is no refill available. Its a long day for most hikers!
@@WanderwithXander I’ve been there. From begin of forest, Interlaken West to top of Augstmattern and one more next top, super man.
So nice to hear!! Awesome! You liked it?
@@WanderwithXander yes, the goals of this year were Trolltunga rock of Norway and Hardergrat trail of Swisse, both of two done. I’m happy , my wife also happy , happined without any issues.
Perfect!! That's awesome!
Where did this hike start? Sorry I couldn't make it out
Sorry if it wasnt clear enough! It started for us from Interlaken Bahnhof. Maybe the link in the description helps? Think I linked a GPX file of the route! Good luck!
@@WanderwithXander have since been and done it, got to augstmatthorn. Was incredible
Nice to hear!! Glad you came back to tell me, happy you enjoyed it!
Salam. Nice view bro ..
Thanks man! It was pretty special
This is by far not the most dangereus trail. It's just a T4. There are many T5 and T6 trails in the area. Please............
Whu
this is by far not the hardest trail 😄
This is hardly the most dangerous trail in Switzerland 🤣
Haha have you done it? I think anything more dangerous wouldn't be regarded a hiking trail anymore
@@WanderwithXander I have done it several times. Including two times in winter with crampons. The dangerous hikes are in the high alps. The harder grat counts as the foothills to the alps. But its great nevertheless, beautiful video 👌
@knisterkultur476 aahh thats impressive! Nice! Thanks, hope it brought back beautiful memories to you :)
@@knisterkultur476I am planing to do it in late April. So, probably, there will be too much snow. Could you share your experiences? Is the trail open even in april or may?
