1st, the irs is not a governmental agency. 2nd, the only entity has a right to see his taxes are the irs. 3rd. a 2 year investigation would have shown any issues .

What difference would tax returns make? They just want to be nosey. If the returns pass the auditors every year, let it go.

I think there’s a court decision that says Congress can’t request tax returns just to look at them. Plus, the same law that gives congress this right also gives the president the right to look tax returns. He can invade their privacy just like they invade his.

Sailorjerry46 - no, I am a private citizen. I don’t need to show you my tax returns. I need to show them to the secretary of the treasury if he asks. Trump is not a private citizen and there are good reasons why he should show congress his tax returns including susceptibility to blackmail. If he’s willing to go to court over this, there must be something criminal in them.
