Okay
We’re do I get the brush
Thanks for helping me
Okay 👌😂💀
We're do i get the brush
Me: Just letting the paint dry and peeling it of after I’m done 💀
I think that would work with acrylic but not really well with water colours...
Same
Same
@@_ur.the.euphoria_ u can wipe off dried water color with a wet paper towel or a sanitized wipey tho if i wanna clean wet paint it’s worse letting it dry for both paints is the better option
@@peanut.buhtur ik. And i clean water colours before it dries....i just said about acrylic paints cause it feels good to peel it off
Quick note that the water brush does not allow you to control the amount of water you apply to your painting. The water amount is crucial for most watercolor artists, so just a heads up! But if you don’t mind, or just want to play around with watercolors, the water brush is a good tip nonetheless.
Its quite hard to clean also
Thank god I'm not the only one bothered by this. A water brush is only practical if you're painting outside. Otherwise you're setting yourself up for failure with it - especially when you use Gouache.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone mention this?? I thought I was just an idiot since I saw so much hype around it.
But like, tou have to constantly change the water if you don't want the colours to mix since the water gets coloured, and, as you said, you have zero control over the flow aside from adding even more water by squeezing the water container.
I've seen people say "just buy more brushes for more colours" but at that point, isn't a normal brush more convenient to use anyways??
As someone with a waterpen, you can control the water by squishing the sides of the pen, the more you push the more water comes out
This is definitely not a tip for an experienced watercolour artist LMAO
For anyone who just want to know how to draw two perfect eyes, just draw them at the same time. Thats how they usually get pretty similar, and thats how most artists do it. Also, if you use acrylic paint, its really easy to peel it off after a while of using them, for example, when the whole pallet is covered with acrylic paint. 👍
Why is there like no replies after 3 months 🤨
@@yamanzee 🤯🤯🤯💗💗
Am I the only one who loves dirty paint pallets… it’s just something abt them 😻
Definitely not the only one, it's like slowly building up a separate art piece that shows what you've done over time, so satisfying. who the hell washes their palette every time??
i don't understand people who wash it... i usually just reuse the paint i mixed up by adding water to it so... saves time
@@KayokoSudousame
I peel some off but don't mind the excess that just won't come off.
@@KayokoSudou Yeah same I just keep adding onto it lol.

For those who aren't artists, the last technique is called Graphite Transferring. Its actually pretty common, I don't know why it's listed as a "lazy hack" when artists do it all the time.
the problem with doing it with eyes tho r that the eye doesnt get flipped. Eyes arent symmetrical.
was thinking the same thing lol
I learnt that in year 7 art
I'm a dumb kid and didn't knoe this lol
Coz some artists don't use this hack or know about it, maybe u knew it, i didn't
You're a freaking life saver for that last one!
Not only for 'Lazy' artists, my hands get tired pretty quickly (Chronic pains 😩) so getting tips that let me finish pieces faster between breaks and before I hit the limit is damn great!
A lot of these hacks that are intended for 'lazy days' are actually really helpful for disabled people. There was a long time where I couldn't really do much art because I just physically wasn't able to do the set-up and clean-up. Tips like these are so helpful 👌
Nice
I would recommend using a glass picture frame. As a fellow disabled person ive found its alot less wastefull, i use an A3 frame but anything will do. Since the surface is smooth and paint wont stick to it since it hasnt been sanded, let the paint dry then use a spray bottle to spritz the palette. The paint will peel up like you're using paint stripper. If you cant wait for the paint to dry, spread it thinly over the palette with a brush or somthing and use a hair dryer
Exactly! I’m newly disabled. I already lost my job and everything else that defined me; losing my art was devastating. I still struggle with the clean up part. That press and seal plastic wrap tip just made oil painting accessible again.
Except she didn't intend these hacks for disabled people, she intended them for lazy people who have absolutely zero problem getting up and walking to the sink to wash off a pallet. Now you're inflating her ego by making her think she's doing something good for the planet
A glass or ceramic palette makes for easy clean-up with no plastic waste
if you’re using acrylic paint then I recommend just not cleaning it for long periods of time - the paint dries and you can just refill right on top of it. this is what I ended up doing for my painting class in highschool, leaving my pallet uncleaned for 2 years. it didn’t just cut down on time and water, but it also makes for a lot of fun when you get to peel off the big chunk of paint once you do finally clean it, all in one piece, and then you can just start all over again
Or using a glass picture frame. Once the paint is dry spritz it with water and it'll peel up almost like you're using paint stripper
Oh my god, what a great tip! I'm just starting up painting again, and I hate waste and cleaning up 😅 I'm going to try this, thank you for sharing this 😳💕
Also, it's better than washing the pigments down the drain. Some pigments are toxic to fish, like Prussian Blue, aka PB27.
The eye one is damn helpful
It would be really nice to hear ways in which artists could become more environmentally friendly….not less.
That eye thing is so much effort when I could just make an Emo hair cut with a mask so I don’t have to draw the mouth either
😂 a new level of lazy: crux the whole character design on only having to draw one eye
you're gonna have to draw the other eye at some point man
Now that's a true art hack.
Beginner!!!

