As promised, here it is; The Slasher 4.0! I have to say, I am SO proud of this one. It's been forever since I made anything lineless, much less this detailed!! I'm not too happy with the background but let's be honest, when am I ever? I hope you guys like it as much as I do!~

Okay, so I noticed something: The slasher has its cutie mark removed, while the colt themselves has no cutie mark at all.
Maybe... the Slasher is a horror tale ponies tell to fillies to scare ( or scar ) them, about the eyeless pony-eating monster, who comes to eat you if you’re still a blank flank as a grown-up.
Additional, if Rainbow Factory and Cupcakes exist, and all the ponies are slightly messed in the head: This creature was created by Luna in the ‘ olden days ‘ to kill any pony not productive to keep the economy stable if they’re still a blank flank when an adult. Because what use is a grown up blank flank? Whenever killing wasn’t acceptable anymore, Luna THOUGHT she banished it.. but like all good myths, it isn’t gone. Just forgotten, to be lightly joked about to scare fillies at night. Until it’s too late.

Honestly the slasher would be a good representation/personification of depression. The slashers cutie mark is removed, symbolizing how you lose interest in everything that brings you joy. The slashers eyes are black, symbolizing how you only seem to see the darkness in any/all situations. The slashers teeth are pointed and threatening, symbolizing the pain filled words/thoughts that seem to be constantly impaling you. The slasher is tall and emaciated, symbolizing the yearning for happiness.

Silverstream tossed and turned restlessly in his bed. He couldn’t sleep after what his parents told him about the myth of the Slasher. The terrifying pony eating monster designed by the infamous Nightmare Moon. But Luna had banished him.......right?
...
He stared at the ceiling as scenes of ponies being eaten flashed through his mind. He pulled the covers over his head thinking it would help hide him from the Slasher if he were to ever come. He finally decided that he would go cuddle up with his parents and everything would be okay.
...
He tiptoed out of this bed trying his best not to be too loud and wake up his parents. He emitted a dim glow from his horn, just enough to see, as he left his room and crept down the hall. He turned into his parents room to see something from his nightmares standing in front of him.
...
There stood the slasher, old and rotting as it ripped Silverstreams father up from his bed, tearing him apart, blood spattering on the walls. Screams from his mother followed. The slasher flung his father to the ground, body parts going every which way. He slasher bit straight down on his mother’s face, silencing her eternally. She was also ripped apart but then suddenly it stopped. It slowly craned it’s neck around to face silverstream, whose tears were wetting his face. The slasher jumped after him, as he began to run. He ran upstairs and his behind a small table, just enough to barely conceal him. The Slasher quickly followed, as he began to look around. That’s when Silverstream noticed the open window. He knew if he were to jump out of it, he would die, but it would be better than getting eaten. So with fear drowning him he waited for the Slasher to turn its back. And as soon as it did, he leapt out the window.

The dropping feeling in his stomach made everything feel even worse as the ground became closer by each millisecond. But just before the end, something scooped him up, carrying him back into the sky, cradling him. He looked up to see his heroes face, and it was none other than Luna’s, tears glistening on her navy blue skin. The slasher jumped out at them but Luna stood and it suddenly turned to dust. It was gone. Luna carries him back to his bed as he thought about everything that had just happened.

Silverstream jolted awake, the morning light grazing through his window. He ran downstairs to see his parents, safe and sound. He hugged them, and cuddled, crying with joy. Because of Luna saving him, he knew that the Slasher, was long, long gone.
Great story! Really gave me the chills,(My opinion) I just don't like how it had a happy ending though

@Kayotime Meh. Considering the "teen" ponies size and shape when the CMC turned adult and that shape looking like him, that theory crumbles because the CMC got their cutie marks before or during early adolesents.
@Kayotime His magic is suprisingly pink! Maybe it represents his geeky and emotional demeanor?
My theory about Mort after reading the description from Damaged is that he was born a normal pony, but never got his cutie mark, and was tortured for it, and thr gaping hole was from a torturer, who was the cause of him leaving to his cave. Over the years, isolation and lack of sunlight caused him to grow white as a bone and lose his fur, as well as his mane and tail. Another pony suffered from a similar fate and they found each other and had a son. Hunters killed her when they found her, and so Mort took his son further away into a cave deeper into the ground, until the hunters found them again, and killed his son out of fear from what they saw, not knowing that they had once been regular ponies.
Cont. Into this Art: Fillies are told the story of the slasher, to scare them, and taunt them. Some braver ones taunt a few, more scared ponies, into finding the slasher. They have to go alone, and most pretend to find and face him. Those who actually do don't return.
It's not that he kills them. The ones who find him and face him are the ones who will never have a mark, and that's why they find him. Like the pony he had his child with, they are drawn to each other, and he knows them when they show. They're the only ones who find him. Instead of killing them, he takes them in and, to protect them from his own torment, doesn't permit them to leave, ever. He doesn't know that the world he grew up in has changed, and doesn't believe when the ponies tell him it's different. The ponies are never seen again, but they don't suffer the same fate, and live together, in a better place than how Mort grew up.
That's my story idea XD

Okay fan story time:
The slasher was a twisted creation by an unknown pony. All the ponies believed it was a little pony tale, little did they know, the slasher is still lurking in the everfree forest. One day a blank flank adult pony wanted to seek this "slasher" to earn her cutie mark in hunting legends. She succesfully found the slasher, but.........life is cruel, isn't it? (That's all I got ;-;)

Your art never fails to impress me, I love watching redraws, because it shows you, and even other artists, that improvement is something that does happen. It is something that comes with lots of practice, but in the end, it is worth all the hard work. The blood, sweat, and tears that goes into each and every art piece, is worth the time, because eventually, it will become so much better. Keep up the amazing work !

