PEUGEOT 5008 SUV gets a facelift: the large SUV has a self-confident appearance.
The new frameless grille of the SUV PEUGEOT 5008 symbolizes the modern style with a flowing design at the same time. Horizontal trim strips under the headlights are the connecting elements. As with all new PEUGEOT models, the model designation is on the bonnet. In the GT and GT Pack equipment levels , the radiator grille has a sporty design with chrome strips that become larger on the outside. For an even sportier appearance, glossy black air inlets have been integrated into the new bumper.
The headlights of the SUV PEUGEOT 5008 have also been redesigned. They already contain Eco-LED technology from the entry level and are extended by longitudinal daytime running lights with chrome tips. For an even more technically modern design, the light signature in the GT and GT Pack levels has been enlarged and equipped with full-LED headlights and a static cornering light function. The cornering light function improves visibility at speeds of up to 90 km / h.
Another new feature is the “Foggy Mode” function, which replaces the fog lights. It is integrated in the full LED headlights and adjusts the intensity of the low beam headlights when the rear fog lights are activated.
At the rear, the new, improved headlights in claw shape with 3D effect have full LED technology (including the reversing light). The indicators are sequential. The headlights are set in clear, smoke-colored glass, which optically lengthen the black panel between the rear lights. This makes the rear of the new PEUGEOT 5008 SUV look wider.
The new “San Francisco” 19-inch alloy wheels are reserved exclusively for the highest equipment level GT Pack . The "GT" lettering has been upgraded on the fenders and on the trunk lid.
With the facelift, the PEUGEOT 5008 SUV will receive all of the new driver assistance systems from the Löwen brand, including (some as standard in higher levels or optional):
The Night Vision night vision system is unique in the SUV segment. An infrared camera detects living beings at night or with limited visibility that are in the area in front of the vehicle at a distance of 200 to 250 meters. For example, the driver can see the area in front of the vehicle in the display of the instrument cluster, even in fog.
The ACC automatic cruise control with STOP & GO function including lane positioning assistant (in conjunction with the eight-speed automatic transmission EAT8) automatically adjusts the distance programmed by the driver to the vehicle in front - up to a complete standstill. If the vehicle in front starts again within three seconds, the journey is automatically resumed. The system allows the driver to choose the position on the lane and prompts them to keep their hands on the steering wheel.
The latest generation of Active Safety Brake Plus detects pedestrians and cyclists during the day and at night from 5 km / h to 140 km / h (depending on the version) with a collision risk warning.
The extended traffic sign recognition shows traffic and speed signs in the instrument cluster (recognition of stop sign, one-way street sign and beginning and end of no overtaking).
In addition to the innovations, the PEUGEOT 5008 SUV continues to offer a large number of modern driver assistance systems (some of which are standard in higher levels or optional):
Reversing camera with 180 ° view of the surroundings (rear)
Front and rear view camera with 360 ° view of the surroundings (front camera in the grille)
Park Assist with automatic steering for parallel and perpendicular parking spaces
Active lane departure warning with steering intervention : from 65 km / h to 180 km / h the system reacts with progressive counter-steering
The drowsiness warning system reports when the driver becomes less alert and recommends a break
High beam assistant
Active blind spot assistant (available from 12 km / h) with steering intervention through cooperation with the lane departure warning system
Grip control package , optimized traction control with 4 grip modes (standard, sand, mud, snow) with specific M + S tires (with snowflake symbol)
Hill descent aid
Tailgate sensor-controlled
Panoramic tilting / sliding roof
Massage function for driver and passenger seat
Electric parking brake

The best looking SUV around…
Over the last few years Peugeot have been making some beautifully designed cars, I can’t think of an ugly model in their range - even the Ritter looks smart.
I really like the light signature at the rear, remaining lit up even in the day is a great safety feature. I see so many morons driving around in poor light, dusk and even at night in the city ‘to look cool’ with their DRLs
On the front on but the back is in the dark - bloody dangerous. The interior is very interesting and futuristic - my only concern is the icockpit might not fit me as did the previous 3008 I tested a few years ago. If it had of done, I would have bought it, no questions.

Does the underfloor storage still exist in the second row for the 3008? I was told they had removed it as parents were unable to install car seats and therefore overlooking these cars.

I bought this car a week and a half ago and I love it. The only thing I don't like is that you can't hide the content of the luggage in 5 seat mode. It's a complete nonsense. I also have a 5008 from 2009 and this doesn't happen. Other than this, I love my new 5008 GT 2021.

Nice one, thank you, really nice and thorough review! FYI, you can store the rear plateau behind the third row seats ;) once you take it off, there is space for it and only after you have it in place, you can unfold the third row seats. On the other side, one thing I would be curious to know, as I did not find it anywhere, if it has hill hold assist button somewhere, as o my car I use it on red lights so I don't have to hold the foot brake all the time...

@Michael, yes it does have hill hold assist, not as button, but works automatically . For a red light or if you have to take a brake, there is red knopf for parking brake.
Dear sir, love this car ❤ but where are the aerators for ventilation on six and seven seats ? I have 4 children and I search a car with this. Only VW Sharan or Seat Alhambra have the aerators I think 😢

The bonnet is very round makes it fat! the sides make it slimmer! the lights sometimes less is more, you know? :) I plus in the front is the grill they nailed it in the design and i bet that effect will migrate to the next products. The plastic on the back should have been brushed steel, and it was also beautiful to protect the body when loading and unloading.

Nice review but you should mention that GT usually doesn’t come with panoramic glass sliding roof this is extra option also you mentioned that front passenger seat comes with massage system this doesn’t exist even as an extra option but anyway overall great review thanks

I have the 3008 from 2017, the camera on that is horrible and low quality, this camera on the new 5008 looks the exact same. Did they seriously not upgrade the camera?
Sadly the camera it is still the same. On the new 308 they come with different cameras and many other new systems 👍

@bads boys, at least on my car , 5008 GT line , the night vision inside or outside is amazing. I never had so much fun driving a car as this one. Headlights turn on and off automatically . Even when you make a turn , the lights shine on the given direction.
The lighting is very poor. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy watching