"Instead of cleaning your pain packets for every 5 seconds .... Become a digital artist" I thought she was gonna say this help 😭
i guess its better than plastic wrap xD

The last one works. You just have to be an expert at measuring that hack has saved my life!!!!
Artist aren't lazy, energetic asf
The first hack is really bad for the environment. Rather than being lazy start thinking about the environment
It’s actually not. That’s what you’re supposed to do with paint that’s not watercolor. You can’t put paint down the drain. It contaminates the water supply and contaminates the underground ecosystem.
@@_.hybrids._1680you don’t need to use single use plastic to throw away the leftover paint tho. That part is completely unnecessary and bad for the planet.
@@Feverm00n no matter how *you* choose to use saran wrap its still single use plastic. buying a singular package that comes with bubblewrap is going to have what, 4 times the plastic she used here? dont forget about the fact 100 companies produce 71% of all waste and blaming the consumer instead of the entities who actually pollute is doing their pr for them. taylor swift throws hundreds of tons of co2 into the air a year just flying around in her wittle jet, so if you think youre helping the environment by avoiding single use plastic i have a bridge to sell you
my paint palette has 3 years worth of acrylic paint on it and I just keep adding more.

I just straight up don’t clean my paint palettes
Same though
id actually recommend getting plexiglass pallets so u can do the scrapies afterwards and it produces less waste overall
“And it’s completely clean”
The spots of paint on the pallet: am I a joke to you?
WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE I'VE NEEDED THIS FOR SO LONG
Great tips for lazy artists! These hacks will definitely come in handy. #shorts
Please don't create plastic waste just for being too lazy to wash your palette. I use old tiles with glazing on them as my palettes, since they can just be cleaned after painting with brushing. I've used the same tile for years now and I'm not a gentle washer, and it'a still as good as new and nothing sticks on it permanently.
That is a really good idea
?
Yeah you mean we should waste water by regularly washing the palettes
@@phoenix-vp3uz "...nothing sticks on it permanently." If you're that concerned of water usage, you can wash it like once a month or even more rarely. Positive change doesn't come from constantly fighting against everything, and trying to come up with ways to say no to it. You can go and get water from a lake or a river nearby and use that. Just wash the paints elsewhere and get rid of the paint chips according to the recycling policy of your country. Lots of choices my dude.
@@phoenix-vp3uz waste water?
Water doesn’t waste. It goes back into the earth and is recycled again and again. Plastic destroys the ecosystem and never disappears. There are micro plastics in every single living creature on earth. Plastic will exist for thousands of years and kill millions of creatures.
Get real.
My paint palette is just a straight flat piece of plastic that I mix paint on. I let it build up to the board until the board itself is about two inches tall with just layers of mixed paint and get the nice peel going
😂 I make the same comment for people to do before I saw yours.
Could go the extra length in lazy and paint a white layer over so you're not looking at the layer beneath when mixing and just keep going forever 😂
Artists are not artists if they're lazy. Art itself is something that includes hard work, dedication and perseverance even if it's something that's related to the art.
Thank you.I really needed to notice
The paint pallet one is bad for the planet so please don’t use it as an every day thing
this!!
So is the regular washing. Bad for the water, so pick your poison wisely.
@@ladyenn5625 ok sorry then
@@ladyenn5625it’s not even close to comparable, plastic takes thousands and thousands of years to biodegrade, and is contaminating our water supply, oceans, and freaking bodies. It hurts wildlife of all kinds. To compare that to using a bit of water or a cloth to wipe it clean is bad faith as hell.
Wouldn't getting the wrap be hard and take forever?!
!!This was a joke!!
I also love her channel!
no-one called you rude or annoying
@@xmoomiex9416 when I make jokes like that I hate comments for no reason
My thought train was like- why have the palette then cos like you could just use the wrap, a zip lock bag or something similar instead right?
Also I just use parchment paper not paint pallets
I actually use leftover plastic like the stuff that comes on the outside of canvas packaging to reduce waste:)
"And it's completely clean"

