Today we have two widely popular daily-driver vehicles up against one another in the 1/4 mile.
A Honda Civic Vs. Mazda 3 Sedan.
The Civic in this video is a 2012, but they made this year up until 2015 when they replaced it with the 10th Generation, made from 2016-2021. The newer Civic's came with completely different engines, so we will also try to get one of the newer platforms out on the track as well.
The 2012 in this video has a 1.8L 4 cylinder engine making 140Hp and 128Tq, which is quite a bit less than the Mazda's 2.0L which makes 155Hp and 150Tq.
The one advantage that the Honda has is the fact that it's quite a bit lighter than the Mazda 3 so that can make a difference for sure.
Either way, this was another fun race and we're excited to continue to get out there and keep filming!
After filming this race, it would be fun to get vehicles like a Mazda Cx 3 Vs. a Honda HRV as well - maybe one day.

I used to have a 2016 Mazda3 with the 2.5, it would've been interesting to see that since it is much faster that the 2.0 (around 30 more hp and 30 more tq)
In this case, the most “even” match we could line up against the Civic was the 2.0.
And even that easily took down the Honda.
So the 2.5 would be fun to see but not against a 1.8 Civic. That would be better suited to go against maybe a K20 or K24 Civic Si. That would be interesting :)
Why did you get rid of it ??
Great video. I really want to see you do a 2013-2017 V6 Accord vs 2018-2022 2.0T Accord. Would be such a good race.
Yeah that would be a fantastic race. We haven’t found either of those 2 cars yet unfortunately but we’re still looking. If we ever find them, we’ll definitely make the race happen!
There are many videos on this already! The new Honda 2.0T always wins
@@bebeslife4519 Send me links because I haven't found any good ones. Yes 2.0T is faster off the line, but the V6 should win in a roll race at higher speed.
@@JustinDaniels don’t worry Justin, we’ll still run the race if we get the cars :) a lot of races are just made with cell phones and a quick “3,2,1 go” on the highway. As you know, we like making sure we run the full quarter mile from a stand and roll to see how the cars perform :)
Also, regardless of what videos are out there of these two cars, we still want to see and film the race first hand!

That could be an interesting one for sure! We haven’t found a CRV yet but will definitely race one if we get our hands on it :)
