    I will start my paramotor training in the spring.As a fixed wing pilot my objective has been to understand the similarities and differences between a solid wing and a soft wing.But here is one place that being a fixed wing pilot has been a valuable asset.I know what a stall is and more importantly i know what an uncoordinated is and how quickly it can kill you.When i enter a stall in a fixed wing airplane correctly it is very benign.If i enter an uncoordinated stall i am causing one wing to stop flying and i can flip that aircraft upside down and nose down in an instant.Frankly i am not certain that a paramotor instructor who has never flown other aircraft can fully understand let alone teach this.I may find i am wrong when i begin my training.But one thing i am certain of. These guys that are spinning the wing are stalling one tip while the other continues to fly and its not just happening because of pulling to much brake.Get to slow in a tight turn and the inside tip can stall because it is flying slower than the outside tip.Add the wrong imput and waalaa you are falling out of the sky.If you happened to be low,the ground always wins

    Good info. The technical term for staying in a body vertical position is "A low polar moment of inertia." I am not sure that when you are in "Parachute" mode the glider is drag only. There maybe some lift too. Pro tip, if you can, practice your first stalls on a low aspect ratio A rated glider then move on to intermediate and finally comp wing. Or never fly a comp wing and stick with the A glider. You might get to be a really good pilot on that A glider and still do some big XC because you will out live the Hero pilots on their comp wings.

    Interesting video, but I was hoping you would talk about how to do the first stall more into detail. Like you don't want to stay into the shit zone breaks down too long but what's next? Do you try to backslide and get out of the stall slowly? Also if you are backsliding and let it shoot forward, when is the right time to break (catch it) to control the exit ?
    Thank you in advance from Switzerland ;)

    Ari, what is meant by the “ box”. You used the term in your video. I’ve heard it before from other pilots but no one knows for sure. Is it the LZ? Enjoyed the content and subscribed to your channel. Good work!

      An area that you wouldn't mind throwing your reserve in. Usually over water in an SIV, accounting for which way the wind will blow you once you're falling. You'll want to make sure you do any risky moves or acro within the box.

    What is a cravat? Or however you spell it. Great video . Thx

    • @aurel802mx
      @aurel802mx 2 года назад

      A cravate is when a line wraps over your paraglider which deflates that part of the glider and it creates a lot of drag. The problem with this is that the line prevents the glider from reinflating. I think there are two options to solve it, for a small one on the wing tip, try collapsing that wing tip and for a bigger one I heard stalling can solve it but I'm not sure how.

    Hello Ari, what glider should I get for stalls ? Don want o damage my iota

    • @AriintheAir
      @AriintheAir  3 года назад +1

      The iota will work great! Stalling the glider that you fly is the entire point! Your glider is a tool, not a jewel! We trade gear for experience, so keep putting coins into the slot machine to keep playing the game

    • @germantobon5498
      @germantobon5498 3 года назад

      @@AriintheAir that’s a great way to put it, it’s just I’ve been advised to get a low B to get started on acro, I just did a 15 day siv on a new iota 2 and they told me it’s already out of trim.
