As a South African living in the United Kingdom I'm very proud of what I see, women standing up and show the world that they are as capable of being instrumentalists and take the jazz world by storm. This is beautiful and I have enjoyed the whole show. Jazz is a world community music that is open to all interpretations. The likes of Mirriam Makeba, Hugh masekela, Caiphus Semenya, Letta Mbuli, Dudu Phukwana, Jona Gwangwa, Kippie Moeketsi, Castle Lager Big Band, and many other South African musicians have given the world our take on this music called Jazz. We can Swing or Bop in our own unique way!!! I wish projects like this go on forever. If music is the food for life, please give us more!!! Brilliant!!!
I just remembered that it's a black American woman who was the first maestro Rock guitarist that later influenced world iconic man guitarists like Jimmy Hendricks. What I like about my country South Africa we are very adaptable as musicians, we don't just sick to our own traditional culture. Jazz is the art of that is open to many interpretations and expressions...the real unifying community music!!!
