I had the same epoxy resin and had EXACTLY the same issues! Mine also didn’t fully cure - just stayed tacky forever. For the last use of the epoxy I doubled up on the hardener and warmed the epoxy before mixing. It was still crap but not as crap. Superb quality video by the way - your filming and editing on this one are excellent!
I’ll be honest I was a bit skeptical putting this video out as I did think I was doing something really obviously wrong! Thanks for the reassurances! I’m sorry your project didn’t work out well either but at least we know now, the cost of resins still baffles me from ‘budget’ to ‘pro’ the cost difference is huge but I guess like anything you get what you pay for! I’m hesitate to try it again 😬 thanks for the kind words as always JThing! 🤛🙂
@@AnchorDesigns I came to the same conclusion (buy cheap buy twice), I have some epodex (not sponsored) on its way - from Germany as it turns out 🤦🏻♂️ probably a fortune in import duties! - hopefully a better pour!
Great content despite the fail. I used to make Micarta with cheap resins and always had problems in winter. Always lined the mold with greaseproof paper so the resin didnt stick to the mould more than the workpiece. The vintage scroll saw caught my eye and i notice you have some restoration videos. Great, because that looks very similar to the old Meddings scroll saw and i keep getting tempted to buy one. I'll be watching these and your Record 74 restoration today no doubt.
Welcome to the mad house Midnight Joker! 😅 I love the grease proof paper idea! That’s genius, I’ll ask the mrs! The vintage scroll saw is a ‘beaver’ nicknamed the ‘giant beaver’ 😏🤣 I must say im no scroll saw expert, however these old cast iron machines are a joy to use even with my very limited scroll saw skills. I had a new Chinese delta scroll saw and it would work and do the job but it’s a very different animal. Thanks for the comment and views. Get buying the meddings! I have the meddings pillar drill and it’s also a joy to use. But not to move! 😬🤣🙂👍
Thanks for posting this, not do much a failure as a lesson? Reading the other comment it's the resin not you, and without this vid we wouldn't have known! Will be trying resin arc one point in the future myself, so very informative, will now go check out your record 74 vid as recently uploaded one myself!

@@jackleg693 please share your findings! I don’t want to give up on resin, I think we are both in the same boat...we don’t like to be beaten! 🤞👍
Great honest video thanks for sharing. 👍👍😷
Cheers Brian! Happy New Years mate 🍻👍
