My painted tub has been peeling for a while. I had it painted 12 years ago by a so-called professional, then painted it myself about 3 years later. I’m ready to try again with this paint kit. Prep is key!

Oh my, I really hope you were able to resolve the issue of the bubble and that your tub didn’t bubble up anymore. It looks beautiful for sure. I remember I painted the interior of an old claw foot tub many years ago with a tub paint. I remember the smell was strong. However, it turned out great & I never had an issue with it bubbling. Good thing cause I had three kiddos who used it daily, and trust me if it had little bubbles that formed those little kids would have pushed them and then peeled them. 😂 so hope yours is fixed and you are able to enjoy a nice warm soak. As I’ve been redoing my kitchen I heard you could wrap your brushes and rollers and put them in the fridge to keep them moist. I tried it and it does work! Mine were in there for three days and was still like I had just put them in there. I’m so excited to see your finished bathroom, and I know you are definitely excited. God bless you dear 💕

The bathtub looks fantastic, and I hope customer service will be able to help with the spot that appeared, to resolve that. The difference is remarkable and I like the fixtures you chose. The power of prayer! So happy to hear the positive update on Jim's condition! The tub looks great - this is a project I would like to do. My tub and shower surround are "harvest gold". I would love to paint it white but I am afraid because my water has iron in it and Im scared of discolorization from the iron😒. I thank God daily that I found your channel. Elysia English (channel by the same name) recently had trouble with tub-and-tile paint running. She was advised to use marine paint. She did, and her tub now looks gorgeous, like a brand-new tub. It also has a sheen to it that the tub-and-tile paint did not give it. So, if you have more peeling, you might want to give your tub a thorough sanding and then apply marine paint.

Yes is going to peel off when it start to get wet. I painted my tub too,I had to retouch it every 3 months!!

Knowing they are believers is a comfort to you, I'm sure. When we know the Lord personally and trust in Him we are able to face tragedy with the assurance that our Savior is walking through the storm with us. Not just walking with us, but carrying us. I’ve often thought of doing this, but I was concerned this would happen. I have a caste iron tub so have many options. My facilities are all blue. Yucky, but I’m not redoing them. Your tub does look nice. I hope it stays that way.

Nancy, I had to write to you ti ask you for healing prayers for John James. He has been fighting a lung infection for several days and today he had to be admitted to the hospital. He has bee put on iv antibiotics and oxygen He is four and he is autistic. He is good about taking his breathing treatments but he doesn't want the mask all the time.But if he takes it off his oxygen levels plummet. Please lift him and his parents

Most likely it will continue to peel with use. I painted mine but used a different paint and it’s peeled like crazy.
Perhaps. We'll see. Dwil customer service was very helpful, and I'll be following their instructions.
I just painted my tub with this paint. I was looking here to see how many coats people usually use. I have enough paint for 3 on the tub (I did the tile too) but wasn’t sure if it would be too thick.
How did you resolve the peeled spot?
I lightly sanded the spot with the sandpaper that came with the kit, just to make sure it was smooth around the edges and blended in with the existing paint. Then I touched up the spot with leftover Dwil paint. I gave it a light coat, let it dry, and then gave it another light coat to make sure it was covered. I let it dry the full 7 days before using the tub. I can't even see where the peeled spot was, and it's holding up fine. I haven't had any other problems with the tub. Only that one.

Did you sand first? Clean? Or just start pa8nting?
Cleaned well with Krud Kutter and rinsed very well.Then sanded and rinsed well and wiped it down to make sure there was no residue. Then painted.
That was a lot of work, so sorry you are having a problem.
