  • Phil and Zach discuss the importance of attending a local church and how "church shopping" is holding you back from God loving you through his people. Phil looks at the consumerism models in modern churches and reminds people that they are really just clusters of imperfect people. Jase tells a story about a man who tried to help a homeless person with a terrible deal. Phil says that people have the wrong idea about marriage these days, and Jase laughs about the personality differences between himself and Missy.

I love you guys in Christ, I'll share your video on FB, because this is a message people should hear.
[edit] funny, when he said, "you don't know what your missing", took me back to a situation that happened in my life, when I was attending a semester of college, this _"alternate-lifestyle"_ male drove up to the bus stop, said he knew me, called me by my name, said we lived in the same apartment complex, so I hopped into the car, he was driving, but I noticed he couldn't keep his eyes on the road because they were on me. The final straw was drawn when he put his hand on my lap, and I said, "it's time for me to get out!", and he said, _"Nah, I'll take you home, but you don't know what yer missing!"_ I was thinking, "I know EXACTLY what I'm missing, and I won't miss it at all!"

I heard Jase speak at a wildlife supper I'm the small town of Lenox GA around 10 years ago, and that got me into the Duck Dynasty scene. Heard about the podcast about a year and a half ago, and finally decided to give it a listen about 3 weeks ago. Listened to episode 511 to about 514 or 515, got the feel for it, and decided to start from episode 1 and catch up (currently on Episode 137 with Godwin on), and it's really helping me on a personal level with a couple issues of mine due to being a welder and a back slider.. Also depends on the region you are in. North East states are very expensive so sometimes it takes a little longer to build up savings to get your own place. Renting when you don't have to is just burning money. Think it also comes down to your mindset, if you are saving up and planning and being wise about it that's one thing but if you are just being lazy and complacent that's another.

My Dad gave the blessing, but told the pastor he didn’t give it. That was a traumatic thing for me. I have forgiven. It was really awkward when the pastor came over to pray with my Dad because he had just gotten diagnosed with cancer and as he was leaving he explained why he wouldn’t officiate our wedding. It’s was pretty humiliating to be made out to be in error because my Dad wasn’t honest with the pastor. Dads, don’t do that!

Funny, A pastor was condescending and said to me, "Your not going to taint any congregation of mine!" All I was trying to do was see my children in a safe place because, after my divorce I was left impoverished by a county that discriminated against me. Phil knows the story, I sent him emails as to how my marriage was destroyed by outside influences. Unfortunately, because of that experience, which should have never have happened, my ex-wife who married an abusive man before me. She had been married twice, since our marriage. I believe my marriage was ordained by God. I got married when I was 35, she was 25. My Dad, who I had not seen for many years came to our wedding. He is a Christian and went to church faithfully like I do. My ex-wife's parents did not and were very possessive of our children. I paid child support for 22 years. She divorced me on my daughter's 1st birthday and then married another man. That relationship didn't last. I wonder why. I have not been married since my divorce. That was almost 28 years ago. We were married for 6 years, without any problems.

TOPIC: "SHOULD CHRISTIANS MARRY NON-CHRISTIANS?" *_(see below, if you are willing)_*
My dad was a preacher, and he was not unequally yoked, as his faith in God was stronger, thus he was able to steer my mom away from Catholicism, rather than to be converted to it, to where my mom's faith is now in God's Word, and the finished work of Christ upon the Cross.
    1 Corinthians 7:16 (nkjv)
16 For how do you know, O wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, O husband, whether you will save your wife?
It was said to me in a comment, concerning this topic:
Quote: "how do you raise them (kids)? I came from a divided home"
We're ALL divided, even so within our very homes, God's Word has been dividing us, should I disown those within my own family whom do not believe? Certainly not!
Christians are arguing over not marrying unbelievers, while in their very homes are unbelievers! How do you reconcile that?
This division exists before we even reach marriage, so how can we assume we are united in Holy Matrimony by not being yoked with unbelievers through marriage?!
1 Corinthians 7:14 (nkjv) 14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy.
The key word above is "unbelieving", doesn't matter if their unbelief occurred before marriage, or after. Do you know how many videos are out there, titled, "Why I left Christianity"?
Note to self... before one refuses to marry a "sinner", one should be certain one is a Christian. What does that mean? We are certainly not immune to sin, but if we truly have the Holy Spirit within us, He will see that whatever sins we do commit do not lead to death, for the Holy Spirit guides us to all truth, not deeper into sin, or to the Pope's ring finger.
Are we not the bride of Christ? Did Christ come sitting with the righteous, or with tax collectors? ...while we were still yet in sin, so shall WE push aside non-believers who show more love, in their willingness to marry "Christians", because we think ourselves more righteous than they?
    Here's the key...
People who TRULY hate God will not marry those labeled as "Christians".
It takes LOVE for two people to come together, especially those with opposing beliefs, so if the two are willing to dedicate their lives to one another in Holy Matrimony, then they are sanctified by the Believer.
The Bible says, "Marriage is good for ALL", and I don't understand why people have such a problem with the word "ALL".
*Hebrews 13:4 (nkjv)* _(notice the word ALL)_
_4 Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge._
Isn't LOVE the fulfillment of all the laws of the prophets?
*Romans 13:10 (nkjv)* _10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law._
It wouldn't be LOVE if Christians only married Christians. When God says do not be *unequally yoked* I believe He is referring to one's faith, that your faith must be greater than the unbelievers, lest the unbeliever convert you away from the True faith. If your faith is stable in God's Word, then you may lead your unbelieving wife or husband to Christ.
I can not give you every instance for which a Christian should not marry a particular person, but my best advice is to pray, and seek God's guidance in all things, giving thanks in all season's, grateful for what God has done, and continues to do in our lives, and in the lives of others of whom we are a light unto.

But God has called us to peace._
      REPEAT
      * 14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife*
People keep saying, "That's for people who are already married!"
Did you expect that God would bless a relationship in which the two are NOT married? Of course they have to be married, because God will never sanctify adultery, under any condition.
If a Christian and a non-believer are willing to live together, then the unbeliever is sanctified by the Believer, otherwise their children would be unclean.

God is LOVE, and LOVE is the fulfillment of all the laws of the prophets. If two people of opposite faith are willing to live together, I'd call that LOVE, while the rest of the world is killing one another over all their differences, these two are willing to form PEACE.

Justifying why you shouldn't help at all?? Jase doesn't believe in the " supernatural " acts of God in our present day. If you have followed them you should have picked up on this. Just an observation, just sayin'

    James 2:8
If you really fulfill the royal law stated in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
    1 Tim 1:15
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
    John 15:13
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
    Rom 9:1
I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh.
