- this was the trip we had been dreaming of since 2019. we had to rebook twice due to covid-19, and we were so so excited. there were good times and bad, but the holiday came to be an exhausting endurance for me when one of my biggest fears came true 😰

Oh my goodness I would not know what to do if my fur baby ran away when I was across the world!! How awful I am so glad he got found! Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you guys could make this trip happen after Covid messed up the original plans. Yeah prices are up around the world. Hopefully the economies can recover. I'm glad your dog was found but too bad it kind of spoiled your trip. I'm glad you could enjoy most of it.

Can understand your headspace if you're on the otherside of the world and you get the call saying something has happened to your animals. My reaction wouldve been to cut the trip short and fly home then and there
Well, from all I saw? You had a stellar holiday! You need to FORCE yourself to push away anxiety. While it is a very scary thing to have your family member run away from home? It's a good time to put all of your faith & trust, into a power greater than yourself. But YOU must make YOU, do it. And then you need to MAKE yourself TRUST that this power is the one in control, and you will be ok, no matter what the outcome may be. Death happens to us all. Yet, not one single thing can be change, by allowing panic, anxiety, & fear, to rule your day.
It is not an easy thing to do. But it becomes easier, as you learn how to do the above. I know. I've suffered from almost every addiction there is, OCD/ADD, tics, Tourette's-like symptoms, and all the rest.
And I beat, all of them. They said it couldn't be done. Well? "They", were wrong. I'm living proof, now @ 62. You can do it. But you must WANT to do it, and you have to PUSH THROUGH, the "uncomfortable". It's a bitch, but the victory makes it well worth it.
And best of all? It will help you think far more clearly, and rationally during stressful times- for myself anyway? Maybe THE sweetest victory, of all. Hope I'm not being to presumptuous, just thought it might help you in the long run- so that next time it might be more a "bump in the road", than the nightmare I know it CAN be. I love dogs, lol- so I do know that aspect, as well.

I know women usually earn those mardi gras beads at the parades by flashing their breast. Your mom has an awful lot of beads and a huge smile on her face. Glad you all had a great time until the horrible news and then made the best of it.