this makes drawing people so much easier
You are a lifesaver because I am still a kid and I love painting and doing art so this is really help me. Thank you.
I literally haven't cleaned my pallet in like 2 years😭
i don’t even have a pallet i use the table
Same!
WATER BRUSHES ARE A NIGHTMARE.
As a watercolor artist, I’ve struggled a lot with pigment getting into the tube that hold the water. It can make you colors muddy so be careful
The tip also never really stays sharp. I didn't like my experience as well.
That's surprising to hear because I use them quite often and never really had much problems.
However I wouldn't reccomend them for big watercolor projects.
Thanks for your hacks! Very helpful! 😊
I’m even too lazy to put that thing on the paint palette 🥱
Best Tip: You can use a rubber/eraser to remove any residues after wiping the palette with a wet wipe. It works good for staining pigments like blue
Yup! Tbh I’d rather not waste cir-am wrap so this is a way better solution!
Or just don’t clean it like ever
That would be satisfying to peel of tho?!?!!
Thanks im definitely gonna use these hacks
Thank you, this helped me out, I'm quite glad I found this channel!
Just to note water brushes are usually used to go and aren't great for regular watercolour because it waters down the colours. Also lower quality brushes have difficulties with how much water comes out, sometimes too much and sometimes not at all. Definitely a good tool to have though, just has some downsides.
Hey Rae, I love your hacks but the first one… I mean, it’s really wasteful and not eco-friendly at all
Her: "it's completely clean"
The paint on the palette:👁👄👁
As an artist this is ✨beautiful✨
I got an aqua brush for my birthday the other day, I love the video
Edit: I just tried it and it worked amazingly, thanks, Rae!
Be careful with aqua brushes they have very little control over how much water you put down on the paper so just be careful or else you might overfill whatever you’re painting
@@wetsockz3001 I know, but mine is a little on the cheap side, and it takes a bit of force to get a decent amount of water out, and it's also kinda hard for me to overfill the painting
"Easy to clean"
Why does mine take 3 minutes to clean😭
Good stuff! Never considered this! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
super helpful! Thx Rae!
" Hacks for lazy artists" it's like you know me.
The eye one... That's what we digital artists do in like 5 seconds
But letting the paint dry on the pallet and peeling it off is so satisfying
This is actually one of the best hack videos
i already know the eye one is gonna be helpful, like the first one is PERFECT and then you try to replicate it for the other one and lmao
For the third hack, you don't need a tracing paper as long as you already blocked both eyes in the first place. It's always a common problem that people put so much effort in the first eye and then die at the second, because they did not plan and do both eyes at the same time.
Yessss I’m a lazy art fan 🫵🏾👁️👄👁️🫵🏾
Thank you so much I’ve been painting and I keep watching it every five seconds this really helps
Here's a thing I do for paint palettes. Sometimes I need to go away from my paint project for a while but still have a lot of paint in it that I don't want to waste (usually from mixing). So I put a piece of masking tape over the "hole" as a lid, and it keeps my acrylic paint wet for days or weeks. And I can still wash out and use the other sections like normal.
I use ziplock bags i like the tape idea
BRO THE THIRD ONE IS CRAZY
How
I don't to traditional painting, but I paint miniatures with acrylic paints. The miniatures require priming before paint, so I always have some rattlecans of it around. When the palette starts looking grody, I just give it a layer of primer on top of the acrylic paint. Also has the benefit of being able to test colours on the exact material.
"lazy artists"
*i have been summoned*
By the way in case some of you don't know...if you want to transfer a picture perfectly use graphite paper
I think for the first one, using colours in the palette is amazing for an artist, cuz you can mix colours and use them again and again... And if you feel that much lazy to wash your palette, just buy a bigger one...
What’s the difference?
@💎 Diamond 💎 no u can, there are cheap painting products available too... U just need to know the correct place to find them...
@@yourdailydoseofme7945 well! The difference is the bigger the palette, the more space you'll have to run your imagination wild and the more creative colours you can make while mixing...
Thank you, this changed my lifeeeee!❤
Are you calling me lazy??
Well you’re completely right.
Tracing isn’t an “art hack”. Just draw the eyes at the same time and switch back and forth.

Wait your supposed to clean your paint pallet??? Mine has THOUSANDS of layers of paint!!😂😂
I often use plastic containers or lids for paint pallets and then leave the paint where it is. I'm not as concerned with how it looks usually, so I let the paint dry and then I can use it again the next time.