Edit: Oh yeah you did I great job! I don't watch speed paints but this one is great! I've never seen anyone try it with no line art! I can draw pretty well but now that I see these speed paints I'm kinda jealous. Also now I don't draw well since I lost motivation to keep drawing :(

I don’t usually leave comments on art videos but I have to say that this is beyond amazing. The anatomy is on fleek. The fury on the Slasher’s face, the utter fear on the pony’s face, you can see and sense their emotions. The shading is just beautiful and brings the whole thing together. I love this and all of your masterpieces, and would love to see more, especially because I know a lot of work goes into each piece.

I love the fact that the first 2 versions had cutie marks on the flank, and the more recent 2 did not. I think it makes more of a story without the mark and it's fantastic! I love the art and shading as well! Great job!!!

I just got a headcanon for this guy.
The Slasher used to be a normal blank flank, until a mad scientist used him as a test subject for a chemical that alters the subjects body and behaviours. As soon as the transformation was complete, Slasher broke out of the science lab that was hidden deep in the forest, afraid and hurt, he began a wild frenzy of killings. Slasher tried to control his new instincts and revert back into pony society, but was outed and shamed for his appearance. Princess Luna saw what had happened and took Slasher to a cave tucked away in the Everfree Forest, for she knew what it was like to be looked over and feared. The Slasher turned into a myth that ponies used to frighten the youngsters out of going into the forest at night. But to any who might venture out into the woods, they would never return. Slasher will only kill blank flanks though, because he does not want others to go through the same things he did. He still roams Everfree to this day, wandering in search of blank flanks to "save"...

My theory:
So "the trasher'' was a regular pony, minding his/her business. They wonder into the everfree forest, where a bunch of ancient looking, native like ponies capture him/her. They torture them into madness by cutting off their cutie mark. Then throw them out for the timber wolves. The timber wolves don't eat them, but instead take them as one of there own. The timber wolves teach this pony how to hunt. So after years of being with wolves, the pony leaves the wolf pack in search of the pony that tortured them. After a week of looking with no luck the pony tries to return to the pack but gets lost. In the forest, he dies alone, and cold. Then a enchantress revived them only to see that she had not revived a pony, but a demon, with revenge. So now every nightmare night the thrasher goes seeking for the ponys that tortured it. And if you come across its path, it will take you, and if you have a cutie mark, it will cut if off just like theirs was. If you don't have a cutie mark, it will take you and kill you.

I’m pretty late to comment here, I just wanted to say that I absolutely adore your speedpaints! I’m not exactly in the mlp fandom but all of you guys are so talented, you have so much talent I actually have no idea what to say besides this though. You inspire me to continue trying to improve my art and I can not get over how well you draw gore!

This follows the "is not and maybe never was fear" which is the whole "it is mutated with Small bits that may have been (certain thing) and so it is no longest and possibly never was (certain thing)" horror film trope which is really easy to over use so I think you did GREAT not making it seem so!

My theory:
The slasher, like many others before me have stated, was once a regular pony. He was just a foal, when he was faced with the question," Who do you want to be when you grow up?", by his teacher but he couldn't find the right answer and was stumbling on his own words. For many weeks thereafter, he tried many things, time and time again. No matter what he did, he couldn't seem to find something that suited him. Many years later, he was now a full grown stallion and no matter where in Equestria he ventured, every-pony around him mocked and insulted him because of his status of a blank flank.
Out of rage, depression, and confusion, he ran many, many miles away from Equestria and the laughter of every-pony who mocked him and into a secretive, dark, musty, and very old cave. As expected, the longer he stayed in the cave, due to lack of sunlight, he became pale and hairless. The only things he found in the cave were many bugs and small mammals, so his teeth changed from molars to canines in order to adapt to his new diet. In the silence and stillness around him, he was left with his thoughts and emotions. He found this comforting to some extent but the longer he was left alone, the more insane he became. His only source of water was a lake deep within the cavern. He was so insane at that point, he finally broke upon seeing his reflection in the lakes clear waters, he screamed in terror. He ripped a stalagmite from the cavern floor and stabbed it into his flanks, no longer being able to deal with the pain of not have a cutie mark like every other pony. Soon after realizing what he had done to himself, no longer recognizing the pony he used to be, both mentally and physically, he tore out his eyes with the same stalagmite because he would rather not see himself any longer. Some say, that he continues to live in the depths of that very same cave, circling the lake, unable to die because of the stories of him that are told every Nightmare night, keeping him immortal.
I apologize for it being long. I know it's a lot of writing, but I hope you enjoyed reading my interpretation of the story.
